this is very similar to boxing jabs. ideally the jab makes contact as the front foot steps (forward, or backwards) and makes contact with the ground. this is also similar to boxing because he is VERY loose until the last moment before impact. excellent martial artist, ty for posting!
really good! I'd like to see more of that man!....although I have a GREAT teacher in the UK (incase he's reading it lol!) ;-)
