yes my friend was the late brian hofsteadler he also worked at krdotv with his dxc-1620 there then the rca tk-76b at krdot my other friend was mr dave steinke there too. alll and all greaat times now with this "new' open song there to me it just sucks.. too much animation there. not enough live trucks etc etc ..
@teddbear52 Accually The "Live Action Cam" came into effect at this time. 9News took the ball and ran with it and zoomed to the top the news race. You can see one of those trucks in the opening title sequence. KRDO-TV in my hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado really copied 9News at this time. Of course they were both ABC affilates at the time as well.
@mratfauver Not true. The "Sounder" would be used starting in 1981. Even before they changed their calls to KUSA. KBTV was just recently accquired by Gannett at that time.
@donmccullen "Recently?!" Yeah, right! KBTV's ownership by Gannett predates this clip by a good few months. They've been a member of the Gannett family since 1979.
@mratfauver That is the point Mrafauver. Gannett bought out Combined Communcations in 1979. That sounds pretty recent. I was able to see certain ID Cards and their was a still pick of the Gannett Logo card in use and that would be replaced with the Death Star Sounder soon enough. 9News might have not have all the tools just yet. Certain things don't happen overnight.
and they changed at krdo tv the news set (great!) but nooo sat truck yet. have to relly on "shype " there.

What? No Gannett sounder before the 9NEWS open?

@newscaster13 IIRC, the "Gannett sounder", as you call it, didn't come into use until after the call letter change to KUSA in 1984.
