If he does a bunch of things people don't like but things work out in the end, people remember you fondly. If they don't, people end up picking you apart. If the team wins the cup in the next couple of years, this will be forgotten. If they continue to choke in the playoffs, everything from Linden to Tommy's forced retirement is back on the table.

I have met Linden. He's a sweetheart. I've also met the rest of the team, Linden was the only one who looked at me or talked to me at all. It's not all about his hockey skills, it's about how he's a good person, those are tough to find nowadays. His leadership, ability to relate and talk to the team, kindness and heart was what made him a legend.

(And I'm defiantly old enough to remember the days long past!)

I feel Trevor was kind of pushed into retirement myself. But regardless of what really happened it would of been a sad day no matter what the situation. Maybe it was Trevor's choice and the die hard Canuck fans like myself don't want to believe that he wanted to quit. Trevor Linden is my favorite Canuck of all time (2nd is Kirk Mclean). Trev is a total class act and will always be an icon in Vancouver for his hard work and dedication to Canuck Place. We'll miss you Trevor. I'll never forget the 94 playoffs, the best damn hockey I've ever seen even if we lost.
