  • Good lesson but in future get voice volume more up to match bass volume and better lighting needed on instrument. Thanks

  • gracias hermano

  • how do u get this sort of echoey/chorusey sound on your bass?

  • hey there wat amp are u using? thanks!!

  • XD in a gadda da vida Xd

  • heh bout to take a english as a second language, points out many of the language problems English speakers are dealing with. I too teach guitar and Bass to 7,8th graders..thank you sooo much for this lesson. I have studied and received a music degree and am playing in a old rock gp as bass player.. this is soooo fun. thanks for the insights..so cool. and fun to practice. thank you.. keep it up.

    great stufff

  • Im not the best yet at bass but if you ever seen Dman on here give a lesson I wish you would do your lessons like he does cause since Im trying to teach my self bass Im not fully up to speed with all the notes and DMAN shows you at a better angle where to put your fingers , I really like your videos also so could you go in to more detail like DMAN does on your videos also

    Crue

  • Deathcrue: Dman makes great stuff and are aimed more at beginners where i tend to do more lessons for intermediate and advanced players, therefore i dont go so much into the very basic details all the time.

Start with Dman and come back to me later:-) Ill keep your video angle suggestion in mind though, thx

  • The blues scale is just awesome, thanks for the lesson.

  • I saw the title "simple blues scale lesson on bass" and clicked in and LOL'd....haha it is this line.... :D

    Thanks. :)

  • the 1st one was Cream - Sunshine of your Love....

  • Det lyder pisse godt mayhnnn!!

  • got tabs for this please do send... thanks

  • are pentatonic scales the same as blues scales?

  • there is a blue note right between the dominant 4th and 5th in the pentatonic scale. (not 4th or 5th note in the scale but interval wise ;-)) thats the only difference between the blues scale and minor pentatonic. (how you use the blue note is important too)

  • im on my knees worshipping your bass knowledge!!...

im going to practise the blues scale now,, this is without a doubt THE BEST blues scale lesson on youtube!!

  • got any tabs for this??? makes it easier for me thnx

  • great playing cheers for making videos hope you make more :)

  • you put me to shame .. great lesson helped alot

  • I thank GOD for you bro as a new comer it,s not always easy to hear the notes and watch your fingers move but to explain it fret for fret and note to note and slowing down truely you are a BASS GOD please keep teaching me this way an all your run,s also BIGG JEREMIE !?!?!?

  • Good bass lesson dude!

  • fucking love the blues scale

  • puto regalame un bajo

    tocas bien sigue asi

  • Actually what he refers as a chromatic note (the major 7th) can easily be, and often is, included in the blues scale to make a complete 7 note scale. I play it this way and it works quite well.

  • funny how this riff can be used in different way...It´s musicman?

  • wow it really helpt me thx

  • every one learns sunshine of your love first

  • Way back in ancient times "Louie Louie" was our first riff. :-) It's even simpler than "Sunshine of Your Love".

  • What a nice thing is when good bass players teach to the less good players like me.... great bass player!

  • can you type da scale in a replay cmmt...cuz i barely hear you...nice playin tho

  • 1 b3 4 b5 5 dom7

    In A would be

    A C D Eb E G

  • Should have said b7 above,

  • I don't know who's right. The score book I read said SoYL is in D, while you say A...

  • to c33Four:

Im just referring to the bassline itself, dont remember what key SOYL is in, for this exercise im playing everything i A. Its funny , havent heard the song in 25 years, i guess i better take a listen soon;-)

  • haha I know this is a stupid question, but whats that bass line from orignially in the begining again.

  • to honeytits:

    Cream's "Sunshine of your love"

  • wow, thanks man, im learning and been watching your vids for a while, thanks to God you start talking, makes things easier. please post more. like if you can repost the g scale example like you did in this vid.

  • That lick you always use is called the "slick-lick".

  • I like the poster for Antonioni's "Blow Up" in the background. I just saw that movie about four months ago, and was totally freaked out by it.

Plus, how about seeing really, really young Jimmy Page (before Led Zeppelin) and Jeff Beck in that club scene?

  • loved it :D

  • hey thats was a great lesson, here is some doodling i did awhile back with a blues by charlie parker au privave. please comment thanks

  • Enjoyed the lesson enormously. pls keep them comming...

  • Love the lessons, but please, PLEASE get a small clip on mike. When you play and speak, the bass drowns you out.

These lessons are too valuable not to be able to hear every word.

  • HEY!! I see you got an stingray! nice one...

  • great lesson marlowe, you got me confused when i thought i had it tho... it's minor seventh, not flat right?

  • lol, please ignore me :D i get the english terms mixed up all the time

  • TY MDK...

  • Can you tell me all the notes that are in the blues scales ? (in A for exemple, that would help me !)

P.S. Sorry if you don't very understand what I'm trying to say, cause I'm french :P

  • A (note); C (minor third); D (fourth); D# (blues note); E (fifth); G (minor seventh); A (octave)

  • so this is a 6 notes scales ?

  • eh, yes yes, INDEED !!

  • very good but I had a hard time hearing you when you playing and explaining your position on the neck but very good lesson keep them comming :)

  • Cannot turn up the mike, too much noise

  • Fun and practical. Like the rythems too.

  • Nothing I didn't know already but it was a good leasson. Kinda quiet but keep up the good work, your an inspiration to us all!

  • Very informative MDK... I liked it a lot. You made me realize some things about my fretboard that I didn't not think of before. Cheers.

  • Ooops... I meant "didn't think of before". Haha. Keep it up MDK.
