Of all the Rock I played for mom back in the sixties she loved Janis best. I can almost see her now leaning over the dishes singing along on "Turtle Blues"
@doublejjranch You've got a few brothers and sista's out there, myself being one of them. I lived in San Francisco all my life and Janis was diring my teen years so I was very privileged to see her so many time and cross paths twice. Very nice!!!
I grew up with Billy Holladay, LedBelly and Janis. words can never exsplain how I feel when I hear her voice. And only a hand full of people can sing the blues and reach down and squeeze you heart. a lot of singers today are like decorated easter eggs that are empty, when thay sing. Janis feels, and bares her soul, when she sings you can feel it. by the way Im deslexic so my spellings gona suck.
When I was a kid I had a different Janis version of this song. A different old recording of hers. I didnt know there was another one. Ive never heard this one before. Wow.....She always amazes me. Even if Id heard this a thousand times. Thank you for sharing this with us. ♥

Great stuff. When and where was this recorded? I'm guessing at some Texas honkytonk circa 1963-4:) --

Sad that so much talent gets washed up on the shore of destruction. Like other great artists of the 60s, Janis would have given us so much more.
