I am using the oil now and it does stink but my husband is indian and he loves the smell. I do however mix it with water and spray it on my scalp then wash it out the next day!
errr hellooo? uv only used it for one day lady! wat da hell dis u expect...dat wen u use it for one day ur hair will be really lustrious?! it dont work like dat...uv got to use it for like months n months to see results!
i used this oil for 1 year when i was 10 since my hair was so damaged from my cousins hair dye experiments. my hair was so dry and short until i used this product. yes it smells gross and its a hassel to sleep with it in your hair before you shower, but because of it, my hair is AMAZING! my friends envy it. its long, thick and shiney. idk about the mineral oil but i used it when i was 10 and nothing happened to me. i think theres amla oil infuson without the mineral oil
I like using the oil but it smells and stings the eyes. But the company has now brought out Amla Gold which does not smell and will not sting the eyes.
I agree about the mineral oil. For amla oil without mineral oil try buying it Lakshmi's Cupboard (an online store) - their's has a sesame seed base. Ingredients: Natural Sesame Seed oil, Ayurvedic Emblica offinalis (Amla), Piper Iongum, Tinospora cordifolia
haha my ex-bf used to use some kinda arabic pomade in his hair that smelt just like amla oil. He thought it smelt fab but the smell irritated me...now I'm using da stuff hoping for healthier hair. Needless to say, I'll be using it at night and washing it out in the morn! Lets see how long I can keep this up!
i have just used it, indeed the smell is strong and somehow unpleasent but it worked great on my hair! the hair is shiny and "elastic". i did not find it hard at all to wash it off (just make sure the first shampooing you do it on dry hair, do not wet it first and then apply shampoo) and the smell went down the drain with the oil leaving my hair feeling great. I think it depends a lot on your genetic and actual health of your hair, definately you should give it a try.
@Beautylogicblog, There's a brand of Amla oil that doesn't have Mineral oil and that made me happy the oil that they mix in the brand has sesame oil. I hate mineral oil period
hi!i personaly love love love prepoo my relaxed hair whith amla oil this stuff really do in my hair what they write in botle or promise to do for your hair.
Well... I bought Amla oil today.. I was planning to put it in my hair tonight and wash it out tomorrow... But now that i have see your video... I think i am gonna pass... I am afraid.. LOL... Love from Amsterdam
Its good to have a variety of opinions, great vids. My hair doesn't love coconut oil but loves macadamia nut oil . . .youtube is great for stuff like this.
Hi u r right iam Indian i hav used dabur amla hair oil its not that good like a pure coconut oil.dabur amla hair oil makes my hair heavy and my hair falls so much while using it,it thinned out my hair,i hav even tried vatika amla oil they are the same.the best is the pure coconut oil(parachute or any other brand u can get it from amazon),i hav now permanently switched to coconut oil never to try any other oil on my hair again,my hair now is thick, black and long without dandruff and super shiny.
i think someone else already mentioned it but you can make your own amla oil by infusing the amla powder in sesame oil or since u love coconut oil you could try infusing amla in coconut oil
and i honestly doubt that indian woman have traditionally used the mineral oil version in their hair it's the amla itself i think
i too hate mineral oil and fragrances so my suggestion would be to use the actual amla powder ;)
I love Amla Oil,I use that brand. I mix one teaspoon or cap in with my V05 conditioner and one cap of castor oil. I spray my ends then coat my hair with my mix. I put a plastic bag on for about 2 hours then rinse out. I followup with a couple caps of Creme of Nature shampoo and it make my hair FABULOUS. My ends are very moist. I still use Parachute Coconut oil as well. My hair is growing really fast.
awesome video..omg u are so right about that brand dabur amla oil i have tried it also and realised that it had mineral oil it didnt make any diffrence to my hair just made it smell weird lol
i love your video's about beauty very informative! i have a question thou what would u reccommend to strengthen your hair? mine used to be soooo strong and now i know its way weak due to all the damages i did to it. which i have stopped but any product you would reccommend to achieve it again?
Amla's awesome, but not in mineral oil! Get pure amla powder (or grind your own dried Indian gooseberries if they're sold near you). If you have (or know anyone who has) problems with hair loss, receding hair line, and/or dandruff, amla powder is a saviour. If you just want shine, coconut works fine. I'll use it once a month, or before swimming. I also like olive oil (less heavy than coconut, easier to work with in colder weather, and makes my coarse hair super soft).
this was very useful because I actually just wanted to buy it. But I think that maybe Indian girls have other gens in their hair so that the hair acts different on it and in this case good. Maybe coconut doesn't work for them like it did for you.
I have a question about the coconutoil, I have it too but oke, my hair is at the ends dry and on my head it gets fat so soon. How do I have to use this?? Because in someway if i put some in my ends it gets an unnatural fat shine.
yeah, the issue with mass marketed indian hair products is mineral oil. the true stuff, however, that you make yourself at home once you picked the indian gooseberry from a tree by your house, is really what these women swear by. my mom used to use hibiscus, coconut oil and amla when she lived there. shed make the oil herself, and her hair was beyond stunning.
another thing u can do is after meal when d blood circulation is really high lie on a bed wid head littel bit tilted down and massage wid ur funger tips....dat will rush blood flow to ur scalp and help wid hair growth...n my previous comment was before i even watche dthe clip so i ur right lady.xxx
ok guys this is wat i think after alot of research correct me if im wrong..coconut oil is d best for hair cos it absorbs in 2hair shafts where is mineral based oils dont and just create a layer, dabur amla oil is suppose 2b d best but stinks gives me headache..i wonder if thats d actual amla fruit smell or its been added cos im thinkin of getting hold of dried amla pieces and heatin it wid coconut oil n dried powder to mix in warm water n use it as a paste any suggestions???
cud be the amla. try buying the fruit and doing a patch test on your forearm before applying to your head. but dabur stuff does come with chemicals in it. you cn buy the amla powder steep in your choice of oil and warm until combined, then decant/strain for when you wanna use. good luck"
This is the cheap Amla oil. I use the pure Amla oil that's based in Sesame Seed Oil. It's really nice but I found I'm allergic to it. Makes me sneeze. I like coconut oil but it's very greasy. Sweet Almond Oil and Castor Oil are my staples. Mixing Coconut Oil and Olive Oil mixed is a good pre-poo treatment. It's also suppose to give you a good hair growth boost when massaged into your scalp.
I bought it off of Amazon. You could also make your own from Amla powder in coconut oil. Or sesame seed oil. let it sit for a while then strain it. Type in amla oil on amazon and find the one without mineral oil. It's a brown bottle. Good luck.
I <3 coconut oil! I have been using it for a few years on & off. Coconut oil absorbs into the skin so well, I sometimes use it instead of lotion. I tried the Amla oil back in 2000 maybe? i feel in deep love with coconut oil about 4 months ago. i use it on my scalp, as a moisturizer for my face & body. Since i starting usiing it on my nails they have completely stopped breaking. i also use it as an undereye moisturizer and it is the ONLY thing that has ever worked for my dry under eye problem. love this stuff!
The thing we use on ouselves actually absorb into our body and into the blood steam so we must think twice of anything we choose to use.
first of all.. you voice sound okay for me.. don't apologize cause we gotta respect you of who you are.. and secondly.. i love your view.. you right.. it does so much build up that i was on the phone with my cousin.. and her hair like yours.. and she was saying to me "salwa.. am washing my hair.. this amla oil is not getting out.. it just i feel its heavy on my hair.. and just don't want to get out.. i gotta play with wide tooth comb to get it out.. " so it just bad.. you know.. and get well!!!
My hair after using this was soft but not shining. I think I stick to the Vatika oil.
