Hey man..that funny at the end 'Still get Laid'! It is true....most people think toy collecting is for people who dont have a life but it's alot of fun once they see all that stuff displayed nicely.
I'd say you just about covered it. Wow! I think it's cool that your stuff survived. Most of my stuff is buried in the backyard of my parent's old house. Some lucky kid will find a shitload of toys some day...
Don't you just hate how every new figure is actually a variation of the Movie figures? I mean damn, they did that with the music figures, and also this new back to teh sewer series. DAMN U PLAYMATES. Go back to the roots.
Damn , thats one sweet collection dude ! i saw a street shark over there that was such a sweet cartoon together with biker mice ! but still turtles rule :-D!
The only thing that rules from the 80s you reaaally need to get it MASK. Kenner did great stuff, of course. Also, any money you put into MASK will probably end up selling for more later on , should you decide to not collect it. The real heavy nostalgia-wave has yet to hit our generation full-force. Somehow, I have the Boulder Hill playset, complete down to the instructions, with a near-mint box. The box was folded and stowed away in a closet for some reason. Thanks for sharing your stuff.
I have a couple of M.A.S.K. toys left, I use to have at least a dozen of the vehicles along with the figures, I think most of them ended up in my old sand box along with a handful of my GI Joes and Go-Bots.
So the vast majority of your 80s/early90s stuff is actually from your childhood? My Star Wars survived very well, some GIJoe, and only 2 Transformers- Galvatron g1 and Astrotrain. My star Wars pretty much makes up for it though, with items like POTF vintage figures near mint and the Imperial Shuttle complete ,instructions and box in good shape. Complete Ewok village, Jabbas Throne, most of the vehicles. I'm just starting on Transformers though, sadly. I'm 31. I too have this sex you speak of
I have a Han Solo from Empire Strikes Back and a couple of things from Return of the Jedi I've kept from my childhood. I always like Star Wars but the fandom never hit me like it did some I was just always more into toys that were based off of animated shows when I was young.
I don't really use any of the methods like taping or tacking I just make sure the surface is really level and position the figuring in a balanced stance, it's all simple physics really hehe, aside from that I really have no tips, it can be a pain in the ass finding the balancing point for hundreds of figurines but most are made to stand and hold positions.
It's over a period of 25 years. Things that my parents bought me when I was a child, stuff I collected while I was in school, only about 10 percent of it has been bought in my adulthood. I've only ever bought 3 or 4 vintage things off of ebay, so the majority of my old toys I've had since the time that they came out.
yup, i never had that happen with my collection unless the figure was already broken. I wish i didn't sell my toys.......i had a collection similar to what you have but
I have a handful of Spawn stuff, but most of my Marvel figures are from the early 80s to mid 90s which you can see in this video obviously, the Marvel Legends figures are cool though for sure.
I don't have half of the GI Joes that I use to. The bad thing about those is over time the rubber band that holds the legs to their bodies starts to decay and eventually snaps in half, I had about 14 GI Joes meet that fate.
Thanks friend, the great thing about collecting TMNT is that it is almost impossible to collect absolutely everything in a lifetime, a plethora of merchandise throughout a span of 25 years. If you decide to start collecting though, good on ya! Be sure to check out my videos specifically dedicated to my TMNT collection it shows far more than this particular video. I also have a video dedicated strictly to my MotU collection. Thanks for watchin!
But thats where a toys greatness lies when it is played with i personally open evrything i buy an use it i mean its all great to have a box collection but i just like to look and feel my collection you know what they say if a toy hasnt been played with after 100 years it comes to life and takes revenge on the persons family
It's all a matter of preference. I'm more or less looking out for when I have kids now, they'll eventually take it all over and do with it as they will. Some stuff they may be able to get a buck or two if they sell it in the package, but if not they'll open them....I dunno... I keep talking about my unborn children, none of this is relevant right now.
well for example i had a ginourmus anime / toy collection i had been collecting since 1996 and i had ammas a huge amount i never played with them i opened some and poesd them but never played with and then my parents got divorced i couldnt move my toys out of the house and my jackhole father gave the toys and animes to my DB stepbrother i mean it was probably as big as yours i had evry tenchi muyo scroll toy and movie i even had the limeted sahhirts but my brothre opened all my
toys and sold or traded all my books and scroll only id say i got 3% of what i had back and i wasnt mad i just regretted the fact that i never got the chance to enjoy them i think if you enjoy them let your kids enjoy them since then ive beenm building back up my anime collection and hell the kid my brother trade most of my stuff to his older brother was a good buddy of mine so just last year i got all my lve hina stuff and most of my gundam movies back
Very cool dude, glad you agree with me. I have some of the figures based off the original TMNT just didn't show them in this video, I have a separate video dedicated entirely to my TMNT collection if you want to check it out. That's cool about your DBZ collection, a lot of good figures and different series to collect, I've obviously just focused most of my attention on TMNT.
yes i definately wanna check out your TMNT collection, been a huge fan of them for like 20 years (but mainly the oldschool edition i actually dont like the new cartoon series so their toys r not as interesting to me lol)
C.O.P.S., Masters of the Universe, Rock Lords, Go-Bots, Police Academy, Dick Tracy, Centurions, Battle Beasts, Visionaries, Super Naturals, Double Dragon, Mummies Alive, McFarlane Toys, various Anime toys, Silverhawks, Thundercats, Captain Planet, Power Rangers, BraveStar, GI Joe, Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, Pee Wee's Playhouse, Muppet Babies, California Raisins, DC Toys, Marvel Toys, Transformers, Misfits, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, South Park, Super Mario Bros, Megaman, I think that's most of it
nice collection =)..I buy all my vintage figures brand new or at least display condition with all accesories. You should have put some spotlights on or something,,very dark.
A lot of my collection I bought when they actually came out, hence why everything doesn't have their accessories, really easy to lose over a span of 20 + years, everything I buy currently I don't open.
I bought it like that, actually the three that they had at the store all had their helmet off, I may be mistaken but from my understanding they did two different versions, one with the helmet on, one with the helmet off because kid's that had not seen the movie weren't able to identify the character as Raphael with the helmet on. It has not been opened and the helmet is held in an indention in the plastic above Raphael's head, so it's suppose to be that way, so this is all I can figure.
The comic book store that I frequent just got them in and are holding a set for me, so I'm actually planning on getting them next week, no one had them around here until just recently. I've had my eye on those guys since I read about them in a magazine months ago. The video that you have showing them off just makes them even more enticing.

Thanks. Yeah Street Sharks were pretty cool, and Biker Mice from Mars as well. Biker Mice almost had the same voice cast on the cartoon as TMNT.
