@sitkatop their acoustics arent even that bad. some are pretty good. but it is electrics and amplifiers that are more or less fenders strong spots. anyways, i love fender. just goes to show how different people like different stuff right?

An 82 Guild has nothing to do with Fender. Fender bought Guild in the early nineties, but until  2003 Guilds were built in the old Guild factory in Westerly Long Island. But even later on when they moved Guild production in Tacoma, I wouldn't call a Guild guitar... a ''Fender''. As far as i know FENDER USA has no traddition in making serious acoustic guitars which is why they bought Guild.

Οh...I  see. Yes fender electrics are unique sounding, especially the classic-design USA -made strats and teles. I am not sure about the modern-design ones, with the fancy electronics and such... they may be great but i don't know how much ''fender sound'' is left in them.

I have played guilds since the mid 80's preferring them to martins, gibsons etc. I can honestly say that the best guild I have ever owned is the one I have just bought. Its a D55 brand spanking from Tacoma ... I still have a gorgeous blonde F50R from '74 but this new one is simply thunder in a wooden box and the best sounding D55 I have ever heard. Thanks Fender for finally taking guilds seriously. I urge anyone to check 'em out.

Wow, that Guild sounds Awesome! Better than any Martin demos I've heard. I am about to buy a high end acoustic. I've always had a soft spot for Guild because I own a Madeira that I love. I'll either get a Martin or a Guild...I definitely think the Guild's are more unique. This one sounds amazing and your playing is great.

thanks khasperg, the Guilds are the Best IMHO...I play this f50 every day and fool around with the others. If you buy another guitar, get the F50 Guild, you will always be glad you did...

Hey Pete, that would be one of those GREAT buys from eBay! Snap it up man. The F50 is the best guitar out there. Ive played plenty a Martin and Gibson...in my day but the F50 is (by far) the best sounding guitar Ive ever played...and own! :-)

Yeah, I do really want an F50, but the cheapest they have them on Ebay is about $1400. I know it's a steal, but with the stock market crash and all I'm low on money and can't spend more than $900 on a guitar. God I really wish for one of these, but I'm happy with my Epiphone jumbo, it works well for me.
