  • Yeah... that was scary.

  • THATS SCARY THAT SONG JUST WANTS TO MAKE ME CRY I DINT SEE THE RADAR WE HAD IT ON NICKALOADEN D: SCARY THAT DAY CHANGED MY LIFE I MISS MY OLD HOUSE I WAS RAISED IN IT D: D: D: D: !

  • I have to correct my statement about the winds. It was recorded in The Plains as being 110mph - 120mph. Sitting in my car on the hill behind the FB stadium, I seriously was praying that my car did not roll over. I can't believe there were people standing outside at that time. I considered getting out of my car, but feared flying debris and boards were flying above my car. I just kept saying out loud "I don't know what to do."

I'm very thankful we all survived...

    TO LIFE !

  • me my brother and my dad were at at my brothers foot ball game.so after we whent to athens for dinner.we were leaving and then we heard the sirons go off.

  • i was in that tornado i seen it shred a tree like paper it was wiked for my first tornado

  • Dear vegasrain84,

I am so glad to hear my video was found useful to Athens H.S. principal, Mr. Meeks. I think this video indeed proves the tornado was present. Youtube is so useful for things like this. Someone on Facebook saw my video, and mentioned they felt it was my duty to post it on Youtube, so the concerned people of the video could also view it at any time for their own purposes. I am glad to hear the Athens School's administration found this.

  • Dear SkyWarn; Andrew Lyons,

Thank you for your validation to the tornado classification. The last I heard, the feds did not want to help anyone in our county. I personally saw all of the destruction in Athens county, and could not believe the enormity of the width of the path, and how it leveled everything in it's way. It may not have been on the ground, but it was there. I've never seen a storm that scarey. There were 2" x 8" x 10' boards blowing 30' feet above my car in a circular pattern.

  • @vegasrain84 Footage was eventually shown of the actual tornado by the principal of AHS proving that is was indeed a tornado.

  • And FEMA says that it wasn't a tornado! You could see the clouds swirling! FEMA is becoming abunce of assholes who don't wanna pay for the insurance of the damage for this kind of disasters!

  • @jmustard10 I agree. You can see the tornado even more clearly in the video from the Honda Dealership. The narrow path of severe damage in The Plains is pretty clear evidence that it was a tornado, but again, the State & Federal Govt didn't want to pay for this, so they pressured the NWS to say that this was "straightline" winds instead of a tornado. Look at the Radar images which clearly show strong rotation in The Plains. Show the NWS these videos. It's pretty clear that this was a tornado.

  • I don't know how you sat there so calming taking that video. I would have had many choice words witnessing that thing. Scarey. Thanks for bravely videoing and posting.

  • @mamacass1997 Brave, no! Stupid, yes! I really didn't think it was a tornado, but a bad storm coming. I jumped in the car immediately after shooting this and raced down the hill towards the football field to go home, but, had to stop half way down the hill, due to flying debris. I then watched the football concession stand blow apart, and later found out, the press box too. It was horrifying at that point, and I took shelter with my dog in the car, as 70mph winds about made my car take flight.
