  • question why do they take so many treatments? also how come sclerotherapy doesnt work ? you know the thing they inject on varicose veins

  • I have a small portwine stain by my ear and i'm 12 but i'm too scared to have laser treatment cuz of the pain ://

  • @GEMMI541 it's totally worth it! you can put on a ointment to numb your stain area, I did, and it wasn't too bad! I'm 18 and don't have to get laser anymore :) no one notices it anymore

  • I've had 9 PDL treatments from 1998-2001 which I think faded my facial port wine stain some, but it started getting darker when about 6/7 years later when I was 27. I had 3 Gemini treatments last year which were GREAT, and just had another PDL treatment to try to remove underlying darkness (the Gemini removed all the discolouration near the surface).

Gemini is sweet - hardly hurts and no bruising. PDL is a fucking bitch with pain, swelling and bruising and scabs for well over a week after.

  • I got the same and getting it done to.

  • I had a large portwone stain on one side of my face, my ear and my chest. they started to treat me when i was 18 months. im 16 now and its all gone! :)

  • @princessdreamer100

Where did you get your treatment done at??

  • dondonald hospital in belfast, northern ireland

  • @princessdreamer100 I have the same thing as you.(: But I go to shriners hospital for children in galveston and they put you to sleep! I don't feel a thing. ive been getting these treatments sense i was three and i'm fourteen now and its lightened up a whoollleeee lot. I just hope i end up like you and it all goes away!(:

  • @princessdreamer100 proof please ??

  • @cadaverock If you want me to do a video of what I looked like before and now I will

  • @princessdreamer100 that be so good ,cause i want to know if its worth the surgery

  • best option use a camouflage its better den going through all dat pain by da laser treatment

  • most of us with light non aggressive birth marks like yours

  • i did this, hurts like a bitch after, skin gets hella sensitive and burns like a bitch to

  • @bigbob6556 how much did it cost per session

  • @R0bTR0bT Not sure, my insurance covered it a long time ago.

  • builden.......some people need lazer. not to get ride of the mark(that is impossible right now) but to slow its growth down. if someone has an agressive portwine and does not lazer it, the mark will scab, become raise, and cobble stone with age.

  • i get this same treatment on my face same side of face to. my birth mark is darker though. this treatment hurts so bad i cry for ever. i am 13. they have to hold me down. it stinks. i hate my face.

  • Be strong! I'm 21 years old and i also have a wine port side on my face..it's true that the laser treatment hurts, but you have to be strong, like I was all these years. :) Dont hate your face please, you will just be bad to yourself and thats not good...

  • @rimenese there are adults who cry from the pulse dye laser v beam for warts,or they scream in fear.I try to think about how its not too painful.I saw ow in pain, but don't scream in fear

  • i have one on my ARM I have never know what is looked like tell me if i should put a vid of it on utbe

  • yeh you should

  • ok maybe i over reacted

not all skin doctors are leeches

and i am sure, like this case, its has done some good

but for most of us, notta

  • they dont work. period

the dye, argon and now the gemini

they may lighten it for a while, but it will come back

the problem is, if you do the laser, you destroy the chances of having it done, when the real answer comes

dont waste your money, these doctors are like lawyers - all they want is your money

show me the results after a few months of treatment

one in 30,000 have a large port wine stain like me

thats 200,000 people in the world

save your money and your brain

    peace

  • yea i have one on my left cheek pretty much covers it but not really dark its pink but i had 47 treatments throught out my life im 14 and it sucks

  • also pain compared to pulsed dye? is it that bad? i only had a cream to apply on the stain, they recommended full anesthesia though at the end, but i didn't want that. then i quit: after 25 treatments, no results anymore. The only very painful times were on my eyelid. so is it wrth to try this after the pulsed dye?

  • Hi MysteriousDrella,

I've had both PDL and IPL. IPL has been far more successful in lightening the birthmark. Whether it completely removes the birthmark remains to be seen. Also, results will differ depending on the type of birthmark, skin complexion etc. It is said to be the laser of choice for resistant birthmarks.

I was knocked out cold during PDL treatments, and conscious throughout IPL, so I can't compare the two during the actual treatment, but the recovery's are similar.

  • Also, regarding pain levels: In my experience, pain levels are dependent on the settings used for the laser. At lower intensities, it feels like getting flicked with a rubber band... at higher intensities it feels more like a hot scalpel. It can be made more bearable with drugs (doesn't have to be a general anaesthetic)

  • i had treatments with the pulsed dye laser ... is this a newer one? how about the results? like to see a before and after ...

  • hmm..he didnt look `that` comfortable there!.. ouch

  • yeah i agree with CGkid333... ive had like almost a hundred treatments..and uhh it hurts alotttt maybe not right after but when you go home and the drugs wear off...yeah that hurts... but i dont get the flashing lights thing.

  • The discomfort from the procedure is significantly decreased with the inhaled anaesthetic agent. Corneal shields are in place to completely occlude the eyes, so there should be no glowing spots.

  • Hey thats pretty nasty, im 14 and i have it bad on muh face.. i remember two things about the proceedure 1) it hurts! 2)when you walk out you see little glowing spots cuz of the flash lol
