I'm not sure if this works or not, but one thing that you could try to make the run faster with is by using the jump to cancel the back dash before you get the black panther soul.

what happens is that when you cancel it with the jump, you're still moving in the air for a bit at a higher speed than your walking speed. If you time it right so that you can do it as soon as you land repeatedly, I think you could cut off quite a bit of time.

The Axe soul is better for this part than Erinys. Less magic consumption, more hits. And a level 9 does more damage.

And how many Axe Armors are required to get lvl9? If it's 3, it might be worth considering.

The easiest way is to have Final Sword and Devil soul and then it'll take like... 5-10 min max (have a lotta potions and mind upp's with you!)

you didn't get the doppelganger soul? that would have made all the armor switching you did a heck of a lot easier.

It's unnecessary. All the Doppleganger soul does is save a couple trips to the pause screen. It's purely a convenience. I lose no time by not using it, as the pause screen doesn't count towards the game's clock. In fact, getting the soul would actually waste a second or two.

I say hell fire and erinys. My favorite combo of souls is Hell Fire, Black Panther and Golem. My favorite weapon combo is Claimh Solais/ Death Scythe, Dracula's Tunic and Chaos Ring.

The only real 'speedrunning'-type thing I've done is low percentage, some 14% and level 2.

Congratulations Satoryu, you're a real master in this game. Now, what's your opinion, is it more enjoyable beating your time record or taking your time collecting items, experience and souls? By the way, it sure took eons killing Menace at level 19, I had to skip most of it, lol!

Really, just playing the game is enjoyable. I speedrun to show my skill, and collecting everything is done for the sake of having a completed file.

What you really need to try is this:

Naked Soma:

no armor, no weapons, no accessories (except mina's talisman but only for that part) and NO SOULS with the exception of all the boss souls and ability souls, and medusa head.

The reason medusa head is allowed is because you can drop kick, activate it, then hover for a while, then release medusa for lots of damage. I went all the way to menace, it's impossible i swear when it takes 20 hits just to kill a mouth thingy :)
