I think shes got a a beautiful voice beyond her years....I agree just relax a little (the piano isnt' helping) and make your phrases a smidge longer and with smoother transitions....All in all I would vote for you and I will be watching :) I will also say this though--find your own identity and get rooted in that. Not saying you don't, just really dig down deep and stick to who you are inside because the truth is the public wants someone unique and confident in themselves.

For an 11-year old. she's awesome, but I think she just needs some vocal training (if she's been deprived of it). I think being in the xfactor could provide that training, even if you don't get selected this time due to age or whatever, try again in a year or two, you should =).

I'm not sure I would try to compete singing a song that has been written by someone who was feeling loss love/broken heart, etc.......

It is very hard to emulate feelinging that are not there.......

At the tender age of 11, it just isn't normal to feel the pain that is written in some of these songs...

Now Janis Joplin is another story.... She covered her pain with alcohol & drugs...

That said, you can most likely sing Janis Joplin just fine...
