Although Japanese passenger trains are fast and convenient, I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be if a train jam-packed with people that are barely able to move derailed at high speed! Not good.

@SpiledMilk Because it would cost an absolute fortune. Not only would they have to rebuild every bridge the train passes through, they'd also have to rebuild the tracks, and they would also have to replace every single train because it uses overhead power.

The trains would also be more liable to derailing at high speeds.
