I wonder why the management didn't choose to reuse the old registration 9M-MAS for the A380 - basically the flagship of their fleet? They last used it on a DC-10 back in the 80s. Heck the plane no longer exists even, written off in 2000.

Could be because more than one is appointed. Are a total of six pieces, which are then numbered from A to F, and perhaps more options.

I can not tell you. It is a decision of Airbus, they know what they're doing. ;-)

the assembling takes place in Toulouse

interior outfitting and paint will be held in Hamburg

@baloo0206 its because . if the plane fail to fly . it would be a such a waste of money if we paint them while testing their first flight . =)

if the plane is ok . then they paint the new A380 for Mas

to save their money . =)

maybe that is why they would not paint them in the first place hehe. =)

@baloo0206 You must take into consideration that to have such facility required a huge piece of land and with the current expansion done just for the production line for the A380, there not much room left. It is also the great way for Airbus to test the plane right after assembly and to identified a failure in the component during this time is crucial and save a lot of man hours since the interior is still incomplete.

Danke, ja in vollem Lack, bin auch schon gespannt,das dauert leider noch. Geplante Auslieferung ist erst Juni 2012. Aber bis dahin ist es hoffentlich wieder warm. ;-)
