The 2 best military bands in the world are Marines. USMC and Royal Marines Band.

I'm poole and i ship out in march. I just graduated from high school. I also play the trumpet I was 5th chair symphonic band my senior year. I'm didn't choose band as one of my options but i think i want to try and see if i can make it. The only problem is that i my private lesson teacher at the time was telling me i need to change my ambisher so i can get more range and endurance and better tone in the upper range (5th line f# and up) do you think i have a chance of making it.

The school of music is 6 months long and is there to make sure you are proficient at your instrument, but the instructors are well aware that many are just coming out of high school and haven't player there horns in months or as was in my case, 6 months because of boot camp and MCT, but that is why the school is so long and the primary focus is in the practice room on the horn.

I have been playing drums for over 30 years. I did a ton of rudimentary march drumming. These guys are the best. Any United States military marching band is disciplined and top notch. The drum line is always perfect. One of my favorite methods to play is rudimentary drumming. I love drumming to Sousa marches. AWESOME!!

OK, but nowhere near as good as the British Royal Marines. The music here is competent, but no more and the band performs no complicated evolutions whatseover.

German and Finnish military bands perform quite remarkable evolutions. Check them out!

@jarekgar1 This is a composite of four field bands. To compare the field bands with Her Majesty's Own isn't exactly fair. If you want a fair comparison, take a look at The President's Own -- the United States Marine Band in Washington, DC.

I can say what I like about the US Marine Corps as I live in a country founded on the principle of "FREE SPEECH." Since 1219 the Magna Carta was signed and applies to America as a basis of free speech but u dont practice it! It is such an important document that it was removed to Washington for safe keeping during WW2

The US supported British military in every aspect, including diplomacy, diplomatic pressure by General Haigh, weapons, AIM missiles, military intelligence, moral support. America are our best ally and friend. There is one occasion that we let you Yankees down & that was in Vietnam. We should have sent a couple of military divisions. But our Prime Minister was too left wing!

They truly ARE one of the only "bands" that can absolutely kick your ass; they're just too disciplined to do so. Many years in drum corps, and I've never seen these guys outplayed yet.
