  • I´m going to buy a 750il 1997 but would it have the acc sistem i mean cruise control al the cars have it but would it detct de other cars or this an accesorie and if it is one where can i buy it. Thankyou.

  • @mario022594 Only on cars after 9-99 that have DSC III

  • @Homerraas that means the one i´m going to buy dosn´t have it right. thanks again.

  • Hello which A.R require ACC feature? and could share which accessory will need it?

  • @joonyjjang ???? AR? this is a stock option not sure on your questions

  • I will love to have this in my e39 540i:-)

  • Is it retrofit? Or...because, I haven't seen this on the E38. I like it very much.

  • @ZajoSTi Yes OEM E38 to add this you need a 9-2000 and up with DSC III

  • And Volvo market this as something brand new and innovative.

  • Smart car. What year car is this? I will surely buy it!

  • @Careica 2001

  • @Homerraas How old versions has this distance detection system? Do older than 1995 versions whitch has cruice control still have that same system of cruise control AKA LED light is showing to what speed it will accelerate and maintain its speed?

  • @Careica Nope only 2000 and up you need DSC III

  • @Homerraas So the older ones whitch have cruise control in them, is it same like shown in this video. I mean not the distance detector but the cruise control itself? Is it showing LED light at what speed it will accelerate or you have to go to wanted speed yourself and then activate it?

  • @Careica NO! as mentioned in the video ACC cars ONLY!

  • Wow I didn't know this was available on E38's. Good stuff because the E65 is so ugly on the outside.

  • The "Up" arrow to the right of the DSC and Car Recognition Lights. Does it work with ACC, or is it an efficiency light (to notify the driver when to upshift at the most efficient RPM)

  • it's all for the ACC

  • @Homerraas

    When does it illuminate?

  • It turns on as i the video when you select ACC and select speed

  • @Homerraas

I dont see it illuminated, like when you encounter a car.

Anyhow, what does it mean when it does illuminate?

  • your talking about the arrow?

  • @Homerraas

    Yes.

  • arrow has no function for the ACC and is not used

  • what year is this? did active cruise some standard for this era e38?

  • yes on 2000 and 2001 cars

  • hoor ze nederlands prate xd

  • dat klopt! we zijn Hollanders ;)

  • Yeah sure it's a 730 ;-)

  • i love this car 730

  • My favourite 7 series shape of all time... And cannot believe the technology back then. I am an Audi driver but would love to own this model as a 2nd car. Just pity parking and tax in London so anti-car.

  • Just driving would be just fine for me. I don't owning it would be a good investment

  • tell me when it can drive me to my bed and tuck me in after a party.

  • valla pepino

  • huh?

  • My E38 1999 year also have active cruise control but i dont have that function for control distace of the car in front. Maybe is that becose last year in the crash my front parking senzors not work now ?? Sorry for my bad english :D

  • You need the Radar unit in the front bumper.

And as yours is a 99 it doesn't have it.

    Only 2000 and 2001 cars

  • Ok. Thank you :)

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome, never known about this funciton.... Is it possible to retrofit it to e39 and code it as a retrofit or something.... would like to have it......

  • thats why bmw is 10 years ahead of other cars

  • Did the E38 from 1994 have this feature?

  • No only the E38 facelift from build date 3-99 with DSC II

  • havent got that awsome ACC,, could we get a photo of the front sensor near the fog light.. so I know what to look for in my next car?

  • just look for a sensor in the bumper=ACC

  • Does anyone know if this was a standard feature? I am considering buying my boss's e38 if he gets orders to move...

  • Also, was this feature available in the US? I heard that it may have been limited to European models.

  • Only Euro models, sorry

  • No it was an option

  • on a traffic light...after 30 it automatically disengages... so if won't apply the brakes I'll run into a car at the traffic light? or it will stop it self?

  • No the system turns off at 30km an hour.

Keep in mind this was/is an option that was offered 9!years ago

  • But was it so difficult to make it work under 30kph, or just to work in emergency mode, just to avoid an accident and to stop the car.

  • it was just safety

  • it is good on the long journys . makes motorway work so easy and effortless. i have it on my e39 2001 530 i se. so all you need to do is keep the steering wheel straight, tho is a very rare to find as it is a v expensive option. as most come with cruise controll standard, and most people wont upgrade the option.

  • In ETK it was never an option for the E39?

  • im in the uk. and it is on there. i got my car 2nd hand so i was v lucky ,lol.

  • good god,is that a stock feature?

  • Wow, i didnt know you could get this on E38's. Very nice!

  • the guy has an outrageous Dutch accent

  • When this accessory was available for E38?

  • Sinds the facelift of the E38, That is when DSC came.

  • i am stupid

i had the chance to buy one of these bimmmers... PS=this IS real cruise control..

  • that is hott

  • E, I dunno which one is hotter...

Your 'concentrating' voice or your Dutch ;)

  • Edwin, time for new mod!!!

  • Very cool original BMW E38 option!

  • Is that really an orginal e38 option?

If it is (was) then it would be very cool!

  • Yep, it was! It can be recognised from the outside at the front, near the foglight. With ACC there is a big bulp (eye) on the passengers side. Very rare option.

  • It would be nice to own one of those with this option! Because i haven`t seen in real life an E38 with this option.
