We have no choices. We vote for A or B. They are owned by the same people. Go watch some NFL. Go watch some UFC. Stay entertained so you can't see us fucking you in the ass. WE OWN YOU. There is no choice. But if you want a bagel you can have 46 flavors and 12 flavors of cream cheese.
The governments are meant to represent us, but due to the fact that they need to protect jobs they are in a catch 22 and are unable to do this effectively.
We can't count on them.
Corporations (read: the execs), true to their nature, will only look at the bottom line because that is all they are concerned about.
A company owned and operated by the workers on the rig itself wouldn't have been pushed as hard for profits at the expense of safety.
Where is the US Navy? Protecting some Bankers war abroad. I haven't seen one single military ship in the area! Patriot Act and Homeland Security SUCK!
My question is, why choose to use a TOXIC dispersant ie. Corexit that disperses and sinks, creating deposits on the sea bed? Surely this product not only constitutes as a sinking agent but also as a HIGHLY TOXIC SINKING AGENT? Black D is NON TOXIC and 100% FLOATS when in contact with oil. Please can someone from the EPA clarify? Check out Black D Oil Spill Response

Nero played the fiddle when he burnt ROme.......Cheney is playing a fiddle now and this rig is burning. Cheney's back door deal to not require a special pump to save 500,000 dollars.

Republicans (GOP=Grand Oil Party) Dick(wad) Ch-Cheney did everything he could behind closed doors to open up deregulated off shore drilling. Shills deny he still owner interest in Halliburton. That is a lie. Tony Hayward, CEO of BP should go partridge hunting with Dick(wad) Ch-Cheney. My onlu hope would be for the "Dick's" heart to finally give out after he loads Hayward's face with birdshot~
I can stop this, all three leaks in 3 days IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT IM POSTING THIS HERE TO PROVE THAT THIS LEAK WAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO FLOW FOR GOVERMNENT PROFITS. now that said lets see when OBAMA calls me HE CALLED ME 50 50 TIMES TO GET ELECTED.................OBAMA I WILL FIX THIS IN THREE DAYS CALL ME NOW I BET YOU WONT.
Trillions upon trillions of dollars that could make the lives of all hard-working Americans much easier have been strategically funneled into the coffers of the Economic Elite. The denial of wealth is the key to the Economic Elite’s power. An entire generation of massive wealth creation has been strategically withheld from 99% of the US population.
those bastards sitting on their comfy chairs , hiding in their mansions should be dropped right in the middle of the oil spill, they should taste whats making them rich, fuckin greedy bastards...its always the workers that end up paying with their lives
Impeach the president as well get rid of Bp what going to happen is tax paers going to pay in the end because Bp get to write all these losses off on their taxes and get money back from the government
RUIN YOUR WELL- NOT FLORIDA, MEXICO, AND THE CARIBBEAN ! RISE UP FLORIDIANS ! WE ARE NOT COLLATERAL DAMAGE ! B.P. CAP THAT WELL NOW !!! STOP THE SPILL CAP THE WELL ! RUIN YOUR WELL NOT THE F - L !
This is what a woman posted on BP's facebook page....>Margie Backstrom...In a week the news coverage on this will be almost over. No one will care about about your signs, silly boycotts.dead animals and lies.Buisness as usual. We(BP) make money! Game over!
Area { X } pressure { =} VOLUME / FLOW RATE /FORCE every day of the week & if they gave us the pressure we could figure this out in seconds
TONY HAYWART U LOW LIFE PROVE ME WRONG!
The so-called experts & the 44th POTUS refused to give us the accurate numbers and I have actual video of the EARS of the 44th POTUS growing exponentially!
PLUS I AM THE ONLY PERSON ON EARTH TO
PROVE THE BOOK OF REVELATION IS IN FACT PROVEABLE USING {{THE ONE DOLLAR BILL }}
And let’s not forget the ridiculous amount of money it takes to run for office and the corporate funds accepted by many of these incumbents and non-incumbents to make it to office. Many are already in the pockets of the corporations before they even get elected. Don’t be a dumb-ass and get hung up on the whole “I belong to this party” crap. It’s all bullshit!
When are your idiots going to wake up and realize that there is no real Republican or Democrat party, they are one in the same. They keep the masses divided with propaganda BS that plays to the people’s emotions which then helps them get elected into the office they seek. Once there, they do the bidding of the lobbyists who are funded by the multinational corporations.
I knew how 2 stop the leak immediatly after explosion, The Secret Service threatened with jail if I continued 2 call the W.H. about it, I told them many bad things R going 2 happen soon, they ignored me, so world gets what it deserves! & media's in on conspiracy to let leak drama continue, & BP took some my ideas & I haven't been given credit 4 it! there's lots of real evidence & more 2 my whole story & I've recorded all calls 2 everyone 2 prove the money changers want the leak 2 continue.
Remember when when obma read his written speech of his teleprompter he said"Don't point fingers,Get a mop and help clean up" everyone laughed,ok obama get to the gulf of mexico and get a mop and stop the blame game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fact, BP was responsible for a major oil spill from the alaskan pipe line. They didn't follow expensive guidelines to inspect and maintain it's structural integrity.
Fact, back in the late 80's, BP was busted diverting tankers to Canada in order to create an oil shortage in the USA to increase their profit margin.
i don't care how many ppl "may" have died. i'm devastated at the environmental & wildlife disaster that didn't deserve to suffer. elitists don't want us to have free technology like hydrogen which is ABSOLUTELY safe, but get away w/lies about it to shuv oil up our asses & down our throats. hydrogen is completely safe but 'they' classified as "unsafe". i know hydrogen doesn't burn; you can touch the flame. the h-bomb wasn't hydrogen. it was other explosive substances. hydrogen pops not explodes.
many animals are dying all for the greed of his country are countless species to extinction and still sit down to discuss what can be done and that the oil did not go south instead of going north that is not in Mexico that you would have been better instead of being so greedy and selfish seeking their own interests to do something to stop this criminal calendar and to punish perpetrators

BP doesn't seem in a hurry to clean up - probably file - why not let other companies come in and drill for oil in that 50 mile radius and run it dry - and take away the $ from BP - competition might get them stirred to clean it up - rather have the oil in cars than in an ocean! This is a true disaster - everyone knows BP has no real answer as to if this will fix and the long term consequences. Even if they box it - the oil is going to be on top of the ocean bed floor - there would be seepage!
Stop sounding like a whiner without getting yr facts straight, its easy to seel something like this when emotions are high, let me lay it out for you :
1. Oil / Gas operations ARE inherently hazardous.
2. BP, Exxon, Chevron etc have the HIGHEST safety standards. [ i know this first hand, unlike whiners, ive actually been thru oil major inspections, trust me, they leave nothing untruned.]

Forget if its the republican or democrats fault. It's the u.s. government, they should have regulated the use of an emergency shut off valve, like every other country has by law, until we use alternative sources we need oil, It should just be done more safely and have a much stricter eye on what's going on.
It sure paid off to deregulate. Thank a republican today. Be sure to thank them for millions of beings that have been killed, fisherman out of work and people out of food, tourist economy dead for decades to come, and people now puking their guts out from Florida to Mexico from carcinogens that will kill them inside 5 years. Thank Haliburton while you're at it, for failing to install a simple "shut off" switch at the oil rig. Go on out there and thank an incompetent imbecile today.
This guy feels comfortable talking about shit he knows nothing about. He is taking these executives words out of context. Ive been in the oil business for 20+ years, I can personally tell you that the offshore participants without exception go above and beyond any regulations set forth by any government. All OSHA,EPA, and any other regulatory bodies rules are followed to the letter with no expense spared. Ive seen guys get fired for not wearing safety glasses in an area were they weren't needed
Save the Animals: They better notify the USDA National Animal Health Emergency Response Corps to get those veterinarians and techs down there to de-oil & treat these animals. The amount of widlife that is going to get oiled will overwhelm the cleaning teams they have down there. NAHERC needs to be called in as part of this federal response and they better do it soon.
We are now losing our coastlines. We've lost our privacy. We've lost our mortgages. We've lost our banks. We've lost our homes. We've lost our money. We've lost our freedom. We've lost our rights. We've lost our medicine. We've lost our government. We've lost our Senate.
And the Democrats let the Republicans do it while the Republicans let the Democrats do it. You happy?
No...because they were too busy trying to pass a global tax for humans breathing in Copenhagen than they are for the garbage they pass off on the tax payers.....unreal. Look at what this costs us? When hydro power is free.
why don't they just blow up the hole its coming out of
cave it in just guessing here i know its a mile down and lots of pressure just alarming how powerless the country is to stop things like this
maybe its time to forget oil and move on to wind solar and wave energy's cheaper and clearer so whats the deal profit margins of course but fuck them its time already the earth can't take much more punishment
The United States NAVY has 4 deep water salvage subs and hundreds of engineers that could have been on location a week ago and capped that spewing pipe.
But our clown in chief just sits on his black ass at the white house dinner party and laughes it up with jay leno.
This is the worst ecological disaster in U.S. history and the inaction of Barrack Hussain Obama will lead to his impeachment.
After all , Why should he give a shit, Even his wife has stated that kenya is his true homeland.
@conservanazi The DOD and DOI and coast guard were there from day ONE, Obama directed not to spare anything to prevent damage to the coast and eco system !
The well head is 1 mile down with that much pipe twisted around like a pretzel and a platform as a obstruction an work has to be done with remote opp vehicles, you don't just pull a sub up and have men get out and fix it seeing how they (BP) suspect 3 breaks !
So have your wife/cousin read to ya more U Nazi birth-er inbred raciest !
and i recently started being a client of a local company.. they sell financial products let's put it this way. they are rated poorly by the government with a high risk of fraud because they beat down repeated attempts by IRS who were just trying to harass them for extra tax money.. and when they fought the government in court, they got poor business ratings. and during the recent financial storm with lots of fraud going on, they turned out to be one of the only honest companies. government?
@spyletu they were selling physical gold and silver.. if you haven't kept up to latest news, the market is currently trading gold and silver leveraged up as much as possibly on a ratio 1000:1 and there is a lot of fraud going on. this company turned out to be genuine despite repeated harassment by the government. government regulators are EVERYWHERE and most of time they're just harassing for money.. of course they will be there when accidents happen as well.. broken clock is right twice a day
complying with the rest 99% of the false rules and regulations that don't work will perhaps cause harm and slow down growth to the damage 100 folds of that done by the oil spill? EVER considered that possibility? did you even read specific detail or every conversation between government worker and the oil rig company to make sure they didn't have corrupted ties in the first place or that regulators were harassing them for money more than anything else thus not taken seriously? vent on.
and say government is right 1% of the time and you make every freaking single body comply with it, how much extra human resource and equipment is that going to take (let's even avoid using the term money cus that's gonna tick retards off)? how will the general living standard fare with the same products taking more and more resources to produce? government rules are everywhere when some accidents happen OF COURSE you can point to them and say "LOOK, someone warned you".. idiots.. god.
besides all the investors that invested have lost their money.. next time they will look for oil rigs with better safety precautions before they invest. if government regulations had zero false-positives or if their false-positive ratio were even at a decent reasonable level--let's say if they're decent enough to qualify as "rarely working", do you think they would have such mockery in the society? if i'm not mistaken there has been like TWO oil leaks in recent decades.. ignorance.
protecting property is a function in the original concept of LIMITED government cenk.. "free market" is a market that operates under limited government not NO government.. fraud law and property protection still apply and that has nothing to do with abusive rules written by other politicians that caused the housing bubble.. if it is as you say rules (also cheap gov. money) should run wild instead why don't you make a case comparing the crash of 08 to the oil spill and see which is worse
@spyletu goldman sach's operation could also be handled with fraud law btw if our politicians weren't so corrupted and that would still be under the purview of the free market (limited government).
Exxon Valdez spill measured 250 000 barrels. How bad will this get?
Check "Leaked report: Government fears Deepwater Horizon well could become unchecked gusher":
'"Typically, a very good well in the Gulf can produce 30,000 barrels a day, but that's under control. I have no idea what an uncontrolled release could be," said Stephen Sears, chairman of the petroleum engineering department at Louisiana State University. '
BP, spare no funds to get this under control fast.

It doesn't matter what the TEA KLUX KLAN or moronic republicans have to say about this issue. It doesn't change the fact that off-shore drilling has RUINED the livelihoods of people living in the most conservative states. I want to see these conservatives attack liberals for this then try to sell their UNLEADED FISH.... LMAO. There is a God.
@rfrantzt The tea party has mostly good people, theyve been hijacked by the neocons and misrepresented. The hard core lbertarians and ron paul types are leaving the movement. Obamas policies about the bailouts and the wars and the spying are no different than Bush. The smart liberals should see this and join us independents instead of letting the elites divide and conquer tactics work.
@TheNick487 FALSE, the tea party is supposedly all fired up (for nebulous reasons) but they don't speak out against the bigoted signs and fringe elements. The tea party WELCOMES the bigots, which means most of them AGREE with the bigotry. I like the successes that Barack has made in terms of pushing for transparency. The presidency is NOT an all-powerful position, so he will have to chip away slowly. Nonetheless the last presidential election was staged.
@rfrantzt The tea party was hijacked and is misrepresented, The only people who actually believe we should end wars, have a transparent sound monetary system, actually repeal all of Bush's policies are the Ron paul Repubs. Obama hasnt rolled back any of Bush's policies in fact continued them, and just a few months ago didn't he renig on his drilling moratorium? Dems control the whole govt. now. so why?
@TheNick487 If it was hijacked then DON'T DEFEND IT... It obviously doesn't represent your values does it? Nobody in the tea party is actively speaking out against the bigotry and ignorance within it. Barack passed the stimulus bill, lowered taxes, and pushed for (weak) healthcare reform. Each party is infected with corporatists, the Republican party more than the Democrats. I like Ron Paul's ideas his team uses racism and xenophobia to gather votes and he doesn't speak out on it so FUCK HIM.
I don't believe this crap. It shouldn't take 10 days to act after a rig blows up. Then you liberals are surprised that it leaked. You all griped cause it took Bush 2 days to get to Katrina, but you all let the whole gulf be engulfed and don't do jack when it's 10 days later. If Bush had done this, you liberals would be rioting. I just want fairness, is that too much to ask in America now days?
@MotionFrequency This took place 8 days ago, it took 3 days to get out the fire out! The report from BP was that 1000 to 5000 gallons a day was leaking until yesterday when the real news came out that it was over 200,000 gallons a day. An though the coast guard was there from day one it took 7 days for jerks like you, rush and fox news(it's already being implied)to try to blame Obama on this mess.
typical
Meanwhile this was one of the regulations that cheney kicked when he met w/big Oil.
You are twisting this to make it the Democrats fault when it was the Republicans idea to drill in the first place. Obama only gave in to off shore drilling because he knew that after the health care bill the Republicans would act like f*ckwads and hinder him for the rest of his presidency, if you want to blame a group blame the Republicans because this is what happens when they get their way... Drill baby Drill
@RareHonesty Your falling right into the trap. They are pitting the people against eachother, while its both parties fault. Its the systems fault. Look at all the people in obamas cabinet its just as bad as the Bush cronies. A buch of israeli influence, continue bailing out banks, a monsanto cronie for agriculture, heck gates and bernanke were re apponted by obama and they served under bush.
True, everyone is at fault here Democrats for letting it happen & Republicans for wanting it despite the obvious risks, but people are so quick to jump on Obama that they neglect the facts and just start spouting off ignorant non-sense that just infuriates me. But it's hard not to loose your temper when some people do play by the same rules, like the rule1 which states that you need to look at the facts and history of the situation before you make a judgment &/or statement.
@RareHonesty I fault the president for saying he was in on day one and that was not the case. He would have been beftter off saying nothing. When he tries to defend himself he brings more focus on him. I heard they are going to use hay and it looks so promising. Have you read the health bill? There are other countries drilling in the gulf. It is the first accident in how many years. Planes crash people don't stop flying
Have YOU read the health bill, because if you have I would like a current copy because I can't find one anywhere? I have not read the bill but it is not for a lack of trying, in any case this country NEEDS health care, out of all the countries that have instated national health care none have overturned it. And I hate to be cynical but a plane crash affects a much smaller pool of people, it only takes one spill to ruin thousands if not millions of lives and the environment.
Tons of people depend on the gulf for their livelihoods and now it's ruined, not to mention what might happen to the employees of the oil company now that they have this to pay for. This is only going to compound the economic recession.
@RareHonesty There is no diff between democrats and republicans. The two are just here to let you think you have a choice. In reality, its all the same people behind your two colors.
@RareHonesty I have not heard anyone pointing the finger at demorats. I figure there will be plenty of blame to go around. I would like to know who exempted BP from an environmental study. Why was the Oil not set on fire at the very beginning once everyone was rescued. That has being a standing order any time there was a big spill. Most of the oil could have been burned off.
@RareHonesty That's a lame attempt to deflect the blame. Obama and Biden were elected and are sitting in the White House, not Palin. Obama even made a nice speech, on tv" where he stated that he approved the expansion of off-shore drilling because it was so safe. If anyone is twisting and spinning the truth, you are. You need to change your user name to "BigBullshitter".
I'm sorry but I don't have time for you because you clearly have not read the whole conversation and you also seem incapable of being polite, Please troll somewhere else...
@RareHonesty For you to say that "Obama only gave in to off shore drilling because he knew that after the health care bill the Republicans would act like f*ckwads and hinder him for the rest of his presidency" is ridiculous. Obama approved the expansion of off-shore drilling because he actually believed it was safe. Obama approved it, not Palin. Just because the extreme far-left liberals
I said conversation; right below that TheNick487 commented that it was the systems fault and no one else's. I agreed and stated that it just makes me mad that people are so quick to find fault with Obama that they neglect the facts; this was Everyones fault. He is no better or worse than any other president we have had. This is the last time I will respond to you, the fight you are looking for will not be found here. God bless unless youre an atheist, in that case have a nice day.
@RareHonesty Stop it, We are Americans First!! ALL of these lying, greedsick, politicians are minipulating your little minds. Politicians = Republicans,Democrats,Independents, and any other political fu#*ing party. We better take Our Country back from these LYING CRIMINALS. They are LYING CRIMINALS not politicians!!!!!!!!!!!! and they are KILLING OUR COUNTRY, WISE UP PEOPLE !!
Why do people respond to the first comment before reading the one directly beneath it...? I re-comment and stated that this is EVERYONE'S fault and the first comment was made only out of frustration that people constantly harass Obama for things that would not make a difference if he were anyone else. He is no better or worse than any other president we have had.
@RareHonesty I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I just want to know. Can anyone tell me why this hole in the bottom of the sea can't be bombed shut? We have some bunker blaster bomb down at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton, Fla, designed to send a concussion through 100 ft. of sand and 30 ft. of concrete and destroy an enemy bunker. Wouldn't a few of these do the trick? Just curious, haven't heard anyone mention a method like this.
@RonnieC777 Amen brother, the Romans had some great ideas, term limits and after their term was up they were banished from the country for years. If we banish them, let's make sure they're sent to a country that already has gun control and socialized medicine since they can't learn from these examples, let's give them a little experience.
@RareHonesty Fact, BP was one of the largest monetary contributers to Obama's campaign, they were then allowed, by government inspectors, to install this well without customary and expensive, safety equipment. BP has a reported world wide profit of 2.4 billion dollars an hour, do you think a damage cap of 75 million will even get their attention. Yeah, right, after they were caught diverting tankers to Canada, they were fined 50 million dollars, chump change.
BP contributed only .01 percent of his $799,000,000 campaign fund... McCain collected $2.4 million from oil and gas contributors while Obama only got $898,000. Your duck looks more like a chicken to me.
@RareHonesty Better yet, it was The Bush Administration that decided to dump the acoustic switch obligation for off-shore drilling. Way to go, GW! Stupid republicans.
@bmw4me1>I live in the Sierras, 6 miles E. of Tahoe, I ride a bike to work 6mo. out of the year weather permitting, I have 2 American made hybrid cars & 1 classic for a family of 4, I built my house 30 years ago powered by solar and added wind 6 yrs ago !
We need oil but if we don't change our dependency on oil then WE make other countries stronger while we damage our own eco system !
Now whats your contribution?
Anything or just same ol BS ? Drill baby Drill !!!
WOuld you please ask the following question on your show:
"What is the chemical formula for the dispersants being sprayed on the spill?"
My understanding is that these chemicals are "proprietary" to the oil companies and that the public has "no right to know" what is in them. Excuse me?
As the Capitalist principle depends on two things which go hand in hand-- competition and the ability to fail as a company-- one would think that companies would do a better job "voluntarily" of trying to minimize these kinds of events. However, as history has shown, there is a tendency for companies to do just the opposite and actually, through negligence, promote them and in so doing their own economic hardships.
@scrantme What history has shown is more like the State covering the asses of incompetent companies and preventing them to fail at taxpayers' expense. BP didn't get that big by not caring about their rigs blowing up. That rig is worth 600-700 millions today: we're talking major bacon. Face it, nobody wanted this to happen, even the most capitalist of all the capitalists.
@StrafingMoose While you are completely correct that the State has now started to cover the expenses of many companies that have been deemed "too big to fail," that concept is no long capitalist in its strictest sense. I was not insinuating at any time that any wanted this tragedy to occur but simply that the decisions taken by these companies led to its happening. I am not saying that they consciously want such events to happen, hence negligence not depraved indifference.
@scrantme It sure was handy that all that dispersal chemical was ready to go. Funny, they don't allow the use of that chemical in Britain. They said they couldn't use it about 10 years ago. Let's see, who was sitting on several warehouses full of the very thing that they could ship over hear and use. I wonder what the shelf life of that stuff is.
thanks for this disaster the consequence is same of explotion atomic bomb the brekage we see for many years of the sealive. where is the security sistem for stop oil mechanical valves
I used to haul crude oil, and other petroleum product's, Believe me when I say they don't care about safety or the environment. They are Bullies, They have all the money and they will do what they want. Regardless.
We've got to get the government regulators to hell out of the oil business. If it wasn't for big government and the Democrats, this never would have happened. Big goverment is to blame. Damn bureaucrats with their regulations. Asshole democrats and meddlers. Quit interfering with private enterprise. The oil business can regulate themselves, they don't need no damn regulations.
This is exactly what happens when you don't have regulations and offshore drilling. I hope somebody forces these BP CEO a..holes and their families to drink this oily water from the spill forever. No offshore drilling. Every teabagging Republican should drink this oily water since they think it is no big deal.
any difference allowing AL-Capone to regulate gangsters in Chigaco? If its not worth their while to impleament ALL possible safety precosures then let them now PAY for the dead n injured workers for the cleap up n charge the directors of negligence leading to so many dead workers its someone responsible for them guys
It's time to "wrestle the earth from fools", as fredrick smith once wrote. This is the time that tries mens souls!!!!!!!!!! we need some "common sense" around here!!! I think our only salvation at this point is a huge cataclysmic event that will kill everybody and the righteous people will ascend to heaven and be happy and the greedy bastards who are efen us up will burn in hell. It will happen anyway to them at some point. So, all's fair I believe.
Well said. Our political leaders are out of control, they are suppose to represent the people not big corporations and there own political agendas. We need an amendment to the constitution that states any political leader who misrepresents the trust of the people will be declared a traitor and subject to the firing squad as such !
@observationclone Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, & Florida all republican states are about to see the reason why you don't just "Drill baby Drill !!!
@observationclone drilling off our coast will help the U.S. oil production by 1 % meanwhile our coast will be destroyed and ruin those states economy because no one wants to swim in oil !
@mytokens One more thing if you want to drill so much, go to natural gas we have tons of that ! And read my comment that I sent mistakenly sent to myself !
@mytokens I have more time then I thought,so let me enlighten U.
besides the environmental effect we use25% of the worlds oil an supply only 2%! if we drill all resources on an off shore we still would not be able to reduce cost !
we use more then we could ever drill,it would take decades to bring new leases into production and a good 5yrs to start production and reduce cost by cents p g !
bush increased production and gas doubled ! an oil is set on global prices all sold @ the same price !
@observationclone One more thing I'm an independent, can you tell me all those great thing the republicans has done for the PEOPLE in the last 20 years ???
@observationclone hay look jerk off, just because I don't believe everything fox news tells me doesn't make me a lib or progressive! And when you repeat everything fox news says, it's obvious your not the independent that you claim to be!
fox, fair & balanced or neutral is insane. just because they put libs on to shout down or interrupt does not make them fair & balanced!
They sponsor groups like freedomworks ,grassfire, recessrally. com an American for prosperity all lobbyist groups !
@observationclone This has nothing to do with politics buddy. I know you watch fox news with that attitude. This oil spill can affect many things and you indirectly. That was by the most ignorant comment i have seen on this comment page. By the way, those who own and promote the oil companies are the majority of Republicans and dear old "Mission accomplished" Bush, and some Democrats. TEA BAG

BP is irresponsible.

It's the u.s. government, they should have regulated the use of an emergency shut off valve, like every other country has by law, until we use alternative sources we need oil, It should just be done more safely and have a much stricter eye on what's going on.

and i recently started being a client of a local company.. they sell financial products let's put it this way. they are rated poorly by the government with a high risk of fraud because they beat down repeated attempts by IRS who were just trying to harass them for extra tax money.. and when they fought the government in court, they got poor business ratings. and during the recent financial storm with lots of fraud going on, they turned out to be one of the only honest companies. government?
spyletu 1 year ago
@spyletu they were selling physical gold and silver.. if you haven't kept up to latest news, the market is currently trading gold and silver leveraged up as much as possibly on a ratio 1000:1 and there is a lot of fraud going on. this company turned out to be genuine despite repeated harassment by the government. government regulators are EVERYWHERE and most of time they're just harassing for money.. of course they will be there when accidents happen as well.. broken clock is right twice a day
spyletu 1 year ago
complying with the rest 99% of the false rules and regulations that don't work will perhaps cause harm and slow down growth to the damage 100 folds of that done by the oil spill? EVER considered that possibility? did you even read specific detail or every conversation between government worker and the oil rig company to make sure they didn't have corrupted ties in the first place or that regulators were harassing them for money more than anything else thus not taken seriously? vent on.
spyletu 1 year ago
and say government is right 1% of the time and you make every freaking single body comply with it, how much extra human resource and equipment is that going to take (let's even avoid using the term money cus that's gonna tick retards off)? how will the general living standard fare with the same products taking more and more resources to produce? government rules are everywhere when some accidents happen OF COURSE you can point to them and say "LOOK, someone warned you".. idiots.. god.
spyletu 1 year ago
besides all the investors that invested have lost their money.. next time they will look for oil rigs with better safety precautions before they invest. if government regulations had zero false-positives or if their false-positive ratio were even at a decent reasonable level--let's say if they're decent enough to qualify as "rarely working", do you think they would have such mockery in the society? if i'm not mistaken there has been like TWO oil leaks in recent decades.. ignorance.
spyletu 1 year ago
protecting property is a function in the original concept of LIMITED government cenk.. "free market" is a market that operates under limited government not NO government.. fraud law and property protection still apply and that has nothing to do with abusive rules written by other politicians that caused the housing bubble.. if it is as you say rules (also cheap gov. money) should run wild instead why don't you make a case comparing the crash of 08 to the oil spill and see which is worse
spyletu 1 year ago
@spyletu goldman sach's operation could also be handled with fraud law btw if our politicians weren't so corrupted and that would still be under the purview of the free market (limited government).

Check "Leaked report: Government fears Deepwater Horizon well could become unchecked gusher":

It doesn't matter what the TEA KLUX KLAN or moronic republicans have to say about this issue. It doesn't change the fact that off-shore drilling has RUINED the livelihoods of people living in the most conservative states. I want to see these conservatives attack liberals for this then try to sell their UNLEADED FISH.... LMAO. There is a God.
rfrantzt 1 year ago
@rfrantzt The tea party has mostly good people, theyve been hijacked by the neocons and misrepresented. The hard core lbertarians and ron paul types are leaving the movement. Obamas policies about the bailouts and the wars and the spying are no different than Bush. The smart liberals should see this and join us independents instead of letting the elites divide and conquer tactics work.
TheNick487 1 year ago
@TheNick487 FALSE, the tea party is supposedly all fired up (for nebulous reasons) but they don't speak out against the bigoted signs and fringe elements. The tea party WELCOMES the bigots, which means most of them AGREE with the bigotry. I like the successes that Barack has made in terms of pushing for transparency. The presidency is NOT an all-powerful position, so he will have to chip away slowly. Nonetheless the last presidential election was staged.
rfrantzt 1 year ago
@rfrantzt The tea party was hijacked and is misrepresented, The only people who actually believe we should end wars, have a transparent sound monetary system, actually repeal all of Bush's policies are the Ron paul Repubs. Obama hasnt rolled back any of Bush's policies in fact continued them, and just a few months ago didn't he renig on his drilling moratorium? Dems control the whole govt. now. so why?
TheNick487 1 year ago

An though the coast guard was there from day one it took 7 days for jerks like you, rush and fox news(it's already being implied)to try to blame Obama on this mess.
typical
Meanwhile this was one of the regulations that cheney kicked when he met w/big Oil.
mytokens 1 year ago

You are twisting this to make it the Democrats fault when it was the Republicans idea to drill in the first place. Obama only gave in to off shore drilling because he knew that after the health care bill the Republicans would act like f*ckwads and hinder him for the rest of his presidency, if you want to blame a group blame the Republicans because this is what happens when they get their way... Drill baby Drill
RareHonesty 1 year ago 26
@RareHonesty Your falling right into the trap. They are pitting the people against eachother, while its both parties fault. Its the systems fault. Look at all the people in obamas cabinet its just as bad as the Bush cronies. A buch of israeli influence, continue bailing out banks, a monsanto cronie for agriculture, heck gates and bernanke were re apponted by obama and they served under bush.
TheNick487 1 year ago
@TheNick487
RareHonesty 1 year ago 8
@RareHonesty I fault the president for saying he was in on day one and that was not the case. He would have been beftter off saying nothing. When he tries to defend himself he brings more focus on him. I heard they are going to use hay and it looks so promising. Have you read the health bill? There are other countries drilling in the gulf. It is the first accident in how many years. Planes crash people don't stop flying
nickeldoor5 1 year ago
@nickeldoor5
RareHonesty 1 year ago
@nickeldoor5

Most of the oil could have been burned off.
nickeldoor5 1 year ago
@RareHonesty That's a lame attempt to deflect the blame. Obama and Biden were elected and are sitting in the White House, not Palin. Obama even made a nice speech, on tv" where he stated that he approved the expansion of off-shore drilling because it was so safe. If anyone is twisting and spinning the truth, you are. You need to change your user name to "BigBullshitter".

I'm sorry but I don't have time for you because you clearly have not read the whole conversation and you also seem incapable of being polite, Please troll somewhere else...
RareHonesty 1 year ago
@RareHonesty For you to say that "Obama only gave in to off shore drilling because he knew that after the health care bill the Republicans would act like f*ckwads and hinder him for the rest of his presidency" is ridiculous. Obama approved the expansion of off-shore drilling because he actually believed it was safe. Obama approved it, not Palin. Just because the extreme far-left liberals
believe your dribble, doesn't make it true.

@ternew77

I have a feeling that something like that would only make things worse but I'm not an oil expert.
RareHonesty 1 year ago
@RonnieC777 Amen brother, the Romans had some great ideas, term limits and after their term was up they were banished from the country for years. If we banish them, let's make sure they're sent to a country that already has gun control and socialized medicine since they can't learn from these examples, let's give them a little experience.
fieldho 1 year ago
@RareHonesty Fact, BP was one of the largest monetary contributers to Obama's campaign, they were then allowed, by government inspectors, to install this well without customary and expensive, safety equipment. BP has a reported world wide profit of 2.4 billion dollars an hour, do you think a damage cap of 75 million will even get their attention. Yeah, right, after they were caught diverting tankers to Canada, they were fined 50 million dollars, chump change.
fieldho 1 year ago
@fieldho
BP contributed only .01 percent of his $799,000,000 campaign fund... McCain collected $2.4 million from oil and gas contributors while Obama only got $898,000. Your duck looks more like a chicken to me.

Correction: 210,000 gallons a day.
WOuld you please ask the following question on your show:
"What is the chemical formula for the dispersants being sprayed on the spill?"
My understanding is that these chemicals are "proprietary" to the oil companies and that the public has "no right to know" what is in them. Excuse me?
nodesnetwork 1 year ago
As the Capitalist principle depends on two things which go hand in hand-- competition and the ability to fail as a company-- one would think that companies would do a better job "voluntarily" of trying to minimize these kinds of events. However, as history has shown, there is a tendency for companies to do just the opposite and actually, through negligence, promote them and in so doing their own economic hardships.
scrantme 1 year ago
@scrantme What history has shown is more like the State covering the asses of incompetent companies and preventing them to fail at taxpayers' expense. BP didn't get that big by not caring about their rigs blowing up. That rig is worth 600-700 millions today: we're talking major bacon. Face it, nobody wanted this to happen, even the most capitalist of all the capitalists.
StrafingMoose 1 year ago
@StrafingMoose While you are completely correct that the State has now started to cover the expenses of many companies that have been deemed "too big to fail," that concept is no long capitalist in its strictest sense. I was not insinuating at any time that any wanted this tragedy to occur but simply that the decisions taken by these companies led to its happening. I am not saying that they consciously want such events to happen, hence negligence not depraved indifference.
scrantme 1 year ago
@scrantme It sure was handy that all that dispersal chemical was ready to go. Funny, they don't allow the use of that chemical in Britain. They said they couldn't use it about 10 years ago. Let's see, who was sitting on several warehouses full of the very thing that they could ship over hear and use. I wonder what the shelf life of that stuff is.

YentaY0 1 year ago
This is exactly what happens when you don't have regulations and offshore drilling. I hope somebody forces these BP CEO a..holes and their families to drink this oily water from the spill forever. No offshore drilling. Every teabagging Republican should drink this oily water since they think it is no big deal.
fdrisgreat 1 year ago
All republicans that were all "drill baby drill" should be cleaning this oil spill up with their tounges.
Thank goodness this happened in the south. The southern idiots wanted to drill, now deal with the consequences of when oil leaks occur.
I hope BP goes out of business because of this spill.

any difference allowing AL-Capone to regulate gangsters in Chigaco?

They'll sell our oil back to us for prices you can't afford.

observationclone 1 year ago
@observationclone there's info all over the internet on this subject, do the research !
10 yrs ain't shit it'll take 5 just to get to it not to mention the lack of refineries to convert it to gas,and will be minimal in cost reduction.
we need alternatives besides oil and coal like wind and solar that will make us independent from these country's that control or future!
Think China's not going to wind, solar or nuclear?
Do research not what the oil company's or palin want you to believe !
mytokens 1 year ago
@mytokens One more thing if you want to drill so much, go to natural gas we have tons of that ! And read my comment that I sent mistakenly sent to myself !
mytokens 1 year ago
@mytokens I have more time then I thought,so let me enlighten U.
besides the environmental effect we use25% of the worlds oil an supply only 2%! if we drill all resources on an off shore we still would not be able to reduce cost !
we use more then we could ever drill,it would take decades to bring new leases into production and a good 5yrs to start production and reduce cost by cents p g !
bush increased production and gas doubled ! an oil is set on global prices all sold @ the same price !
mytokens 1 year ago
@observationclone One more thing I'm an independent, can you tell me all those great thing the republicans has done for the PEOPLE in the last 20 years ???

@observationclone hay look jerk off, just because I don't believe everything fox news tells me doesn't make me a lib or progressive! And when you repeat everything fox news says, it's obvious your not the independent that you claim to be!
fox, fair & balanced or neutral is insane. just because they put libs on to shout down or interrupt does not make them fair & balanced!
They sponsor groups like freedomworks ,grassfire, recessrally. com an American for prosperity all lobbyist groups !
mytokens 1 year ago
@observationclone This has nothing to do with politics buddy. I know you watch fox news with that attitude. This oil spill can affect many things and you indirectly. That was by the most ignorant comment i have seen on this comment page. By the way, those who own and promote the oil companies are the majority of Republicans and dear old "Mission accomplished" Bush, and some Democrats. TEA BAG
kangsan2014 1 year ago
@kangsan2014
There you go with your fantasy generalizations.
I rarely watch Fox, but they aren't conservative; they are neutral.
They have flaming liberals and staunch conservatives given equal time on Fox.
MSM is nothing but pure propaganda for the left.
There's not even any illusion of fairness.
And teabagging is something liberals do at interstate rest stops. Your reality isn't my reality.
