  • you sound like a scouser. Very Lennon. absolutely brilliant. Best cover of a Neil Finn song I've ever heard. Well done.

  • I agree with fenderish. The voice on the verse is dead on. Not so much the chorus but a quality voice nonetheless. Neil Finn - best songwriter in the world IMHO.

  • Well done :)

  • Wow you're awesome!! You sound just like Neil Finn <3 brilliant job!!

  • I was surprised to see a guitar/vocal cover of this song, but you pulled it off quite nicely. Good on you.

  • Very good...I swear that is a kiwi accent...

  • you have a pretty awesome voice, I haven't noticed any diction problems, I wouldn't have known English wasn't your first language

  • Really nice job..one of fave songs off this album...I think the thing that is "off" is simply that you are sort of doubling up on the rhythm as opposed to the slow deliberate piano chords on the original..but the vocal is very nice

  • All i can say is thankyou mate. Bloody lovely.

  • Trevor, regarding your diction, don't change a thing. Your English is excellent and your accent makes you all the more interesting to listen to. Keep playing and singing. You rock, dude.

  • is tht you singing :S:S:S:S:S

yo sound just like neil if so

    !

  • Yep, it's me! Thanks...

  • HI! I really should subscribe to you since I love your other Neil/Crowdie covers. (Your "Hole in the River" is GREAT!) I just clicked the link without first realizing it was you.

Anyhow, something in this sounds slightly off. Maybe I think so because it's only you without the benefit of vocal harmonies and other instrumental padding. Not quite sure.

Also, there's a little bit of lazy diction going on. I don't mean to nitpick, but it makes your beautiful vocal less than it could be.

  • hi, thanks for subscribing! i think the reason why this sounds slightly off is because i play it a half step down and it is written for piano, not guitar.

About my diction: i'm from The Netherlands and my english is far from perfect...

    Thanks for your good comments!

    Larry

  • wow your amazing!!!!!

  • This is great just a question though why do you use a capo a lot? Do you find better control up the neck with it or is it easier to transpose the key?

  • maybe because its the key of the song

  • Quem sabe sabe, e apos tantos anos é bom ver os Crowded House de novo e com uma qualidade incrivel :))))))))))))

  • Well done this is gorgeous - I love Crowded House and I love when someone else covers their song but so many times the song gets ruined!! (Damien Leith, Paul Young) But this is so nice!!

  • Beautifully done. Such a brilliant tune to begin with. Pour le Monde indeed. For the world - not for the war.

  • crowded house is my favourite band by miles and i hear so many covers on here that rip their songs to bits but vids like this are the reason i keep looking - this is brilliant! well done, nice one! just off to watch your other CH songs now...!

  • Try some oasis covers, you have a better voice than pissed pub singer liam gallagher

  • man...i thought it was you Neil...but no..it is you Trevor...enjoyed it as much as original..which is a bit spooky...and you didn't even have soprano backing singers!

  • Thanks a lot for your kind comment!

  • hi, just wanted to listen to 'pour le monde' on youtube and found this. truely amazing!

  • amazing

  • You have a very Neil Finnesque voice anyway-beautiful! reckon he'd see this as a massive compliment x

  • very, very pretty.

  • Thanks!!

  • i have to tell you i have it marked as one of my favorites. it brings tears to my eyes. lovely, lovely rendition. well done, trevor.

  • That's brilliant! Do you think you could post up the chords you used?

  • Larry, never thought I would love a cover verion better than the original - especially where crowded house are concerned - this is superb. The vocals, guitar, feeling, sound quality, indeed everything about your presentaion is first class. Please let us know when/where we can come to see you live. All the best for you in 2008.

  • Absolutely fantastic. Spot on in every way.

Where did you get the chords as I'd love to play this myself.

Many thanks and well done again

  • Thanks a lot! Figured it out by watching CH on KCRW.

  • This is amazing Trev stuff ,you should be on stage, you have a amazing voice and brillant guitar work:)

  • Thank you so much!

  • Nice performance! But I've got to say that I don't like the rhythm. We're all free to put our own interpretation on songs, but with this one I think that you need to be hitting straight 8s like in the recorded version. Great apart from that :)

  • fantastic version, prefer this to the original ?! great lyrics

  • You could maybe do some Del Amitri songs (Justin Currie). I'd guess you'd know songs such as 'Be My Downfall' , 'Tell Her This' 'Driving with the breaks on' 'Nothing Ever Happens' etc. Your voice is spot on and i think u'd do another great job

  • i have never heard such a great cover of a song. the guitar great and especially your voice is great.

  • good stuff !

    cheers !

  • As a huge Neil fan, I can't say yours is better, but it's still fantastic. it's hard to get a fan to give a little, so take it as high praise. :) the very fact you chose a CH/Neil song gives you major brownie points! I used to sing CH songs in my band in college...they ARE fun to sing!

  • Man, i cannot stop watching this! Your guitar playing and singing are absolutely exquisite! Thanks for posting this, and I can honestly say that your version is better than the original.

  • very good

  • ur better than the originarl crowded house

  • Your singing and playing are awesome. Do you have a face?

  • Thx man. You sound great. I've been to two concerts of CH in Amsterdam and Brussels but your version of Pour le Monde sounds great. I like it a lot. May be Neil should do this on stage like you do it. (That's a compliment to you!!).

  • Nice idea Trev. Isolate Neil's vocals and play your guitar to it. Beautiful!

  • That version was better than CH's !! Put alot of feeling in it, excellent work. Great voice. :o)

  • nice work... you sound a LOT like Neil Finn!

  • yes, he sounds JUST like him.

  • Beautiful, simply lovely, thanks very much. Neil Finn is perhaps one of the most underrated artists of our time. His lyrics and music have touched my heart in so many ways. Can't wait to see them tonight in Portland!!

  • is it just me, or does this guy sound like Liam Finn??

  • This is a lovely version of a great song, nice work :) when you started singing you sounded a lot like Neil.

  • Hi Trevor aka "the Headless Houseman"...awesome tribute, another one that is. Pour le Monde happens to be my favorite ballad piece on the new album and you've really done it justice with your own twist. Cheers, Chris

  • Thanks Chris!! Cheers...

  • This is one of my favorite songs off of "Time On Earth". As when I heard your version of "Silent House", I got goosebumps.

Neil Finn is an incredible singer/songwriter. Like Jonatha Brooke, Neil (as well as many others) are so underrated in the country. It seems like true talent always gets pushed away. Shame.

  • Wow! This isn't even a well-known song yet...I am a fan of this mysterious, faceless performer!

  • That was really nice, thanks! Neil would be proud.

  • Nice work Trevor! Tell me, is that a standard tuning? Capo on 3?

  • Yes, standard tuning and capo on 3. I saw Elroy Finn play it this way at KCRW. Thanks!

  • Very nicely done! Simply beautiful! Thanks for posting the vid!!
