  • I find it almost impossible to coordinate hamstring curls..... I keep having my workout bench fall backwards on top of me :S

  • To be honest if youre any real type of bodybuilder youll just work out everything anyways Because its not always about what you want to work out, but some times it is rather just what ever is best for your body.

  • the problem with 3 of 4 exercises in this video to me seems that you really cannot use a lot of weight if you wanna do them corrently and safely.

    Most flimsy attachments don't seem to be able to handle decent weight (decent weight for the hams imo starts around at least 100lbs and that's really NOT much weight for the hams, advertised max often is below that)

  • I would love to have strong long hamstrings! I wonder, does anyone ever build hamstrings so strong (like stiff legged deadlifts and leg curls) that they overpower the quads? Does it ever cause the reverse of this problem with the knee cap?

  • this scooby guy kinda bugs me BUT he knows his shit.. and props to him cuz hes doin everything at home.. he doesnt try to sell gym memberships or expensive equipment he just uses what he has.. so for those reasons i like him.. and those hamstring deals he was doin with the barbell i do those standin on my weight bench cuz then ya get another 5 to 6 inches of stretch.. vs stoppin with the weight on the ground.. it feels soooooooo good..

    True whey is the best out there. It has the highest protein content I have come across, one 25g serving has 19g of protein. I've also tried others, Maximuscle is equally as good but more expensive.   • i have really skinny legs but i do quad and calf exercises and i run alot. so im hoping these hamstring exercises can help. if not then i have real bad genetics.

    i was at the gym yesterday

    and idk what the excercise is

    its like a squat but your feet are pointed towards the sealing, you push your legs towards the sky

    i did 220 ound and then suddenly

    i had this huge pain in my hamstrings

    both legs

    maybe it was because i did this excercise first time?

    yes its called the leg press

    i dk i go 90 degrees and i think i do it right

    the inner things will start to hurt badly

    but i think it was the musclepain

    cuz its gone away partly

    i just freaked out cause ithis happened right away when i did the excercise

  • too much weight and your toes should be parallel pointing up. If there pointed in itll start to hurt your outer hamstrings and if there pointed out itll hurt your inner hamstrings.

    keep your feet parallel and use enough weight till the point where when youre at your 10th rep you cannot physically do anymore.

  • @kozzumeez: Always when doing something for the first time, use _less_ weight than you can optimally handle, and focus on getting your form optimal first.

    Then gradually work your way up, taking it easy for the first few weeks, making sure you have the proper form first, before adding weights that (if you dont use proper form) might injure you.

    Form always comes first, when you have it nailed, you can put on weight. Dont do excercises you dont know the form for.

    its extremely important.

  • @kozzumeez you were probably doing a leg press and yeah, start off easy and pay attention to form. if not, you may trick yourself into thinking your legs are stronger than they are and when you push yourself beyond a safe zone, then it's pretty obvious what would happen.

    My butt is flat and I want to make it rounder and prominent (not bigger) and my legs bigger and muscular.

  • thanks scooby. You are 100% correct. Working the hamstrings helps prevent knee pain. After working out my hamstrings for a couple weeks my horrible knee pain is completly gone. I can now go back to playing sports!

  • i may be wrong, scoob, but in my readings and experience i have heard it is highly useful to do hamstring raises using a roman chair, or even the underside part of your bed, that way you only have to increase weight by holding in your hands rather than possibly dropping it when held between the feet
