  • How do you know what "type" you are?

  • Thanks Doc! Very appreciated......

  • Great tutorial, like what Ive read about coconut oil and consume it myself. I really loved the videos I saw where coconut oil reversed alzheimers disease and dementia :)

  • Coconut oil is delicious. I take 1/2 spoon of unrefined organic coconut oil every day and also i take some Fermented Cod Liver oil, wheat grass, maca, spirulina and chlorella that i purchase from you...And I Feel Great!!!

  • @OccultSpirit and HEMP OIL

  • I heard that if you take a spoon a day since you are born, you can live 120 years easy

  • @Anjobaba Let us know how long you live doing that. OK ? "Roles Eyes"

  • some great inforamtion here thanks

  • im confused, you said it's healthy for you as long as it's not heated or cooked and then you can cook with it?

Please explain, I would like to introduce coconut oil into my diet.

  • @realblackhart Cooking with oil is generally bad, but some types are worse than others. If you have to . . . . coconut is better than something like canola.

  • @realblackhart I'm no expert, but from what I've gathered coconut oil is great to cook with because you can use it at higher heats without making the oils unhealthy (I forget the term for what happens when some oils are heated). What I think he is saying here is that UNCOOKED coconut oil is very good for all the reasons stated. It may not have those same health benefits if heated. But that does not mean that it is unhealthy if heated.

  • i enjoyed this vid

  • i take extra virgin coconut oil as softgels for brain fog ( clouded thinking ) and it helps alot i've been having clear moments since the first day i've taken it. :-)

  • Hi. I'm a big advocated of Raw Food and a high fat diet (aside from Trans). I use coconut oil, but don't know if I'm getting enough. I drink Raw Milk and Cream, Raw Steak, Raw Eggs, lots of fats, and I never felt better. Would a teaspoon a day be sufficient enough?

  • I'm a fan

  • Will Coconut oil raise cholesterol levels? Thank you.

  • I take omega 3 supplement, ca I also take coconut oil?

  • @madeline19591 Sure!

  • To find the test, go to his site and scroll down until you see a box filled with blue type in various sizes. Click on Nutritional Typing. That will take you to register, once you register for FREE, take the test. I just did it, it's great!

  • I like this guy very clear and highly informative!

  • I suffered fairly serious eczema on the face for nearly 10 years. I tried everything but coconut oil so far is the only thing I have found that gets rid of it.

  • hi dr mercola, i was wondering if coconut oil/whole coconuts interfere with omega 3 uptake since they are full of omega 6.

  • Dr. Mercola is awesome. That fake non practicing psychiatrist by the name of Stephen Barrett "M.D." went after in and lost in court and now he's going to prison... sad

  • Please check if you ever take antibiotic Levaqin, Avelox, Cipro, Floxin you can the brain fog and more simptoms from that. I have the problem 3 years.

  • I was looking for the test to find if one is a protein type or carb type on your site and couldn't find it. Could you provide a direct link? Thank you!

  • Great video man.

  • I don't understand how to use coconut oil to my foods. Let's say I want to make eggs in the morning and instead of using extra virgin olive oil how am I supposed to use the coconut oil if it's not oily enough because it's just thick after I take a scoop full.

  • "For most of us, it is a solid at room temperature." I guess it isn't for those of us who live in an oven. lol

  • You're very ignorant, you know that? Sure, it's saturated, but it's MONO-saturated fat - which means it's a HEALTHY fat unlike the stuff in French fries and burgers today.

  • sorry is there somebody who could summerize what has he said????

  • How about black seed oil benefits?

  • I love this Doc too. He's got integrity!

  • wow where im from we cook with it and noting

  • I love this Doc, we need more like him!!! Wonderful:)

  • Thank you <3

  • There are no "protein/carb types", we're all basically the same. When switching to less carb, more fat your body will just need about a week to adapt for the different fuel source.

  • Wait so basically coconut oil have fat in them which makes you healthy but fat? i don't get it. But what i do get is how healthy it can give to a body including the hair treatment which i have read about.

  • My question is if you think I should stop or cut back on taking the coconut oil because of the low libido causing effects. I usually just take a big tablespoon of coconut oil and eat it; I usually don't cook with it if that makes any differences.

    BTW I'm 28, 5'9 185, and have a healthy excercise routine.

  • Hi dr. Mercola. I've been taking your miricle whey products for a while and have really enjoyed the benefits of taking a quality whey protein powder. My question is in regards to coconut oil. I've taken coconut oil off and on for about a year and get many of the benefits that it provides, except one thing. It seems as though my sex drive has gone from very high to somewhat low every since I started taking coconut oil. If I take too much sometimes I get hyperthyroid symptoms. cont.

  • I GET SICK WHEN I TAKE IT!

  • THKS DR Mercola, Coconut Oil is fantastic for body and brain and so easy to use.

  • I make my own chocolate using = part coconut oil to cocoa powder, add some stevia and some vanilla and put in freezer to harden

  • @carissahcg i would love to try this.... could you tell me how much coconut oil cocoa powder and stevia to mix together.

  • Can i take Coconut oil plus apple cider vinegar daily? Is that any problem mixing both of them?

  • In india coconut oil is used extensively for the hair, skin .it works wonderfully. Many people use it for cooking too

  • thank you very much for info

  • I make eggs with coconut oil......Yummy!

  • I warm up some coconut milk with honey on the stove top and have it for breakfast when I have a cold. I rarely get sick, maybe once every three years, but this works every time. Coconut has an anti-microbial property in addition to being comfort food. It's vegetarian chicken soup.

  • How do I determine whether I'm a protein type or a carb type?

  • @giovanone take the free test on right side of my home page at mercola.com

  • @mercola I dont see any test on the right side of home page!

  • @mercola I dont see any test on the right side of home page!

did a search on your web site and found it but your site stinks - I got a popup that blocked what I was trying to read and it wouldnt go away.

  • @mercola unfortunately I think the link has been moved or removed. Do you know if this is still available?

I suffer from fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome and I believe coconut oil might be of great help.

  • @mercola couldnt see that test, nov 2011

  • @mercola I couldnt see anything there on your home page about a free test for what type you are? please can you advise where this test is and under what heading? thanks.

  • I just made chicken with coconut oil, I can tell you this I was weak, and within an hour my energy levels came back up. Plus its great for the skin, and even toenail fungus!

  • @studentoflife01 he has another video on coconut oil with 300 and something thousand views.

  • i recently realized that i never ate oil! i'm so used to the idea that its bad (even though i never totally bought that) that I inadvertently avoided it. i've been putting it on my food after it's done cooking (unless i'm making an egg, then i use a bit in the pan). eating oil has reduced my appetite too, most of my appetite was reduced by avoiding msg though :)
