@sheddedtears123 At launch, some PS3's could play PS2 games because they were installed with a chip called the Emotion Engine, which is basically the same as the PS2's CPU. Those versions could basically play all PS2 games.

There were also other versions that were able to emulate the PS2 through software (which is how the PS1 emulation works, though the PS1 is emulated successfully), but these weren't as effective because they didn't have the PS2's CPU inside.

The front side might have it due to some silver on the front but it wouldn't have that red looking kind of shine like the back side would. I could be wrong but it looks like it is on its back side.
