  • *Catalyst. Nevertheless Florence is a lyrical genius and not to mention a goddess of music!

  • This is the live version from The Hammersmith

  • @glamourotic was i talking to you?that's what i thought.this wasn't a fight until you stepped in,and i am ending it.so just don't reply to this if you agree that every word in this conversation needs forgotten.

  • I will never have the abilty to completely unerstand this woman...........

  • Is this live?

  • This song sounds like an brilliant follow up to Cosmic Love.

  • 3:21 woah!

  • Oh my goodness! look at all the dislikes! oh wait....

  • @ImCarrotsforBananas I swear i we weren't related we could be related!

  • As a scientist, putting hydrogen, chemical bond, gas vapor into the lyric is ..... genius!

  • @tuck295q I've got nothing against science OR you, but please do not make my favorite song all sciency.............................

  • @ilovefluers But it is sciency and it's accurately right on spot! Somehow she made all those sciency stuff into a love drama song without making anything wrong in what science has said. That's genius!!!

  • @ilovefluers Well, dumbass, this song IS "sciency". Everything from the song's title to it's lyrics. If you love the song so much you might as well learn to appreciate the song's meaning. If not, just respect the tune and stop crying if someone appreciates what the song's actually about.

  • all her songs are great!

  • Rocking, sockin, Florence. This song is as rock and roll as it gets. The last bit at the end reminds me of Foals. Especially for that riff at 2:45.

  • this sounds really strange to the actual CD version O_O like the contrast has gone up

  • Also, pretty sure the lyrics for the chorus are

"The static of your arms, it is the catalyst

You're a chemical that burns, there is nothing like this

It's the purest element, but it's so volatile

An equation heaven sent, a drug for angels"

  • Is this the version that was on a bonus disk of Lungs, or something? Because I got the bonus disk version of Ceremonials, and this isn't the version from Ceremonials.

Regardless, it's a pretty cool version of the song.

  • love this :)

Florence and the Machine are AMAZIING ♥♥

    buy their new album, everyone!

  • She is like a female David Byrne. But unlike David Byrne, you just want to hug her. Cause she's awesome. And not wearing a bowtie and jogging in place. But she could if she wanted to... and would still be cooler.

  • @schoolgonewildboy LMAO DO IT!OH AND IF YOU GET DETENTION SING IT WHEN YOU GET IN TROUBLE!

  • I love how her accent is more defined in this song :)

  • I wish that this guitar riff was in the ceremonials version of the song. I mean it's there, but it's sorta drowned out ...

  • @missyiti good to know i'm not the only one. :)

  • I love this song... my favorite! :D

  • I'm sure the lyrics are "The static of your eyes, it is a catalyst"? although I could be wrong >.<

  • @KyleFairhurstGrist Actually I think it is the first time but the second time it's not.

  • Florence and the Machine is my best friends' favorite music, but he's a faggot.

  • Is it weird that I always think of Florence and the Machine as just Florence Welch? I always forget that Florence and the Machine is a band/collaboration.

  • Her album is flawless! SHE is incredible!

  • Best song on the new album~~~~~~! I love it, love it, its makes me feel alive. However amazing the new album is though, I still prefer her old stuff by far..its just has that feeling raw and unedited flo that made me fall in love with the band(:

  • mind. blown.

which always happens when i listen to flo

  • <3

    END OFF

  • She is simply brilliant.

  • OMG This is from physics. Strange particles and Charm quarks.. all quantum mechanics...

  • this is live right? this does not sound like the studio one

  • @adelisboricua4695 yes this version is from glastonbury 2010 :)

  • My sister and I were going to backpack in Europe 2 years ago, and one of the stops was going to be a Flo concert. It didn't happen, but I hope to see her when she comes to America!

  • This has got to be one of my most favorite songs in this album. Were in the Name of Florence can I find this in the US? Someone should mail it to me! :) For Christmas!

  • @unikornzrferrealz haha, i'm pretty sure you can buy it at any music store, just look for the 2 disc delux edition for this song:)

  • @vaughnjaela No i found the album at a bookstore today.

  • Because this song and artist speak of strangeness and chemistry, I will love them both forever.

  • A little Muse influence in this song perhaps?

  • Its weird to think that everything is made of infinitely small particles that bounce around from one place to another... And each type of element has a unique pattern. MIND FUCK!

  • @vaughnjaela I know you can in Canada but I can only assume you can in USA. If not there is always itunes or buying it online. I do not recommend illegally downloading it.

  • Hmm. Maybe our chemistry teacher will play this song... :D

  • @Hayitscami Nice... :)

  • When I get this CD, I'll make sure all my neighbors hear it, too! ;)

  • @vaughnjaela im pretty sure, considering she is starting her american concert tour.:) also, i own it and she is quite popular and i live in Canada. hope that helps!:D

  • did she do physics or something

  • she just got about one hundred times more fantastic.

  • this isnt even on here new album

  • @bairda14 umm yes it is, the bonus disk:)

  • @sarica10 havent got that one! :O

  • Sexy nerd music...I love it :)

  • was she a science major at one time?

  • @hichimichi actually she attended an art school for a short while :)

  • haha my Mum is buying me this CD for Christmas

Woot Woot...im one lucky boy <3

  • @themysteriouszane Me too! Except I'm a girl. Lol I am in love with it!

  • If their new album cost a hundred bucks, I'd STILL buy it. Everything I've heard from it thus far is nothing short of phenomenal, Florence and the Machine is such a brilliant artist.

  • @LostTomorrows i'd go to £500 xD
