yes really. check it up and you'll see its true.

windows media player is better by it having better codec support. (that's obviously good!) also, quicktime x has actually lost its ability to "go Pro". the biometrics framework is good because you can easily log in w/ protection. its for laptops. it's also good for college people because they can have it just as a safety precaution against their roommate. yes all windows 2000 programs will work on it!

i DID 'check it up'. I actually found that quicktime supports more things than windows movie maker. yes, the x version has some of the capabilities of 'pro' for free, now. so, this biometrics is useful for what, 50% of computer users? what? much less? why do you dislike osx?

windows 7 has a better media player now that supports a greater amount of codecs. it has the biometrics framework, which helps secure your computer from strangers even more precisely. it also has an even better windows media center (aka tv on computer!). it also has full backward compatability available. it also has more and better customzation features as part of its control panel.

btw it also has a harder chess game!

the main reason why I got a mac was cauz it was pretty much guaranteed that 7.5 hours under their conditions meant 7.5 hours. (laptop-macbook pro 13')

If vista works fine with you then stick with it, it really is all about preference. My vista on my desktop worked fine, however I really like the aero snap features added to Windows 7 and speed improvements. My vista laptop however was a pain and installing Windows 7 made it world's faster.

Go build a laptop. once you find a way to do it better than the manufacturers, i'll be right behind you. I'm typing this on a Dell XPS 720 and I have to say, I have never owned a higher quality built PC. The Inspirons are crappy from dell but the XPS and Studio XPS lines are absolutely brilliant.

my friend compared his macbook pro and his new HP probook with W7 and they connect around the same time but the mac was just ahead by a nano second

It could be due to the fact they both may have Wireless N cards, MBP having Airport and HP either having an Intel or it's own Wireless card. Win7 does connect extremely fast and so does Mac OS X, but it all really depends on the hardware and a bit on the software
