I bought the "tana tani" album by this artist and am hugely dissapointed. The artist catered to western ears instead of keeping to his roots. A Bengali folk singer...living in Paris? What is wrong with the picture? Such a shame this artist sold the culture down the river for his own selfish gain. Think he tried to be Salif Keita except the Dutara and Electronica creates only cachophony!! He indubitably has a etherial voice though..plz..stick to your roots...

Wow! Your studio really gets an amazing recording sound! This is the sound I hear in my head when I read Inayat Khan's essays. ;) What instrument is the vocalist playing here? The note says "dautara" but I don't know this instrument... Is this specific to Rajastani music?

What a compostion! "Banshi " playing is based on "Raga Pahadi" and that's what is the theme . Honestly I didn't like many of his performances, but this one! Excellent!

I listen to this song and Mohamita every day. The beauty of Paban's voice and the love he expresses is so pure, my heart is opened. I appreciate the simplicity and authenticity of the recording.
