  • That is, he was the SWP candidate for President in 1976, not 1972, when it was Andrew Pulley/Linda Jenness who were the candidates. The SWO would make a dramatic shift sometime in 77-78, tilting toward an uncritical embrace of the Cuban/Nicaraguan/Grenadan leaderships. But the '76 SWP campaign was clearly a traditional class-independent propaganda campaign for socialisn, and Peter was GREAT.

  • Why doesn't Todd name the organization he was part of? He was a leader of the Socialist Workers Party and ran for President in 1972, with Willie Mae Reed for Vice President, when he was on the ballot in 35 states, and brought the ideas of socialism and opposition to the Vietnam war, to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, in meetings and on TV
