  • Political advisor of LBJ: - "We can't say that, Lyndon....'It's not true'.

Lyndon Johnson : - 'Of course it's not, but let's watch the fucker deny it.'

  • It reafirms the adage " If your explaining, your losing ".

  • @boscoesarmy is there a difference between defending and explaining and how would one know the difference

  • @boscoesarmy *you're

  • @DickHead69able The spelling Police are on the beat tonight :) Good man yourself. Bet if makes you feel like "your" on a higher intellectual level the me lol

  • This whole Sean Gallagher episode is very depressing. I can't help wondering how many young people voted for this guy just because he was on television. There's a very considerable number of young people out there today who associate 'being on telly' as a massive achievement gives the person involved a huge and undeserved amount of credibility. And should not the presidency be 'earned' rather than 'won' . I reckon Higgins earned it. Gay Mitchell should sue his therapist!

  • u and karan are out of a job hahaha

  • sean u have to have a good memory to be a good liar and u are are clearly a bit slow u made a total balls thats why ur still walking round blackrock with no job!!

  • ne-ne ne-ne, ne-ne ne-ne bag man! bag man, bag man, bag man!

  • the irony of it all. I was sick of all the bullshit and headlines about these candidates and them constantly refuting allegations but it has all paid off! Imagine this guy had become president, my god.

  • A Fianna Failer in sheeps clothing

  • gallagher is a liar,a slimy eel,a disgrace,a rubbish excuse for a politican, slimy business man who has shown that fianna fail is alive and well.im so glad we didnt vote for this bald bastard who has no class, honour, hes a scum bag........

  • Michael Martin and the Fianna Fail family can thank their lucky stars that this clown was not elected president of our unfortunate country if his blatant lies and misrepresentation of himself and his past had come to light after his election to such a high office, Ireland would once again be the laughing stock of the western world. But by far his worst sin was treating the people of Ireland like dumb fools. The Irish public will never forget how Fianna Fail destoryed a country and it's people.

  • @river2walk Oh but they will, and many already have done - as was evidenced by the number of votes this man got. Such a shame. You can only thank Martin McGuinness, ironically.

  • @sebo6able Indeed you are correct! How lucky we were that Martin McGuinness decided to raid down south. He certainly did the state some service although his motives as usual were far from noble. What I'll remember most from this election apart from the 'skinning of Gallagher' was the unbelievable behavior of Gay Mitchell. I'm left wondering how he ever got elected to the Dail in the first place. He is without doubt the unpleasant and off-putting person I've ever seen in politics or out!

  • @river2walk I agree with you Riverwalk but to be honest the scarier thing was that he still did get a fairly high amount of votes considering what FF done to the country and it becoming clear that Gallagher was lying. To be honest the Irish are somewhat stupid when it comes to politics because we can as a nation be easily talked around something and Gallagher's pathetic performance proves just that, but make no mistake about it, those FF bastards will get in again, sadly.

  • I'm really peed off he didn't ask me for a donation. I have so much money resting in my account that was lodged there by mistake.

  • hes a liar,

  • a liar keeps nodding, how did this fat necked shyster even get so far untill mcguinness put manners on him

  • I probably would have coughed up 5 grand NOT to have my picture taken at a FF do.

    @CycleGranCanaria

sounds like haughey being born in two places at once that! donegal claims him aswell as Cavan.

  • I'm from Cavan, same as Gallagher, and I recognise a Cavan criminal when I see and hear one. The same focusing on semantics as if they were high legal minds discussing affairs of state, instead of wriggling on the hook of criminal behaviour.

  • I am not getting this ... He was part of a fund raiser for a political party and called to a house to collect a cheque for 5 grand for that fundraiser. It is a bad thing that any political party has so much secrecy surrounding accounts and "envelopes" but lets not kid ourselves here ,.... how is that any different to what EVERY other party does exactly ? Its very late and maybe my tiredness is making me miss something ,,,, but I dont see what he did wrong.

  • @irishguyhere123 Yeah, but he lied about it, that's the point.

  • @irishguyhere123 Why did he deny it then?? Only a guilty man runs from the law! The fact is that he was a member of a corrupt political party and he tried to cover up this fact with lies that eventually caught up with him and completely exposed him as a fraud - thats what he did wrong!

  • "I do not involve in negative campaigning... This was a legitimate and legal fundraiser. No banks were robbed and no members of the Gardaí were killed during it." Not the most positive campaigning I have ever heard. Hopefully, the Irish people are not stupid enough to have elected him as their president earlier today.

  • Memories of like Bertie and Haughy right here, birds of a feather

  • Sean is on a suicide run, going before a real Journalist.

Surely the Fianna Fail grass roots are embarassed with Gallagher.

Reminds me of Bill Clinton, I had Oral Sex, but that's not Sex. or I took a hit of the joint but I didn't inhale. Sean will have to emigrate after all this.

  • u just fudged u buddy ha ha

  • Martin McGuinness never had a bad word to say about Sean Gallagher when Sean was trailing him in the presidential race. McGuinness put the boot in when he seen Sean was miles ahead and on his way of winning and the only way McGuinness could stop him was by bring up dirt to destroy Gallagher. McGuinness has used dirty tricks all thought the presidential race to damage the hopes of the other candidates. People don't let McGuinness away with this and please vote for Gallagher. He did nothing wrong

  • @DJEMMEY25 And Fianna Faíl did not destroy your economy either, right?

If McGuinness had said nothing, you would have a Fianna Faíl man in the highest office, after he was a part of the golden circle that has led to mass emigration once again. He has done you a favour.

The fact that so many ppl are willfully ignorant is a huge problem, everywhere.

  • As Dobbo said its a load of huff over nothing, Looking at Gay Mitchells promo clip there. What an uncharismatic man. Really a president is suppose to inspire people that softly softly catchy monkey approach just isn't working for you Gay. . Dana what a moron assination attempt come on Dana no one cares that much, Mr McGuinness is in dreamland if he thinks hes setting foot in the Aras. vote for Gallagher I don't think I wana hear the other two boys receiting poetry and Quoting Oscar Wilde.

  • @Peadermac better quoting oscar wilde than swapping envelopes with fuel smugglers

  • Thanks Mr Newlineman I don't blame you for your cynical attitude to Gallagher especially when he's name is mentioned in the same sentence as envelope and Fianna Fail. However personally I genuinely believe this guy is a good guy. However he did handle the issue on both the frontline and with Dobbo atrociously. I think he will still sway my vote and I hope sneaky tactics by McGuinness (who was always a no-hoper) doesn't hurt his chances too much.

  • Martin McGuinness is the real sneak here. Gallagher is overall a good guy but he is an enterpreneur and this is merely another entrepreneurial venture for the guy. Higgens is obviousley an honest guy has served his country well but I think he is a little old and poetic for the job maybe a younger Higgens was a more suitable. I think Norris is by all means a good man that has accomplished good things in his political career and would represent the country well . Forget the other chancers.

  • @Peadermac Higgins is only 70. Don't be covinced by Gallagher's spoofery. He has been concealing info on questionable business dealings for over a week now. Something is up here.

  • This is embarrassing

  • gallagher is a lying cunt.....vote for higgins

  • GO ON DOBBO!

God I hope this guy doesn't get elected.

  • Dirty rat Gallgher, we need to remove this scum ie Aherne, Padraig Flynn, and now Gallagher Our country can do better

  • TV license money well spent

  • this person is obviously a shinner, looking at the videos that he uploads.Sinn fein are smearing Sean Gallagher because he is top of the polls. Why didnt this info come before final debate? More questions need to be asked about martin mcguiness past. Ive never voted fianna fail, but Sean Gallagher had no part to play in those bad decisions within the hierarchy of fianna fail. He is tryin to instill positivity and to focus on getting business into this country. sinn fein is all about negativity

  • @MrNewlineman Look out folks! its another under cover Fianna Failler. Or perhaps the same one...

  • Actually i was a fine gael voter. Its not like other parties dont fundraise, im sure all the other candidates have been involved in fundraising in the past. Why does this information just conviently come now, just before the election? If higgins was ahead in the polls, i bet that information about his past would come to the public attention.

Sinn fein would do anythin to win, it doesnt matter who they slur. U dont see michael d and all the other candidates doing that.

  • @MrNewlineman Its the fact that the inbred fundraising was with Fianna Fail, that he had more to do with the Fianna Fail party then he is letting on, at that time when there corrupt ties to big business brought us to the doldrums.

Gallagher is also concealing info on questionable business dealings. Watch his interview on Pat Kenny morning Ireland and his interaction with Glenda Lynch. Do some research through the irish indo/times and political blogs. Watch vincent browne. Don't buy his BS.

  • @MrNewlineman Higgins has been in politics/participating in various elections fo decades, so has Gay Mitchell. I'm sure there would be more scrutiny on their foibles if they were in poll position (which is only fair in my book) but given their long careers in the political sphere if some serious skeleton was in the closet it would have come out by now.

I recommend you vote for Higgins. He is arguably the least worst of the candidates. and he is the only one who can catch up to Gallagher.

  • Sean Gallagher is still the only credible candidate in this campaign and has done nothing wrong. Sean has been upfront in all comments he made throughout the campaign and this is typical of Sinn Fein. How dare they continue to cheer themselves up after dismal polling by smearing other candidates. Down through the years we see the same thing over and over again. Martin McGuinness was actually changing my opinion of him over the past few days but last night he showed his true colors once again.

  • @yellowcats14 the only credible candidate?? he clearly lied is that not something wrong?? can you please tell me what Michael D Higgins has done which has destroyed his credibility?

  • @yellowcats14 Only credible candidate? nonsense. Higgins is the man. are you a sleazy under cover Fianna Failler too?

  • Just another Fianna FAILURE peddling snake oil and bullshit.

An "independent candidate" who happens to collect €5000 a head on behalf of FF and crows about his association with the dark filthmaster Champagne Charvet Charlie Haughey.

Reminds me of Nixon - "I am not a crook!".

  • @SickOfFiannaFAIL There is only one way to deal with gangsters.
