  • man, do I wish they can tow as good as they look and sound, but unfortunetly, this commercial is false advertisement. I use to want one when I was little, but I don't really need it. Sorry, they are pretty and sound good but they got the worst towing power compared to the rest. But I do miss these commercials.

  • the transmission on the 1994-2001 (Ram 1500) 1994-2002 (Ram 2500 and 3500)

    Dodge Ram

    Transmission

    4-speed automatic

    5-speed manual

    6-speed manual

  • At idle? That is absolutely not true. I am a mechanical engineer. THIS COMMERCIAL IS A LIE. I don't even think that at 2500 rpm it could do that. 15000 pounds? LIE

  • @titanicnerdclay I'm with you on this one. A friend a mine had a Ram 1500 of this year and the tranny went out from towing a horse trailer. He drives a Chevy Silverado with Turbo Diesel now. I always wanted a dodge myself until gas prices went up and later found out that they actually have the worst towing power compared to all the others

  • I had a 1989 dodge ram. I was hauling logs to the saw mill and it was hot as hell that day. When I was on the interstate the damn air condition went out. There was a cloud of smoke came up from the engine. It had 32,000 miles on it. That truck was well token care of. It had a v8 4x4. I still have the truck. In 2008 I save every penny I had and bought a 2008 ford f450 king ranch v8 power stroke turbo diesel. Doing the same job and not having and problems with it.

  • This is horse shit it's fake how stupid do they think people are

  • i'm 15 and I got one of these, it's just sittin waiting for me to get my license

  • hey looks, the all new ram train from dodge....

  • My dad has a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 super cab it has the same body style of the '97 Ram. His truck weighed 7'000 lbs. Until he turned into a dually now it weighs 7'560 lbs. Hey pulled a Mack semi truck out of a ditch in that thing! Dodges are tuff shit.

  • "Why buy a 3.5 ecoboost with 22 MPG when you could get a hemi 5.7 that gets 20?"......hands down best, albeit stupidest comment I've read here. Why settle for a whole Snickers when you can get 90% of it? Typical Dodge fanboy. Newsflash fool the ecoboost also makes 365hp and 420lb ft. Still want that hemi?

  • @yellowmusicfreak Ram the BEST!

  • bullshit

  • bs o wait is that motor clicking

  • '

    really or fake

  • jajaja my 97 flies at idle speeds :)

  • i like this dodge:)

  • TWISTER'S MAIN STAR!

  • @Blast3200 you mean the movie, right?

  • @weaponexpert1 yeah

  • @Blast3200 i agree. the dodge and jami gertz looked very good haha

  • @weaponexpert1 man i felt sorry for her at the end of the movie :(

  • this is fake

  • i got a dodge ram today n i dont like the fact that it wants to takeoff like that when u put it in drive. must be bad for the breaks. i dunno but i will find out

  • Holy crap! Dodge has done it again!

  • I wish newer vehicles were like this now. Although even back then they started all going down hill. I love Dodge don't get me wrong, however if you buy any car or truck made after the 1970s you can expect to fork out a lot more repairing it then anything prior.

  • Gotta love them 12valves !!!

  • its a 318 smart one

  • @moviking ya me too, they should have shown what they could pull in this video though lol.

  • thats impossible. the other dodges on the ground had to have at least had there engines on at idle

  • I have a 1997 Ram 1500 sport 5.9l. I had no idea that my truck could do this. I love dodges. I've owned 2. The 97 and I bought a 99 1500 but I totalled it. I saved my life so now I will only own Rams. And maybe a Chevy to play in.

  • GOD DAMN

  • @hickster699 Excellent comment because if someone is looking for a good review they end up reading comments from people who are angry b/c they punched their engines way too much and did not maintain them properly and then want to bash the company...uh no that was your fault. lol

  • @hickster699 Just saying. I've owned every brand of truck, full size and small(no dakotas tho?) Anyways, best two trucks we're the ones with the most miles and were both Chevys. Paid 400 for a 2000 s10 put 600 into it and it was perfect. Paid 800 for a 91 K1500 and sold it for 2000 eventually. Both had about 198k when I bought them. All three of rams started falling apart before 150k. The Bronco was slow, and the Ranger...a joke at best. I now own a Ram still. They break, but I love em.

  • @magazinedude2002 the old rams last a lot longer i got a 87 with over 300,000 and still runs top no loss of power.

  • @JoeysFunFarm yeah. But that's a carburated engine and with way less comforts than vehicles come with now a days. I'd take an 87 if it had auto windows, a cummins, and a 5 spd.

  • @MoparDodge93 once again opinionated comments listen this is the 21st centry not the 20th nor the 1970's so keep the fix or repair daily comment out of here. and yeah toyota had recalls on their cars but what about dodge ever hear about the dodge recall on their transmissions. Atleast toyota lasts more than 100,000 miles without problems. yeah good one .Dead On Delivery, Go Easy.

  • @MoparDodge93 so you are basically telling me that your opinion is that you like dodge alright good for you. i told you to go to your mechanic to get a factual data base. so let me ask you this. if ford is so bad how come they are the number 1 selling brand world wide ABOVE toyota and have reliability ratings comparable or better than toyota and honda. all dodge is is plastic and rubber, hence the name mopar: made of plastic and rubber. oh yeah and i'd rather be stroking than cumming

  • @xBloodfatherx I dont know about that....cumming is always fun!

  • @wsaer56 well yeah but you know stroking always comes first

  • @xBloodfatherx yeah you got a point there man, lol

  • @MoparDodge93 oh yeah..the "eco-boost". They are charging more for it than the 5.0 litre, which puts out the same amount of power and the 5.0l is a much better engine all around. just a ripoff gimmick Ford is doing.

  • what happened to them caring about their cars. oh yeah. Chrysler

  • @MoparDodge93 oh wait wait wait. go to your mechanic and ask how many fords dodges and chevys they get and then talk shit on ford and chevy. dodge sucks they break down all the time

  • i got an ss/t

  • pieces of shit. the pumpkin and shocks on a dodge 1 ton is so fucking small and there transmissions suck ass as well. the only reason people buy them is because they are cheaply made so they don't cost as much. i don't know if you have ever seen the new commercial for the ram that say bring it bring it back if it doesn't do everything you want the thing to do. don't see that any more.

  • @woomanfart

Im sure a diesel could do that. I know my 5.9 can, i've pulled a 2 horse trailer before with it with 2 horses and a saddle in it, 5.9 has 345lbs of torque, and 300 at the wheels. I never tested this idling tho lol.. The 46re transmission and my Jeep were maxed out at 6500lbs doing this.

  • thats why American cars and trucks are the best in the world!

  • I dont see hwo you guys dont believe this video. Its easy to move something like this one with wheels. The trucks are rolling. I bet you a person could pull this once he gets it rolling.

  • @1ownjoo2

okay, put a fucking truck on you're back, tow all of those trucks, put trucks on THOSE trucks, TAPE IT, and send me the video. I'll have the pleasure of awarding you a fucking trophy.

  • @boon222222

Aparantly you fucking havent seen people pull SEMI TRUCKS before.. have you ?? 1 MAN pulls a fucking semi with a trailer...

Your an idiot.. fucking youtube kid

  • @1ownjoo2

well, the average person can't, and you are forgetting that they don't put trucks on their back. Jesus Christ, learn how to argue.

  • @boon222222

I never once said someone could put a truck on thier back. I said that someone could pull that easily.... I dont need to elarn to argue because i already have you beat. Learn some basic Physics because thats all this comes down to.. All you need to do is get the wheels to move.

  • @boon222222

Do me a favour, go park whatever vehicle you own on a flat surface and start pushing it. I bet you it will move with ease... You wont even have to try, hell you could lean on it and it will move.. Imagine if you were pulling, its easily possible to pull that much weight

  • @1ownjoo2

    do you not understand???

put more than 5,000 pounds on your back, and then do that. Jesus fucking christ, for the third time put weight on your back, THEN do it. do you understand?

  • @boon222222

I never said carry again, i said pull. god are you fucking stupid ?? God damn brain dead inbred

  • I've heard alot about Dodge transmissions and front suspensions. My first dodge was a Intrepid, and everyone said that the trannies were bad. Well, they do go bad when you put the wrong fluid in them! I put 280k miles on it with no issues and sold it well sold too. 2nd was a Dakota Magnum V6 no issues. Now I have a 2001 Durango with 200k and no issues and a 2003 Ram 15004x4 & 95 Ram 2500 4x4 with no issues either. It's all about maintaining them I guess.

  • Yep when they were new they could do that but later on the transmisson starts slipping and the ball joints fly out lol. Don't get mad at my comment I own one therefore I know lol.

  • DODGE SUCKS

  • @KillerToyota , coming from the guy whos name is KillerToyota. yea.... as in if you drive a TOYota you will die from the the throttle sticking and the brakes not working because of a software issue lol. oh yea thats right.... the best "truck" they make is a tundra that is a half ton, automatic, gas, IFS, and of course a piece of shit TOYota. when they make a real truck let me know and until that day you shouldnt be commenting on videos of real trucks. your brainwashed from the "cool" commercials

  • @dodgekid83 , Reason my name is KillerToyota: I drew myself as a car, (and at that time it was a evil toyota Supra), Now its a 05 Mustang GT. lol Anyways, I'm female, not a male >~>. Ford is the best stuff ever. EVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE- wait, Volkswagon beats ford by a foot xD. I know, cause there's a Jetta, Mustang, Grandmarquis, and a Pointiac G5 in my family (G5 is my sister's >> ) and I get to mess with them cars.

I've ridden in a dodge and it wasn't as enjoyable as a ford. lmao

  • I want a 12 valve!!!

  • @1DieselFuelOnly1 got one for sale 1997 dodge 2500 4 wheel drive 5 speed 4500$ im in alabama come get it

  • the LA short blocks with the magnum heads were plenty capable of some serious low end torque,

with proper gearing, maint. and tire size these trannys will last well over 200,000 miles. (thats from personal experience.) actually sold it at 215,000 because the pinion bearing was going out. the kid that bought it slapped 35" tires with 3.55 gears and dogged the piss out of it, the trans had no issues when we sold it, but within 10,000 miles the kid burned the transmission up...

  • mine is 97 but idk if i get it goin with a five speed u would burn the clutch bad tryin to go 3 mph lol

  • It'll pull 15 tons alright! Pull all the other Dodge rams with the infamous blown transmissions that these things are known for.

  • @shellshock940T hey go fuck yourself. i've owned more than 10 rams and never had a problem....god must hate you

  • @skynyrdjeepamn Easy there killer. Judging by your username, and your aforementioned amount of Dodge Rams you've owned, your probably a "simple" folk. It does beg to ask though, if the trucks are so good, why have you owned more than ten of them? The other nine crap out on you?

I'm not saying the trucks are necessarily bad, but it's a known fact that they have less than ideal transmissions. My friend owns a transmission service shop, and most of his business is these era Dodge trucks.

  • What about my 1995 V10 Ram!? Where is the love!

  • i want to do this with my 96

  • haha!! take that gm!!

  • Back when this was a good truck....

  • @One3teen Still is a good truck! The HEMI and 4.7 mag have proved to be just as reliable as the old push-rod 318's and 360's, and the Cummins, well we all know its reliability. Although the new half tons are now unfortunately leaning towards a more comfortable ride then capability, it seems to be the trend these days, its what happens when the half ton truck becomes the new minivan. They just followed the market, and in a business that makes sense.

  • Jeez, how hard do you have to stand on the brake at stoplights to keep from creeping forward?

  • @12bucklemyshoe1

    The clutch disengages the transmission.

  • @Charles2337 was a standard tranny available with the V8 back then? No way a 6 is going to do that.

  • @12bucklemyshoe1

Auto trannys still have a clutch system, and I have the Van version of this truck (Ram Wagon), you are able to select first and second gear independently .

  • ha i've got a 97 dodge ram and pulling at idle? maybe the transmission engages at 5000 rpms lmao!

  • that shit was downhill

  • That's a bunch of bullshit right there.

  • @Thinker669 no its not

  • @Thinker669 you obviously dont know anything about trucks do you?

  • @SmithDetroit1

Yes do I kniow about trucks.

I know for a fact that older trucks are tougher than these new trucks that look really weird and really week.

  • Really it's not that hard todo

  • Damn!

  • fuck yea! dodge should'nt be going bankrupt right now if they can do this!

  • @xxTornadowarrior1xx but they didnt do this, the truck was idling, yeah, but there was definately an under floor electric or hydrolic pull pulling the truck.
