I dug out some old Hit Parade type music charts from back in the day, and this song was on our local Top 50 at one of the more popular radio stations, debuting the week of February 23-29, 1968 at #44. Went to #38 the next week, then slipped to #41 and disappeared after that. I can't say I remembered the song at all, so it was great to find it here.
This track has such a great sound for the period. Really makes me realise that there was real quality in the Australian music scene (and still is of course!) Great post. BTW..were The Groop the backing band on the recording of Real Thing by Russell Morris?
loved this song should have been huge in usa but sadly didn't do anything. It was the theme to tv show king of pop for some years Ronnie Charles still singing in australia great voice was in uk band axis but can't find anything on them?
