I wouldn't say ALL mma athletes are the best, but I would say the cream of the crop very well may be. Look at GSP, Rich Franklin, sherk, these guys would fight for 25 minutes & fight just as hard the last round as the first. Swimmers don't get kicked in the ribs, or have some heavy f**k laying on top of them. They may be great swimmers but not the best athletes. As for wrestlers Alot of them go into mma & still gas out all the time. So yes I would say the TOP mma guys are the best athletes.

MMA Fighters are conditioned to go 5 5 minute rounds whereas triathletes are conditioned to to go for several hours. You cannot compare MMA athletes to other athletes in other sports because they differ so much. MMA fighers workouts are conditioned so they can fight for 25 minutes, triathletes are conditioned so they compete for several hours. Its like comparing apples to oranges

Different conditioning. You can't say that sprinters aren't conditioned, because they are - just for explosiveness rather than stamina.

Martial arts are some of the most well rounded sports in terms of athleticism. Endurance, explosiveness, strength, speed, and lots of technique, precision and skill - the only sport I can see coming close to martial arts in overall athleticism and skill is soccer (it takes A LOT to be a high level soccer player).
