I'm happy to find that you left and are finding happiness in your life. I left after being raised a JW for 13 years. I always understood there was something wrong with the cult. I could see it in the people. I could see it in the "results" of believing in that dogma: Isolation, delusion, and petrified fear of the unknown. Although I do not believe in the dogmatic bible..I have not denied Christ either. It is great to see that you have found something that brings you peace after the mind control.

Jesus being alive on the earth, his death and resurrection is key to my faith, and I have good reasons for believing this. Its a far cry from Blind faith. Reason and logic is not the answer to everything, and can only take you so far in finding meaning to the big questions of life. I understand where you are coming from. After my experience being born and raised in the org, 3rd generation in fact, I didn't want religion withing ten city blocks of me.

Everyone is different.

One thing I figured out late in life is that, if there is a God, my relationship with Him is between me and Him. Nobody gets to dictate the terms of that relationship other than me and Him. Everyone else gets to kindly stay out of it :)
