  • Too bad HD-DVD is worthless now...

  • Technically, the AACS encryption algorithms have still not been broken. What happened is that the player key databases have been discovered, enabling software to decrypt title keys on the discs, allowing for the decryption of the AACS encrypted screams.

If you have the key, you don't need to break the lock. In the case of AACS, someone left the master key under the doormat, and someone made a copy :)

  • @hihaatje You're an idiot. That's binary. Only human languages have "words" and "sentances." Go learn about computer languages before you go and baselessly call something shitty.

  • Anything that can be built can be destroyed, recreated and made better

One of the many hacker philosophys

  • HD-DVD is dead anyway..

I guess it's for the concept..

    Blu-Ray FTW!

  • Blu-ray hacked as well. Discs too expensive to burn at the moment. Sony owns rights to blu-ray disc distribution prices

  • is there any place where i can DL the unedited version of this video without the pixelation and without the black square covering up the keys?

  • Crack the XBOX RSA. You never will.

  • Modern crypto is good enough that a brute force attack is often infeasible unless you work for NSA or some place like that. The private key has to exist somewhere, though - eventually, if there's enough motivation, somebody is going to leak it. For symmetric crypto, the key is going to be stored on any play-capable device. Once you get one of those, game over.

  • Your point doesnt make sense, if they had encrypted something with the private key then the public key will decrypt it, that key would have to be in the hardware so you just have to get it out and you can decrypt. So it wouldnt need to be leaked, you just have to tear open a BluRay drive, its the same as DVD basically. Also modern crypto only applies to things where you are never supposed to be able to read the data, if you can play it on your tv then they have given you the code.

  • ahahha fullmetal jacked n1 ........... ^^

  • This could be fake.

Regarding its un/crackability, my thinking is that if a blue-ray player can play a blueray disk, it's possible to rip it. I'm saying it will be easy, just possible.

  • I cant believe this wannabe hacker just said everything is crackable. IF YOU CRACK THE 2000 BIT RSA ENCRYPTION I SIR WILL GIVE YOU $5000, I LAUGH AT THAT

  • Well, what's the adage about millions of monkeys at millions of typewriters creating Shakespeare?

Given enough people and enough time it can be cracked. Nothing is impossible.

  • If only time reveals the possibility of things, we'll be holding our breaths for the things that aren't.

  • Uhm, false. The point with "...monkeys with typewriters..." is that the amount of work needed is so large that it simply isn't believable that those monkeys would be creating shakespeare (like, one in a trillion to the trillionth power is just a start).

Some things aren't feasible to brute force. Some things won't be broken. Sometime someone will break today's RSA completely, but then we'll have something completely else.

  • You're forgetting a very obvious point and that is that they have to let you watch the video so the key must be stored somewhere, if you are willing to take apart you computer or smart enough to find where they stored it then you can break the protection. Some things cant be brute forced you are correct but in this case (DVD's etc) they have to give you the key aswell, thus will always break crackable.

  • hahah...iknew it, people are starting to do their weird stuff to the formats, since blueray and hd-dvd have the same quality i would not be surprise if one day they use hd-dvd format from the grave to make copies of movies instead of breaking bluerays' copyrights or some shit like that.

  • now, america never saw this coming... little old canada just sitting up there... plotting... the invasion is beginning... slowly, but surely, we will be assimilated into a canadian lifestyle... all from this little breakthrough in hacking hd dvd... don't do drugs

  • theres always going to be someone that cracks the code spawning thousands of copycats, using that code to make programs so non-hackers can do whatever

  • Xbox 360 in general has more original titles.I would buy a ps3 if they would come out with twisted metal but under the same place that created twisted metal 1 and 2,which thankfully twisted metal black was created by the same people from the first 2.

  • That's why WB is supporting BD and now Blu-ray has won.

  • A dumb Sony fan in his only little world like usual, which doesn't surprise me,don't worry kid I use to be the same when ps1 came out thinking its the best until they release ps2,and man the ps2 was fucking terrible,oh also how come Devil May Cry 4 sold way better on xbox 360 and not ps3?Try figuring that out for once, instead of being stuck in your own little world with a ps3

  • Holy Crap man thats whats wrong with the world they keep holding back what really is going on with technology truth of the matter is that HD has been out for over 20 years however wasn't fully released till now and even when it was smart ass people find the truth. HELL YEA

  • well get owned the problem is that todays tecnology and formats are going to come so fast and go so quick that the companys will just give up in the end

  • This is to you. PS3 Fans aren't crying over anything. You are just a narrow minded gamer who is following every other retarded fps gamer in the world. Get over yourself and shut up.

By the way, If it wasn't for Sony PlayStation, 3D gaming wouldn't have taken off.

  • I'm pretty sure it would have over time.

  • blu-ray protection is hacked! OMG O_O

  • lol hacked wtf blu ray have won because it better 25 g 1080 p hd dvd 15 g 720p lol blu ray are better just like his console ps3 gonna win x box its crap LOL

  • lol what are you talking about? bioshock used most of the xbox 360's capabilities. that is why it even lags when you play it. thats the truth, don't hate on me because i'm an honest and smart ps3 gamer.

  • wtf?a PS3 doesn't have better graphics over the xbox 360,have you not realize that the xbox 360 hasn't even used its full potential yet?same shit with ps3,but gears of war alone looking terrific on the xbox 360 was showing at least 50% of what the 360 can do.

  • actually it does

  • blu ray is the future...well atleast for the next year...i hope

  • Blu ray protection is hacked! Hollywood only chosed bluray because of the copyprotection format, and I say again, HACKED!

  • I second Subtalvik's comment

  • Lol I remember that scene from jarhead and I watched it like 2 years ago it go's "What the hell are you doing here?". And the main dude goes "I got lost on my way to college sir" and that guy with the hat kicks him.

  • OH NO!

What will this mean for the future of HD-DVD!?!

    LMAO.

  • Toshiba is fighting a losing battle in the electronics market. They should just give up. They're as defunct nowadays as Zenith is in the American market for tvs. Zenith and RCA (2 gayass companies, one of which actually had its own satellites. lolz)

  • Toshiba did give up, they are discontinuing the production of HD dvd players and switching to blu-ray. come on now keep up !!!

  • i have both systems so fuck it

    360 for life

    ps3 for sometimes

  • HD-DVD is dead anyway so this doesn't matter.

  • What does it matter? Blu-Ray has won HD-DVD major news check reuters Toshiba has walked out! and PS3 outsold 360 in USA during January!!! all this information is based on FACT!

  • Did you also notice this clip was made a year ago?

  • DID YOU ALSO NOTICE HE IS CORRECT?

  • He is correct and I am happy about that. I have blue ray. BUT, Did you notice the f#$^ ing clip is a year old?

  • yeah for ONCE it happened. im still getting madden for my 360. screw the 30 frames a second

  • Wow! What di you do then?

Did you get codes or what?

  • the music makes me feel like were actually breaking in to some world class bank...

  • @Justamit2501 we are the hollywoods bank of lustful greed.

  • thats illegal lol

  • It's not illegal. You can do whatever you like with media you own, as long as you don't distribute it.

  • just download ANYDVD idoit

  • No point in copying the HDDVD they lost the war, show me bluray isntead!

  • haha..hell yea....blu ray destroyed hd dvd

  • yeah i know poor hd dvd blu ray is the shit

  • There also is a backupbluray out there, which defeats BD+

  • wow DVDfab had the software cracked 2 days after it came out, thats why they charge now and thats why we have cracked there software lol

  • Hard-Drives? Are you serious? Do you realize how long it would take to DL something like that? And they dont even have a safe way to encrypt it so you cant make thousands of copies and give it away.

Hard drives are only the future for porn since most people dont talk about porn they DL.

  • No it's not. Copyright laws have what's called a "fair use" clause which includes making backups of music and movies you have purchased for personal use only.

  • He's right. In some cases too, "fair use" can understate that public broadcast in order to provide some kind of constructive commentary or criticism (i.e., a movie report for a high school student) qualifies as "fair use".

  • Full Metal Jacket. Why censor it ??? Oh, true, the audio...

By the way, I think neither Blu-Ray nor HD-DVD will win. The future resides in Hard-Drives. You simply download the movie through cable or maybe even satelitte, and then you have it inside your hard drive, no scratches, no zoning or anything, for the rest of your life.

And you can bring your whole movie library with you if you go to a friend's...

  • Until your harddrive crashes or you get a virus that wipes everything out, or the company that originally supplied you the movie decides to stop running their DRM-checking servers.

  • I'm not talking about computers, i'm talking about hard drives like the one TiVo has (I think, since it can record shows), or your iPod has, or as a better example, Apple TV has.

If the hard drive was run with something similar to Windows, then YES it would often crash, or get viruses :P

  • I don't mean OS corruption. I mean a physical error, such as a head crash or spindle bearing failure. -ALL- harddrives suffer these ailments, INCLUDING those in your TiVo box and iPod.

  • True. You made your point :)

For myself, I think HD-DVD is a less resource-consuming medium that gives results as satisfying as Blu-Ray (They are both FULL HD capable), and with Blu-Ray, which can store more than just an HD movie, I feel like I'm buying unneeded storage space with every movie. But I think that war is not over and a third party contestant is yet to be found...

  • haha so true man im with you in that one apple rocks iPhone rocks baby woo !!!

  • Thanks you for ruining my argument with your ignorant comment filled with more english-mangling expressions than a game of CS.

By the way, the hard-drive in the iPhone is senselessly ridiculous...

  • blu-ray is for people that like the ps3.

  • Bluray is for people who accept the future.

  • WORD bluray is winning. bluray is better. accept it

  • Bluray is winning more people are stupid accept it! LOL

  • blu ray is 4 ppl hu wont compromise

  • Amen to that, brother. Who looked at 30GB vs 52GB and said, "Yeah, let's go with less storage space for a deeper experience in entertainment"? I put my proverbial bet on Blu-ray at the beginning and, even when the porn industry originally sided with HD DVD, I stuck to my guns. Totally made the right choice. Blu-ray ftw, baby!

  • nothing is unhackable

  • u ever wondered how theres blu ray discs***** on torrent sites?!?! u can rip a bluray through the ps3 if its running linux.. :)

  • hacking is fun! I and my programming squad we hacked DX 10 for vista to integrate to windows xp. Now, we dont have to install syck ass vista to play dx 10. We will post a video of it, but we might share it to the world, we dont want to get into illegal issues with the law.

  • Hack the planet! lol

  • If it were not possible to copy hd-dvd, then copies would not be available in the stores to buy. Discs are not made with a magic pressing machine, they are copied.

  • Media will never be uncopyable.

    Wry?

When you play it, it's reading the information. If you can read the information, you can take it from the disk.

  • What the hell.. HD DVD Isn't a system he's just showing how you can take the files from the DVD

  • Slysoft's AnyDVD 6.1.7.4 cracks them all allowing you to strip the region code and all copy protection. I use anyDVD6.1.6.5 wih clone DVD V2 and it breaks sony's arcoss pupetlock and universal's waiting for happiness and the RCE protection. Right now I crack and copy any released DVD known to man.

  • Porn is already on HDDVD, and has chosen HD DVD because of the low cost of producing media. Type in 'porn HD DVD' on here and you will see the proof dude. Plus, bluray is a fad that will be gone by next XMas, maybe earlier.

  • BlueRay is outselling HD-DVD. Just look at the sales figs for "The 300" BlueRay. Even the Peramount Pictures contract to only produse on DVD and HD-DV is flawed. Porn killed Betamax, but will never kill BlueRay.

  • That better be true because I spent 9,570.00 on Video cards, a MAC and 4 players for blu Ray.

  • blu ray is only winning at mo cause of the ps3 but hd dvd will win in the end cause we have porn. And everybody knows porn sells.

  • wow jayjen880 is dumb. don't you know that a hardrive burner HD DVD disc is made up of a cornucopia of dullard disks that pixelate the movements of the copyrighted material of the ATA when converted to 4GB of the CODEC files? (and yes, i do NOT know anything about computers, i just made that whole thing up because it's funny, and i don't understand anything being said in the comments so i just made something up. lol)

  • Thank you for your thoughts, as dumb as they were. To tell you the truth, I couldn't give a wank about this shit either, I post when I'm bored, and I like to stir the morons on here, cuz geeks are funny when they are angry.

  • I'm a geek because I know what ATA means, yeah...

  • No, your a geek cuz u keep on about this shit when the topics dead. Heres something to do. Go and buy a new blow up doll (because you obviously already have one), name it, dress it up, and have long conversations with it instead of posting shit on these sites. IE Get a life!!!!

  • Well, I didn't know you've had an experimental surgery to have your balls removed and stuffed up your ass. Congratulations.

  • Your saying what now? This is the first tecnology battle that will result in a knife fight. Like that dude that did a drive by on that chcik for her PS3 a month ago. I hope he shot the PS3, would have made it worth it.

  • Hahaha. Dumbass yourself. ATA HD DVD drives exist. Congratulations, you have failed at life.

  • The words actually Dullard, so u failed at reading also. And my comment was in reference to 'DVD' drives reading 'HD DVD' content. So u are both a dullard and a dumbass, congrats on that.

  • The Matrix Reloaded. It's the song of the fight between the chinamen who "protects that which matters most" and Neo. It's a kick-ass fight.

  • to hack someone elses computer all you need is to find a person who uses internet explorer. Then there is a VML HACK that can give you full and complete access to their computer using a port and CMD. I've done it once and installed a bunch of programs on a guys desktop and even though he soon went offline the programs were still there.

  • Fake. HD-DVD movies are at LEAST 10-15GB, 2-4.5GB movies are normal DVD movies >.> .

  • Haven't you heard of the word CODEC ?

  • If someone would've converted it to 4GB, from a movie on a HD-DVD disc, it wouldn't have been worth it! It would be the same quality, or a little better. Yay, someone found a way to make HD-DVD ripping result in a quality very near DVD quality! Yay >.>

  • Stuff that's "uncrackable" are from techs that do it as a 9-5 job; the only people that care are executives and they know as much about this stuff as an infant knows about the birds and bees.

Hackers are an impassioned group who take their work seriously, like a hobby more than work. When a corporate stiff essentially challenges them, they INVITE feet to go into their collective mouths and asses when hackers show them how "secure" their stuff REALLY is.

  • You can buy a 500 Blank Cd's for like 20 some dollars, and sell each Music CD for 10 bucks and movie for 15. Charge 15 for unreleased cd's and 20 for movies. hell 10 bucks a cd thats $5,000 even though you only profit $4,980 or so. Hell thousands do it. Its easy money and i doubt it hurts the industry that bad even if its illegal, can't stop it. Amen

  • There will always be pirated music and movies, who cares? people still goto theaters and they still make millions. If downloading music is illegal then why do they let it happen? You can burn Cd's and make copies "only for yourself" but you can easily lend it to a friend and or send the song files to others.

  • Just goes to show how greedy corporations want their customers to believe what they tell them, and if anything they said is found to be false, they will do anything to cover it up.
