fun fact, according to some scrap ideas from capcom, Zero´s hair stores energy because Zero was designed by wily to has fliying abilities like Forte/Boss (actually a armor adaptor) but because of a lack of good design and stuff (specifically Zero don´t like power ups) was removed from mmx4

If you collect all 3 of Zero's parts in X2, he shows up and destroys Sigma's "fake" Zero, essentially saving you a tough fight.

Otherwise, X fights Zero himself.

Do you all think Capcom should make a Mega Man Maverick Hunter X2 or what? If they do, do you think they should take Sigma out in the remake? After the X-Hunters I felt like Sigma returning was unnecessary. They should have postponed it until at least X4. Maybe the last boss could be Copy Zero?

Wily never finished him though. When he was found and awoken in the underground lair he was missing his saber and shoulder pads. I don't think Wily would've activated a robot that was incomplete, meaning he simply slept until he was found by Sigma's crew.

Zero was built with a buster, similar to X (presumably Wily stole Light's blueprints for X's buster). The saber was given to Zero later in the series.

That's probably it. The thing is, though, that doesn't explain what happened to Bass, Mega Man, Proto Man and all the miscellaneous bots. The problem with the theory that Zero killed them all is that then the Maverick Virus would have spread that early as well...so it's a loose end that Capcom never tied up.

CLASSIC UNIVERSE and X UNIVERSE ARE NOT THE SAME!

That means that Megaman never existed in X's universe. Yes, the characters are similar, there's a Dr. Light and even Dr. WIly in X-4 but THERE IS NO MEGAMAN OR ROLL!

Seriously. Is it that hard of a concept to grasp? They're two different Universes. It's like Guilty Gear and Blazblue. Very similar, yet not the same Universe.

@Burairage as TheDoukinChannel said, Zero was originally designed with just a buster. This was part in due to the fact that Zero's design was going to be "the new megaman" for the X series. So Inafune designed him with a buster since he needed one for megaman style gameplay. But his crew said no one would recognize this character as megaman so Inafune recycled Zero as a side character and gave him a saber and extra armor when he was rebuilt/upgraded in X2, where he became the focus of the story.

That is correct.

If you don't collect all Zero parts, you will end up fighting him; however, after the battle he'll come to his senses and help you out.

The real scenario is by collecting all the parts; he'll burst in and literally blow the copy to oblivion.
