Maybe the host isn't the best, but I like the uncensored quality of British television. Who cares about the host? The American version has a guy 100x worse than this host - he's called a censor. Last I saw they bleeped out the proper, medical term for a part of the male anatomy. Where do they find these people? Kentucky?
which one came out first i hope it was us so we didnt steal another great show from a foreign country like americas got talent or whatever please reply
@RottNBrain it was filmed in the US eventually but the audience/host/crew were british (besides most of the people we know the other actors were english as well)
Both versions are ok but really the show is about Ryan and Colin they are the funny ones . They make the show what it is not drew carey on clive anderson.
@marc1234j No way. I agree that both versions are pretty funny (the US one will of course always be dearer to me but I digress...) but Whose Line was not a show based only on Colin and Ryan, who were of course hilarious, the show depended on the chemistry that all of the performers had with one another...and Drew, Ryan, Colin, Wayne, Chip, Brad, Greg, Jeff, and all the other performers had amazing chemistry. Honestly Whose Line would not be as funny without them all.
Well, I personally liked Clive better than Drew b/c Clive sat in the chair and did his job. Drew made it about him all the time, often getting sensitive when someone cracks a joke about him, reminding them he makes more money and runs the show. Whenever he god forbid include himself in the games, he likely didn't have that funny of a joke. He was funny at times, but I think he was egotistical about it and I didn't like that about him.
Basically Ryan was dominating this is all I'm saying. It's nice to see him take center stage... I think that in the US version he was cool with just making the occasional crack at Drew and that being most of what was expected of him.
In fact I can only remember him winning the US version a couple of times.
Also cmon guys, not all of the scenes can be winners the first time around... the audiences have to know the actual game to come up with funny scenes.
yeah uk whose line was here first and this was the earlier series. its still funny!! plus this gave you whose line us anyways, so basically itsTheE30guy, you should be greatful this was even produced!
Agreed, Dont get me wrong the American performers are good but if you look at the series overall it was mainly dominated by UK performers.. for example Josie Laurence and tony slattery where in near EVERY episode, Just as Ryan and colon to the apparent US version.. Ahh well, For me its the British one i follow
People just dont seem to understand that THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL and that the humour is ofcourse going to be different as it is made for an UNCENSORED audience..
Hence why you see jokes and quotes in the UK version that you would never hear in the so called "American whose line"
I do have appreciation for other performers. But it's improv and obviously he was getting alot of ideas so he just went for it. i love all the other performers, theyre awsome.
well it was the english version ppl so no wonder ppl onli recognise ryan (or chip) as it was in england so mainly going to get the 80's comedians from england...
Why do people argue about which is better, UK or US? I just love them for the comedy... and ryan *giggles* but its stupid to hate one and love the other, there both the same, just a little bit different (does that make sense?)
I'm from the UK, and I saw the UK version first, and I loved it - so then I watched the US version and loved it even more. I like the UK one better for the games, but the US one better for the contestants, the audience and the presenter. They're both awesome, though :)
Actually, for Film Dub, I think the players are shown a number of film clips before the taping, and then one is chosen at random when the time comes to play the game. Because, yeah, otherwise it would just result in chaos, with no one having any idea when to start talking.
I expect they do something similar for games like Greatest Hits, with the styles of music being announced beforehand.
Well, I'm from America, and, quite frankly, "watching the US version" doesn't give you the authority to say "the UK version is crap."
Maybe it would be better to, you know, WATCH the UK version before completely dismissing it. (Not a lot of people seem to do that.) I don't care if you like the US version better, I care if you don't even give the UK version a chance. *pout* It's good, really!
how typical of you tubers to turn this into a gay argument about wbo's country is better and chucking shitty insults around like "enjoy your dirty teeth". im not sure what thats supposed to mean.. its not really specific to nationality wether or not you have dirty teeth, its more specific to whether or not you have a tooth brush. or a dentist
so people have different tastes in what's funny -- why should you care what other people think is better? just watch what you like and leave your "who's better" opinions to yourself. and since Ryan's Canadian, it's not completely a US vs. UK thing is it? =)
being born in seattle would make him 1st generation american. his parents are canadian, so i guess he's canadian-american or something. or maybe we're all thinking about this way too much. what do you think?
It's a different brand of humour; yes, but snobbishly turning up your nose just because it's a little lower-brow is pretty ignorant. It's one thing not to like something; it's another to be a snob about it.
People like different types of humour; as for me, I like them both- there's a time and a place for cerebral wit, and there's a time and place for slapstick.

And often enough the film dub games DO descend into chaos. Especially when there's three people.
