1. Private Enterprise is wonderful, but then keep them from lobbying to OUR representatives in government. The problem isn't with the services they could offer. It's that as that private enterprise grows, they will start to devour their competition and eventually use their power to sway government policies to prevent other private enterprises that could offer even better services from ever threatening them. Remember AT&T? Hey if you didn't like their service before they were broken up, too bad.

@gmakepiece You know, i come from a country with unemployment of just on 5%, we have universal health care and subsidised university education and goverment debt is under 20% of GDP (vs your 90-100%). I receive income supprt whilst i'm studying at university and my part time job stacking shelves at the local supermark pays me 19 dollars an hour. Our welfare system (unlike yours) is completely sustainable in part because we implemented a compulsary, private superannuation system in 1992 which has assets of around 1.6 trillion dollars (for working population of 11 million). Incentives?? perhaps world class university education in which entry is earned through academic merit, not the ability to pay. Our birth rates is also double the death rate and yes, people flock here.

No such thing as "free" medical care. SOMEBODY pays..the TAXPAYER. Only way to limit costs is to limit treatment. i am on the left of politics but i do enjoy listening to this guy. My main problem is that its all talk. Conservatives have never done anything that they've talked about rather using it to gain power and use it for their own purpose.
