  • Love the song but er can somebody please explain the bit "Who was at the zoo george?"

  • This is so good!

  • genius

  • FANTASTIC, I only came across this because I watched Sondheim's 80th Birthday Celebration. Now I can't get enough of it.

  • jenna russell is a great actress and singer

anyone know where to get her autograph

  • I LOVE STEPHEN SONDHEIM!! and his tongue twisters. ahaha.

  • my favourite play of all time

I've never seen anything like it.

As an artist, I was deeply touched.

  • so MASTERFUL! "I think I'm fainting" gained a new meaning!... its so beautifully sung!

  • I love Jenna in this role. I love Bernadette Peters - she is an amazing actress and her Witch in Into the Woods will never be equaled, but I prefer Jenna Russell in this role. Her voice fills the role better, at least to my ears, and she is much more subtle than Bernadette in the role, which I think is very appropriate. She's also very maternal, which I love. Don't even get me started on how much I prefer Daniel Evans to Mandy Patinkin. Evans is much more real, and he has a better voice.

  • Love this...I think i'm fainting....

  • I saw this with Jenna & Daniel, but damn..... I would have loved to see Raul Esparza as George.

  • lol my mom was in the original cast! Maryann Plunkett! It is sooo cool XD

  • Hmmm....I love Jenna Russell's interpretation of Dot, and her voice, but I do prefer Bernadette Peters' version of this song.

    I still love this though...<3

  • Definitely not like bernadette peters........

  • Well it is your opinion, but this production had a limited run to start with. It closing has nothing to do with it being good or bad. Also do you understnad this work deservingly won the Pulitzer Prize? What didn't work for you? BC I thought it all worked very well.

  • Wicked is so terrible. I actually really like Sunday int he park with george. it's more like a play with music than a musical t me though. I despise Wicked though. Only Kristin Chenoweth can sing that part and Idina deserves better material and not oversimplified lyrics. Sunday is timeless though.

  • worst play since "wicked".... that's kinda funny since it was written 19 years before wicked....I don't know if you're joking or not when you say that you hate it. But I guess if you're not you just don't get it. Sad that these types of shows just go over some people's heads.

  • bigroom1 in my opinion ur completely messed up in the head and to think that wicked was bad is insane and that u didn't like sunday in the park is understandable it's either that u don't like the style of Sondheim or ur just to dumb to understand the complexity and meaning of the show and how Sondheim's music revolves around the show

  • wicked is a wonderful musical and so is this

  • saw it, when I was in New York... It was great!

Love the "painting" he did with the people in the end.

  • what date is this?

  • I saw this on Saturday and I LOVED it! Jenna and Daniel are gonna win the Tonys! I met Daniel after the show and he's so sweet and humble.

  • i saw the revival yesterday and i mean no one can ever live up to bernadette or mandy but daniel evans and jenna russell were still amazing! their chemistry together was great. i definately recommend it. "we do not belong together" was astonishing!!

  • What happened to the musicians? They really skimped on the scoring with this new production. Where is the soaring French horn that adds drama to the finales? How can you have a musical without musicians? This production is down to six musicians. The use of electronic accompaniment sounds unpleasant and leaves something to be desired. Definitely a step down from the original produciton.

  • it's not full orchestra, which is VERY disappointing. it's violin, cello, clarinet and piano.

  • oo I saw this on sunday- it's amazing...:)

  • I seen this in West End at Wyndhams 18 months ago and it was so fantastic I travelled to New York to see it the Day it opened. The have made very small production changes. If you live in NY or are going there don't miss this production it is magical

  • Amazing. I saw this on Broadway last weekend.

  • same here with this cast

  • I just got back from New York today, and saw this last night.

Amazing show, I loved it, though the people I was there with didn't like it too much.

  • the couple that sat next to me left during intermission! then again they came in wondering who stephen sondheim was sooo yeahh haha

but everyone else around me was in tears. the whole theatre was on its feet by the last chord of sunday

  • i love jenna russel, she's brilliant. and you dont have to compare her to bernadette peters, they're to different performers with two different interpriations of Dot.

  • test

  • And I just looked it up. Jenna didn't when a Tony, she won Olivier Award. So they weren't even nominated for the same award. They couldn't be, Bernadette was on Broadway, Jenna was in London. Wow get your facts striaght before you start something.

  • not to mention the fact that Jenna did it last year and Bernadette did it in the 80's. :P But Jenna Russel is coming to Broadway soon with the production, as it's being transferred. and I think the interpretation it quite different between the two. I for one prefer Jenna's, but I can understand why people prefer bernadette's also.

  • She's okay but Bernadette peters is by far the best dot

  • a note: bernadette peters didn't win the tony, jenna russell did win. and you cannot judge a performance by one video, or even a recording, you have to see it. so don't make such strong comments without having seen both performances, since we ALL heve seen bernadette's... not to say bernadette isn't amazing, because i think i'm one of the original bernadette fans still out there.

  • Wow it's just an opinion. I've seen Bernadette and I think she was perfect for the role. And if you ask Mr. Stephen Sondheim (AKA the Writer) he'll agree that Bernadette's performance is the best. Infact it's his favorite performance of anything he's written. Why? He partly wrote it for her. But hey just ask Sonheim or James Lipine (the writer/director), they'll agree with me. And they have seen both performances.

  • And just because she won the Tony and Bernadette didn't, doesn't automatically make her better. They weren't nominated against each other.

  • @tunab13 Jenna Russell didn't win a Tony for this role...

  • @tunab13 Um neither Jenna Russell nor Bendette won the tony for this role/

  • @tunab13 Jenna Didn't win. Pats did.

  • @MrHuggy05 no she did not win the tony neither of them did .

  • i fell in love with this musical the first time i saw it and this song is absolutely infectious!

  • Jenna Russel....amazing...amazing...amazing!!! Up there with Clare Burt!! So gutted we missed it! have old vids of her school day shows at SYTS. She was always amazing. Emotion.x

  • The most beautiful show I've ever seen in my life!

  • This production had the most AMAZING set- all the projections. Stunning.

  • i went to see i. was blown away it was amazing. i wish the run had been longer i would loved to have seen it twice!

  • Ah, beautiful! "Sunday" is one of my all-time favorite musicals, and I think Jenna Russell is an absolutely fantastic Dot!
