"Come to Daddy" is completely not like the rest of his work, either. Try both his Selected Ambient Works albums, as well as "Richard D. James" album. And the "Windowlicker" single (but not the video). He's also done some classical pieces like "Avril 14th". Then go from there.

The Beatles started it all so they have my respect for that, Pink Floyd were one of the earliest bands to be so innovative and Joy Division were a huge inspiration for bands like Radiohead.
