I think part of the reason that actors look weird on TV when they are performing from their shows is because they are told to pull back their performance for the camera and its VERY VERY hard to do when you've been doing a role every day for several months or years ON STAGE for hundreds sometimes thousands of people in a theater. So the performance may end up coming off stiff or unnatural. It's harder than you'd think to look natural doing something you're not used to doing!

After seeing that performance, I can't blame Nancy Grace for blanking. I thought Kate was waaaay overdoing it.

She's got the look and the voice, but the performance was a bit too campy. That works on stage, I think, but on TV...not so much haha.

Her scream was awesome. I just LOVE her energy in the show. Vocally it wasn't perfect, but if I was told "Hey, you're going on Jeapordy to do a bit of Popular, and you can't move around at all." I'd be nervous out the wazzoo.

She's good, but it seems that whenever Wicked is televised the actors get too nervous or something and don't do their best. I like Kate Reinders, both her look and singing, but this wasn't her best.

Excellent point! I've worked with archival TV footage for many years. So often, there's something artificial and tense about the performances. We're fortunate in present times that there exist live videos of performances shot from the audience (as illegal as that is!!!), because this way we're really getting an accurate document of the performer "in action." (Though even without TV cameras, performers can be hyper: i'll never forget kristin's final Wicked perf!!)

I love how Kate giggles when the contestant says "All I can think of is Glinda the Good Witch." She's such an adorable spazz. Although I think she kinda gave away the answer to the contestant 'cause right after she said the correct answer haha.

Whoa, sugar rush. But all the Galinda's are on a sugar rush. Haha. Now I'm going to end up watching Jeopardy all the time, waiting for a re-run. I love her scream after "Little ways to flirt and flounce." That made me laugh. =) And I can't believe how long it took that woman to get the question....AND she had "Over the rainbow" to help her. I don't think there are any other "over the rainbow" books....

I just heard about this today and was hoping to find it. The person who told me about it didn't know who she was and she said that she thought it was the "origioanl one" (Kristin). I was a little sad to find it wasn't her, but still. That was cute to watch. I've never seen her perform as Galinda before. Her ..."flirt and flounce. Oh!" was... well... different from what I'm used to though. I like how she kept up the act the entire time. Thanx.
