ok ok yo i need your help super bad now please answer asfast as u can cause it's an emergancy helppppppp "umm how did u get it to follow your finger like that it is so cooooooooooool." love the video please answer back
@xyang9374 lol I don't really remember. But generaly, if you do something frequently, animals will learn and will know when you are going to do it next time. For example, I have got 3 fish tanks. Whenever I open the covers, the fish know that it's feeding time and they all swim to the surface and keep their heads upwards waiting for me to drop food. Know what I mean? ;)
they don't really like the flakey food so i feed mine the roundish food...he LOVES it soooo much...my cat doesen't pay much attention to it :P :D but i love EUGENE MY BETTA FISHY(iys totally carnivorous!!!) har har har... cool .....a little
You commenters don't have to be rude - there a lot of misconceptions about betta out there.
First - this bowl is too small and sparse - he needs at leas t2.5 gallons and he needs some plants or somewhere to hide.
second - yes, he is overfed. In the wild they get food when it comes to them so they will eat non stop in captivity -- it's hard to resist that little wiggle dance - I know - but yes, around 3 pellets is good =)
#1) don't overfeed! Feed them 2-3 presoaked pellets (depending on how big the betta fish is) twice a day. Scoop out any pellets that the betta doesn't eat
@TMZtheBAMF That fish died anyway. Probably because of the lack of space, heater, filter, etc. I do not keep fish in such places anymore. I've got 3 tanks of different sizes equiped with filters, heaters, air pumps, decoration, plants, etc. and fish rarely die. I even breed some of them. At some point I had about 15 fish that were bred in my tanks.
Ok, i just looked at your profile, and you feature a baby fish killing an adult fish, and you sat there and videoed the whole thing. If you care about fish, why didnt you stop it??? He was obviously being torchured. I would have separated them.
Remember their stomachs are only the size of their eye.
A 1 gallon bowl is ok for most bettas, but bigger is good too. As long as your betta is happy, eating, colorful, and active.
I dont know why your other died when u switched tanks. maybe you didnt use good conditioner, or maybe a fast temperature change, lack of friendly bacteria. I use tap water and PRIME brand conditioner. Make sure the water pump isnt noisy or doesnt cause heavy currents.
They only need like 3 max , of those pellets per feeding. Dont over feed him. His belly should be only slightly rounded, not sticking out.
One day a week, maybe sunday, let him clean out and dont feed him. Then on monday feed him a tiny piece of the inside of a cooked pea. Peas clean them out and arent to be used as a daily food. Also, they cant digest the skin so only use the inside.
Also, they need variety or they get constipated. Also give them dried bloodworms and flakes to vary the diet.
When I but some fish food on my finger and put it above the surface level, my betta just flares up? Is it bad and is there a way that he won't flare up and be more relaxed? and also I would give mine food but it would spit most out.
Well, I have no idea why your betta flares up. I have got 3 new bettas (2 males and 1 female) and the males are so friendly, they let me touch them while they are swimming, and once I open the top of the tank, they know that it's food time, and when I get closer (my head, or my hand, or any part of my body) they start jumping! Sometimes I get my tongue close to the syrface, they jump and bite it ;)
Plants , hiding will increase happiness, also, try getting frozen bloodworms, its liek, $5 for a family sized chacolate bar sized block. Your fish will love em.
i want a blue one, but the red ones are really beautiful as well, if its blue ill call it ingo (its a book series) if its red ill call it comet, and if its any other colour ill call it..... i could go on forever!! ill think of one at the time i get it!! lol. x chloe x
Thats a nice betta, but you need to get him a bigger tank. See, betta's lke their tanks LONG NOT HIGH. Just like a 5 gallon would probably make him happier. Not trying to burst your bubble or anything, just saying.
My other betta would do that too. I guess my new betta would try to learn that. I don't keep them together. They are in the same room except far from each other so that they won't try to fight each other. It would cause the betta some stress.
i got a betta thats gonna look like urs. ive had it for about 2 years. its startin to get the blue tail but its not fully there =D cant w8 till its like urs. BLUE OWNS!
LOL that's cute :D every betta I had, they always came closer to me whenever I came close to them to feed them. Those creatures are really smart and human friendly. Actually almost all of my fish move towards me whenever I get close to the tank to feed them. And it's ok with most of them if I touch them, just like I used to do to my cat ;)
Sorry to hear about your fish... Please, do not put 2 Bettas together, they will fight to death (male will kill female). I found a lot of usefull information about Bettas on fishlore dot com. Good luck with your new guy!
To be honest, the fish died a few days after I added him to the bigger tank that I have..I should have kept him in his original house. Although it was small and cold, but he was GREAT and enjoying it, just like he looked in this video.
I got another betta (same color), and I got him a seperate 5 gallon tank with heater, filter and air pump. Soon will get him a wife. Let's just make sure he's comfortable in the tank :)
i already have a betta (male) living in a jar. It holds 1/2 gallon.. I did research and read that male betta cannot be kept together... if i get him a tank, he's going to be lonely.. i don't want to get a separator because then , there might not be enough room for him to swim.. Any ideals and or advice? Just leave the entire tank for him?
Bettas are solitary fish; they don't get 'lonely'. People assume they will and try to get them 'friends'...and usually end up with 1 or more dead fish.
i meant fin-rot, you need to go to petsmart and buy antibiotics to boost the water (if he is not already dead BTW or very sick to the point of no return), plus the fish needs a heater and some plants! If you cannot care properly for these little souls, do NOT buy them and kill them with your negligence. If you need a decorating object, find something else to decorate your space. This fish is not properly cared of as I can see on this clip
Hey! First of all, read my comment, then come and shout at me like that!!
Second, I NOT NOT buy pets for decoration and then kill them, so watch what you're saying!
I have had many pets in my life like I said, fish, cats, squirells, birds, frogs, turtles, etc and I always took good care of them, but if they complained to you, and you think yourself their lawyer to talk me like that, then that's a different case!!
for me i have had 4 bettas in my life and they have all had fin rot at some point and it goes away and comes back but as long as it doesnt get too bad then i dont worry
If he is so 'cool' with that small bowl, then why is his caudal fin rotting away, eh? Obviously not taking care of him as well as you think. Do some proper research on caring for bettas, such as the need for a larger tank, an aquarium heater, etc.
Well, I can't see anything rotting away. He's been like that since he was brought. But thanks for the advice, appreciate it and will make sure he's ok.
did it hurt?? i have one and i want to experament but om younger than 13

You shouldnt put your fingers in the water because it could put disease in it or dirty the water; i also see you like to overfeed too.
