Actually the Actor who portrays Christian Shepherd has confirmed that he was the one in those shots, and it was HIS eye being shown. So it was actually Man-In-Black who was in the cabin posing as Jacob, taking the form of Christian Shepherd.

Ether way this really does not matter like it use to we kinda know who Jacob is now. It's strange how the story has changed and I don't really like how the writing has been going. Stuff seemed darker the cabin is gone now and the Jacob we didn't know much about doesn't seem like the Jacob we do know about now.
I think the writers gave up on giving us real solid answers and there just filling some gaps in the story with goop. I hate how Jacob popped out of no where and was like hi I'm just a goofy white guy with magic. He should of stayed a ghostly entity just give him a back story and a purpose. It almost seems like they turned the old Jacob into the smoke monster and made a new Jacob that has no place in LOST.

Also the cabin is where Christian would hang out, and we know he is flocke. Furthermore in one episode we see that the black ring around the cabin, which keeps flocke out, is broken, so flocke can pass through.

Nope... Jacob was played by the props manager Rob Kyker. Its in the credits for the episode. He hasn't been in any other episode either. They obviously aren't ever going to "reveal" jacob because the guy who played him isn't an actor.

i think Jacob is simply Jacob...and will turn out to be some ancient man, (kinda like Richard, because you notice through all the years of flashbacks, Richard never ages at all) who knows the islands secrets, and who spends his life, and perhaps even eternity, traveling through time...

whom ever Jacob is.. he must be some how related to Jack.. The only folks we see in the cabin, when it's visited, is relatives of jack (Claire and Christian)..
It also must have something to do with time travel.. In LOST world people can see themselves in the past (Miles seeing his baby self) so It might be Jack or maybe even Jack's Grandfather.. he looked a little 'all knowing' when we see him in the retirement home.. (the shoes)

the scariest thought is that jacob is the john locke from a parralel universe, it is locke himself. that explains the connection between them. or he has an ' bad twin' ( one of sawyers books) one is john locke and one is jeremy bentham!

According to the producers they hired some stunt man to sit in as Jacob in that scene, and now they've got someone to play Jacob. They said we've seen him in the show before, but we've never heard his voice. Or this could all be one big cover up to steer us away from the possibility of Jacob being Locke.

Jacks Dad is actually Jacob, in Lost Season 5 episode 5 or 6, maybe 7, When John goes down the well, and the flashes happen again, he calls out for help, and Jacks Dad comes, and John Asks Jacks Dad what to do, and Jacks Dad says, "You came into my cabon asking me what to do, and I told you to move the island", And that's instantly what made me notice that he is Jacob.

Creators of Lost said that the man who's jacob hasn't spoken yet so it can't be christian..
Also, Christian spoke FOR jacob, he also said that in the cabin when claire was there aswell.

Jacob is Hurley because Hurley is the only one who can find Jacob's cabin.
Hurley loses weight as an old man, and becomes Jacob, the Patron of the Island and travels through time. That's why he brought the guitar back to the island with him.
Either that, or Jacob is Dave.

The man who played Jacob in that scene is a prop designer from LOST. While I myself would love to believe that Locke is Jacob, that is not the actor that plays Locke in that scene.

no i dont think jack is jacob because you can clearly see that jacob has light brown or blondish hair and he has a diffrent shaped nose.i may be totally wrong but am i the only one who thinks that jacob could be christ himself i mean he looks like him beard and long hair and if you watch the episodes you hear people saying things like god loves you like he did jacob or jacob loves you, jacob= jesus hmmmmm?? maybe jacob is the anti christ and locke is christ or maybe i could be talking shit.

its been officially in secrecy announced that we have seen Jacob of the island but not with a speaking part so its not Lock or Jack it could be Angelo Busion who was a patient of jack who fits the role and dose not speak and has appeared of the island Angelo Busion might be Jacob

Well, when we first meet Ben in season 2 he eventually tells Locke that he came there for him, which I heard will be explained why sometime in season 5. Plus, Jacob told John to help him, and Ben didn't hear it. It almost seems as if Ben is keeping Jacob imprisoned or something, leading his people to believe that he is taking orders from Jacob when he isn't. Even though it isn't John, I still think it would be kind of cool to think that.

Nope... Jacob was played by the props manager Rob Kyker. Its in the credits for the episode. He hasn't been in any other episode either. They obviously aren't ever going to "reveal" jacob because the guy who played him isn't an actor.

if anything, Richard is Jacob...but i highly doubt that as well...
i think Jacob is simply Jacob...and will turn out to be some ancient man, (kinda like Richard, because you notice through all the years of flashbacks, Richard never ages at all) who knows the islands secrets, and who spends his life, and perhaps even eternity, traveling through time...
