I never had any redline HW because they were gone before I was born. But I used to get a HW's car every time I would go to the store, we're talking mid-80's-early 90's. I really wish I would of kept them in the packaging.
I have the cars @ 0:49, 1:10, 1:24, 3:16 ... For me i dont like how they look like but since i found out they were rare, i should probably sell them in an auction xD
I've been hunting the videos for the Deora because I couldn't remember it's name. Next question is; did anybody build a real one? If they did I want one...I had the purple one with the surfboards in 1969 but my brother stood on it and it exploded. grrrrrr
Hi, I just recently found one of my Hot Wheel car's and am wondering a little more about it. The model name is Sweet 16, on the bottom it says Mattel, Inc, 1970. CHINA SWEET 16 it's color is a sparkly gold. I looked Sweet 16 and it came up with blue greens and reds between 100 dollars and 750 dollars. I was wondering if anyone knew the price of the gold one ITS IN !!!!MINT!!!!! CONDITION!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY MINT CONDITION the red lines on the wheels are PERFECT AS WELL AS THE PAINT. Thank you.
@MrGuitarphenomenon yours is a reproduction. The original redlines from that era were either produced in the US or Hong Kong, and will say so on the base. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...
does anyone remember if the heavyweights were sold for the same price as a regular redline. i never saw one as a kid in the store in the sixties. i remember k-mart sold them from behind a counter. you had to get a clerk to show them to you. dad bought me one every friday. those were the days...................
great vid! enjoyed reading the snippets! i miss the redlines & the orange track! hours of enjoyment with my 2 older brothers constantly changing the tracks for different jumps/races/crashes! Man,those were the days....actual real hands on play.poor kids today have no idea what it was like to look through the sears cataloge that used to come out every year up through the 70s.Sorry i'm ramblin man i'm just remmeniscing. Your vid, affected me. thanx again! 5stars
I bought The Deora for my first Hotwheels car when they were first relased. At the time (I was 9 yrs. old) I couldn't decide which one to get. It was between the Deora and the Silhouette (which I bought with my next round of allowance.) thanks for the details

LaddyDongdegs,Kidney bean base are a very early run US Camaro that came in antifreeze only. They are very rare and like HK Camaros, they have 4 holes in the base that are unique because they are shaped like kidney beans.
I have that Camaro in olive. What do you mean by n"kidney bean" base? Do you mean the one that I have where you can see the torsion bars, or the later ones where you couldn't?
My brother has a 1967 Deora 1. It has an image of an astronaut and alien on it. On the side it says, "Return of the Fifty Foot Moon Maiden! In 3D."
I can't find images of it anywhere or what it's worth. Perhaps you can tell me?
