through out history there has always been a class system, however in modern society its not necessary speak upon really, at least in the US. Also i think there is a common culture, it thats what we want to call it in America(with sub cultures) to grade someones character upon a skin tone is very ignorant at this junction. there are far many problems in the world today and real ppl that is concern will take a conscious moment and think about it. ignorance is not stupidity,ignorance is not knowing

i think ethnic pride is good. people make it a bad thing. i think we ARE all different and we should celebrate that in a good way. would we want only one kind of dog on this earth? why are there different breeds of dogs. quick, somebody make one breed of mutt. i dont think we will come together anytime soon. because, in order to do that we have to have a conversation with people from other races about racial problems. and you know how that goes.

If Europe stays unmixed then there really won't be much of a problem since we have one part of the world still continuing to produce that particular race. Suppose we have to reservoirs one containing sea water and in the other is drinking water. Its alright to take small portions from each and mix separately, but it would be a mistake to put salt water into the drinking water reservoir. Ok I know the analogy sucks. But i hope u get my point. :P

But elusive712 the problem is lots of people almost from every part of the world want to come to USA especially from third world countries. They also migrate to europe in the thousands.And whats so bad about this is that the white race ( when I mean white race I mean mostly europeans, using the term white race is not correct coz it applies to color)will continue to mix in every part of the world, whereas other races stay unmixed.

But i think most people hold on to their culture cause when they are lost mentally they have something (a seed) to rebuild their identity off of.

What you're saying makes sense. Where a person's grandparents where born has nothing to do with who the person is today. Separating us like that (the boxes you check, and parades) will only create animosity or prolong a kind of social segregation that is outdated and needs to be discarded. ethnic pride can be good if used appropriately-for example, having an Armenian or Greek culture day in a city can be positive because younger generations often forget the culture they came from, and these celebrations are positive reminders ...it can be a bad thing when people use racism as an excuse for problems that THEY themselves cause such as births out of wedlock, massive disturbances in classrooms, making neighborhoods unsafe as hoodlums cruise for victims...it all depends on context

You divide the world between the rich and the poor. Those you describe divide the world between white race and other races. And other people have their divisions.

I couldn't agree more. Interchange it with culture, and it's the same thing.
Diversity works in San Francisco because we "unite" on basic values. If you want to eat chinese food in your household as opposed to Indian Food, or dress inside of your home in a turbin, have at it.
But the cultural standard that you wear a shirt & tie to work, speak in English, drive on the right side of the road, and know a little bit of our cultural past allows diversity of this sort to exist side by side.

1.) the stigma you pointed out
2.) the inability of major white groups to be pro-white & speak against racist white groups. Question remains: how to make it inclusive; w/ cinco de mayo & MLK's birthday there are ways to incorporate all, it scares "some" that exclusively white things cant be inclusively celebrated. (not that it has to)
Some white people are stupid b/c they live with guilt over things that their grandparents did to some race at some point in history.

hey, dont get me wrong, but you have never experienced being discriminated against, im spanish, and the fact is that the only thing that you can do to overcome racism and not let it bring you down, is to have pride on the fact that you come from a certain place.
and another thing, is that we weren't raised the same way, if you are spanish or black, people see you as ignorant and that immediatly changes the idea that we are raised equally.

My feelings on this subject are that racism worked in the past simply as a tool for physical survival. We've moved ahead of that in MOST of the world. The world IS "shrinking". Travel & communication is melding race & culture. I believe the window of racism, now driven mostly by fear & ego, is closing.
I believe the biggest threat to our very humanity is now classism. ALL the poor & middle class now face literal enslavement by the super wealthy who believe in a 2 class system - rich & poor.
