You look older and cuter here. =) I like your videos, your messages of sexual egalitarianism, and nice voice. You are very easy on the eyes, which helps spread your message. ;)
Jesus Christ tolerates homosexuals but rejects homosexuality as an action, "Amen I say unto you No Adulterer, No Homosexual and No Fornicater will enter the Kingdom of heaven" these are Christs words, not the Church's and don't expect the Church to change them because the Church has no authority to Change the words of all that is truth himself, Jesus Christ.
@priest008 "Amen I say unto you No Adulterer, No Homosexual and No Fornicater will enter the Kingdom of heaven" where did you find this? The word "Homosexual" doesn't appear in the Bibel.
But the following one appears in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS:
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
If you're really religiouse, think about. God will judge about all of us, pray that he will forgive you.
Only in the Old Testament: "when a man lies by another man like by a woman", but the word "Homosexuality" never appears.
But anyway most of the things also in the new testament where written by humans, who didn't understand Jesus right - Jesus never judged about adultery nor homosexuality:
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
and
"judge not lest ye be judged"
This are the only words of Jesus, his message. It's love and not condemn other people.
All we humans are different, this is what makes this world exciting and colorful :)
As long as another persons didn't hurt you, it's not up to you to judge about what this person is doing - it's up to god. If god decided to punish, this will be final.
And I am very sure that everyone who already try to make hell on earth for other people who never did anything wrong to them, they will never go to paradise - otherwise I wont be at the same "paradise" together with such evil people.
Just to say that calling for "tolerance" often shows the opposite. Women, ethnic minorities and homosexuals dont want TOLERANCE, they want EQUALITY. I can't imagine Martin Luther King calling for whites to TOLERATE blacks, but for rights to be treated equally. Just to point out the difference.
dear ROBMUCH,thank u for all that u have done after listening to ur vids i finally was able to tell my parents that i was gay except i had to do it in a note because i knew my homofobic father wuld kick me out any way so i left im only 15 even though my profile says im 28 i kno my mom is so sad but it was the only way i stay in toutch with them and she understands but my dad doesnt so wat can i d plz help me.
I can't believe how many times I hear stories like this. I suggest that you contact the Ali Forney Center for homeless gay youth in NYC. The National Gay & Lesbian Task Force has released a report titled An Epidemic Of Homelessness which estimates that there are 8400 homeless youth in NYC who are gay, lesbian or transgendered. The report estimates that 42%, more than half a million, of all homeless youth nationwide are LGBT.
Not to get caught up in semantics, but personally I bristle a bit at the word "tolerance". Am I particular good person if I say "I tolerate women in the workplace" or "I tolerate minorities living in my neighborhood"? To me, someone saying they "tolerate" me being gay or are "tolerant" of gays in general means they don't really approve of me, but, hey, at least they're not trying to kill me or put me in jail. Not to sound militant, but don't ask for tolerance. Demand equal rights instead.
tolerance is really how we react to it on the outside. they could hate gay people with a passion on the inside, but as long as they tolerate the gay lifestyle you will have equal rights and shouldn't have any worries. unless you have some point ?
I'm simply using the word 'tolerance' to mean the opposite of 'intolerance' which is what the gay community experienced from 52% of the population in California in the prop8 vote. So the first thing to try to do is to remove intolerance, then we can work on acceptance.
I think that the fight for tolerance is in many countries as far as it will go. We have to go for the higher goal now, which in my opinion is acceptance. My family accepts me for who I am and I'd like to see the same attitude from society :) (still a dream).
I spoke about this topic in my 'Breaking Down Stereotypes' video, where we have to aim for acceptance, but before acceptance we have to remove intolerance
We need more straight allies who speak for us and stand with us if we want society to change for more tolerance. I wish I live in a more open-minded area. =(
PS: love the face you made in the end. it's adorable.
Thanks for a great video, Rob. I find it so refreshing to know about someone as young as Pace taking a stand against what he feels is wrong. You are so eloquent and articulate, and a pleasure to know.
I have been a pacebailey sub for awhile now too. I want to say "thanks" for giving Pace's vid the exposure it deserves. I had posted some comments about his Prop8 vid on some channels over the past few days, but your vid and blog will definitely give it and Pace a lot more exposure. I'm happy to see his sub numbers have increased because this young guy deserves the support.
Have you looked at the breakdown of the Prop 8 vote? 61% of people 18-29 voted against while the majority of the next age group also voted against. I definitely agree with people protesting the results, but people our age and a little older know that equality doesn't come in domestic partnerships or civil unions. I haven't done a lot of research on Australia, but isn't the Prime Minister from the Labour party?? Doesn't Labour support more civil rights??
The new Labor government certainly does support more equal rights than the previous Liberal government, but they still have a fairly conservative Christian leader, Kevin Rudd, who is a little steadfast on some issues
Aw, we have a lot of those type of people in my town. We have a psych-ward where they keep a lot of people with mental disabilities. There are some that they allow to go out into the town. They are nice and always interesting as I am sure Judy is.
I saw Pace's video when you put it on your blog but thanks for making a talky blog about it.
While I agree that tolerance is learned, I think its still up to each person to be responsible to learn tolerance and acceptance fore themselves.
I say this because some people will make excuses for their prejudice because, "that's how my family is" or "I was raised that way" and "That's the way things are here"
And is so doing they avid having to deal with their own role in their intolerance.
I agree with you certainly, but as with many things, it is so much easier to learn at an early age, and so much harder to unlearn something at a later time in life. So we should support those that learnt tolerance as a child, so that they don't unlearn it.
But I do agree that people can also unlearn intolerance, but it is just harder to do
Tolerance is indeed taught, but not nearly enough. And unfortunately it is the central tenant of Christianity which its followers most often conveniently forget (or ignore), to the rest of the world's detriment.
Went to Pace's video & left him a nice message. Thanks for the head's up.
Very cool video. It's important that we support the people that support us - they are often attacked and berated terribly just for being open minded and accepting of others.
I understand what you talk about when it comes to tolerance. My parents always raised me telling me that it doesn't matter what other people are like (race, gender, sexual preference) we're all the same when you break it down.
yew...i bet she stinks...

You are all missing the point!
To TOLERATE is to LOVE
TO INTOLERATE is to REJECT
