ah yeah, havent read the graphic novels but i heared from a friend who went with me to see the film in cinema about each of the heroes different experiances such as him at 0:45 with being shot due to being stuck from having his cape stuck in the swivelling door, ah good times.
This intro was cool but the time could have been used for more scenes, I mean come on they were alot of missing Rorschach Journals (which last like 1 minute, some of them ) and Veidt was only minutes in the movie, I mean I will love to see his origins of Ozymandias, that's is very interesting and make you see why is he doing his plan. and also captain Metropolis was missing in the reunion scene with his quote: "Somebody has to save the world", which change Veidt's thoughts. Just my opinion.
The scene with the girl putting the flower through the barrel of the gun puts chills down my spine especially when the soldiers fired. In the actual event, the soldier didn't fire but this is still very powerful. I will say that this is by far the best intro to a movie I've ever scene..... EVER!!!
When it shows the Comedian shoot Kennedy its so unrealistic. Like no one heard the gunshot five feet behind them or saw a man with a rifle running. Very ridiculous
So I viewed again. Sorry but you're theory isn't very accurate. Good intro. loved the movie, but that part still just is a unrealisitc. Someone would've turned around. A loud rifle such as that has a lot of firepower equal to alot of sound.
I'm not trying to put you down or anything elo i'm just statin my theory. Who knows? you might be right. This movie really was made to get people's different opinions. Its just one of those controversial topics ya know?
Sally's retirement(Last Supper) scene is a Gay Sandwich, LOL! With Sillohette & the nurse on the one end and Capt Metropolis & Hooded Justice on the other
everyone laughed whenever rorschach would beat up someone specifically in the prison" I' not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me!"
and he is outside Studio 54, a famous club in new york city in the 70s and early 80s. other people on the web have pointed out other famous people in the frame besides the village people. . . pretty cool how much detail is in this movie
You know, there are many pictures of hippie protesters putting a flower in the gun barrel of a military policeman. I don't know if it was a single event, and I don't know if the police actually FIRED on them in real life.
Great intro to a great movie, I hated how people kept on comparing the movie to the novel. I always thought the movie should stand on his own, I actually liked many of the changes they made, what worked in 1985 does not necesarrily work in 2009, Snyder knew this and he did a good job
It IS Castro. If they had wanted to feature Che they would have picture him with his characteristic berret. The point is to make him immediately recognisable.
yeah, he killed him. If you read the comic, he never actually says he did it, but he did say "don't even ask me where I was durring the JFK assasination..."
they could have made some of the scenes more obvious and less confusing to people....(i didnt know it was the comedian either until someone told me)....
but then again... the more i watch it, the more i appreciate the way it was done.
The government had Kennedy assasinated? But that doesn't make any sense! The White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court were all Democratic - or liberal Republican - in 1963!
We're talking about alternative reality though? The government was a poor choice of words - what I didn't spell out was that the Comedian was an agent of the conservatives (i.e. Nixon - who went on to govern three times in this alternative history). Having shot Kennedy they were free to set up conservative government. Like I said - only my understanding - happy to hear a better explanation?
there were factions in the military, CIA, and elsewhere who hated Kennedy (in fact you could argue there are factions in the branches of government that hate every president)... so... that is why people tend to come up with conspiracy theories about it.

that shot is based on a famous actual photograph of VJ day, you can see the sailor from the original photo on the left of the frame, looking on.
this scene blew me away, absolute genius.

Then of course there was Kent State... this sort of thing is not something out of left field.

>>Baron: i hate to tell you but Kennedy didnt shake hands with a magical blue man either. its an 'alternative timeline' of history.
Regardless, Kennedy WAS shot, and Japan WAS nuked. Similarities exist; I just wasn't familiar with the flower-gun scenario.
BaronGrackle 2 years ago
well like i said, Kent State was real, flowers at protests were real, hippies were real, nixon's attitude towards protests was real.
Snyder appears to have somehow combined all these things and modified the facts a great deal to make an impressive and unforgettable film sequence.
