I wish i could get into pistol but them being so inaccurate and only being used for home defense doesnt give me too much reason to collect pistols. I like long range accuracy. Maybe if i lived in the country it would be different. Looks like a solid handgun

@Tonesnob72 Pretty hard to carry a rifle everywhere you go. And a long gun sucks for rapid/close quarters maneuvering of yourself and the weapon. I love my long guns, but they serve a limited purpose. The handgun is always there. (long guns for home defense and possibly one in the vehicle at times)

Very pleased with this weapon. First rapid fire sequence I went through sold me on it. Firing from the holster at 15ft, 10rds in less than 10secs = 5in group (yes, all 10rds in a 5in group). And that was with the shorter 13rd mag which provided less gun to grip. Not saying it's better than any other gun, so don't get your panties in a bunch all you Glock owners. Just sayin it works perfect for me.

Didn't think I'd be a fan of the safety(s) on this gun, but once I fired it my opinion changed quickly. With a CC weapon, I want it to be ready to fire as quickly as possible, and it's ready the moment it's in my hand .... no thumb safety to worry about flipping. That extra fraction of a second it takes to flip off a thumb safety may be the difference between eating a round, and eating your next meal.

Do you like this or the G26 better? I just got a G26 and really like it, but I have shot an XD40 and XD9 and really liked the trigger on that. I personally think XDs look fugly, but the compact for some reason doesn't look that bad in person. I know that shouldn't really matter, but just a personal thing.

But it works very well in application. I shoot the best with Glocks. This little pocket rocket outshoots

my HK USP 9mm compact (in my hands that is).

100% of the time that people who hear about GLOCK from TV, come to my range and I let them shoot a Glock 26 and then a XD SC9, and they ALWAYS say: "Wow, this XD kicks Glock's arse! I shoot it better and it is cooler looking in person." That is ALWAYS the response from a 100% "unbiased" non-gun person. I guarantee you that if you give a "Glock Person" a Good 1911 and an XD, Glock will CEASE to be their "Favorite" gun. Most "Glock People" only have Glocks. Ask Hickock 45, 1911 is his FAV :)

The subcompact is awesome for carrying concealed. I still prefer the standard 4 inch barrel for added stability and increased accuracy at longer distances. I still carry my 4 inch xd with me every where i go no matter what. A couple of times I almost needed it because of crazy ass people seem to always want to start a problem everywhere i go.

@gfitzz28 Actually if you did any research the springfield xd 9mm is not a springfield made gun. Its a croation made gun also called the ps2000. The springfield armory simply adopted this pistol which has been around since the 60's. Glock actually copied their design from the original design from the ps2000. Technically the xd model is even older than glock.

@DJSexLeopard Yes, I did some research.....I looked on the top of the slide of all of my XD's, where it says "Made in Croatia" - LOL - Springfield XD Benefits are also a STEEL Trigger, STEEL Grip Safety, STEEL Guide Rod. GLOCK has a PLASTIC Trigger, No GS, PLASTIC Guide Rod, and a HUGE VOID in the back of the Grip, thus having to buy a $12-15 "butt plug", in order to keep crap out of there!! I DO like Glocks, but XD is a better "quality" piece, and to that, there is NO argument.

I really wanted a glock 19, but I got a feel of one at at a gun show and it didn't fit in my hands and felt very uncomfortable. I tried the XD-9 and it was a perfect fit, so I got the XD9.

Beware of this pistol. I owned one and the trigger safety caused a callus on my trigger finger after 300 rounds of shooting. I have fired 500 rounds at one sitting from a Beretta 92fs no callus. The guys that work the range told me that on some guys they see this happen to the finger due to the XD's trigger safety.

I love this gun. It's accurate, doesn't jam much, and is fun to shoot. I like it cause it's not as much kick as a 40 or 45, but more power than a .22

Highly recommend getting this gun.

I prefer the PX4 sub 9mm. My son has the G26 which is also good. It has more to do with my hands than brand so don't get upset. Ergonomics and weapon maintenance is more important than Glock versus XD. M&P actually was made by ex Glock engineers who Glock would not let them change the original design. Nice gun the XD.

I just bought one of thease a few days ago and screw the higher bore axis, i shoot way better with this then i do my glock 23, it is reliable and easy to control, and is my new carry gun. and yes the trigger break is much more crisp.

I have a Glock 19, and actually this Springfield shoots nicer I think. Very easy to shoot with minimal recoil. I'd buy one but my wife wants one. This guys comment about the clean trigger break is totally correct too....very nice gun.

I wouldn't put spray paint on the slide. Most likely, it will flake off sooner than later, and there is always a chance those flakes can get lodged in the striker channel.

If the wear is from holstering the weapon, then that is just something that most people learn to live with. Even high end holsters will cause wear.

i have the 4in. compact. but i bought some 30 round mag that fuckin sucls it dont sit right in the mag well and the mag does not take more than 5 rounds before the sping does not compress right. so the rounds are loose and juggle inside the mag.
