  • Nice fucking song. I love the weird and different interpretations mike does with the verses.

  • i love this song, in fact i love DT :D

  • Goosebumps

  • Esta es la mejor obra de Dream Theater. Se extrañará la faceta de lo que fue en su momento la eminencia del rock progresivo...

  • I miss this type of song in the actual DT T_T

  • 2 people havent hitted puberty and still listen to jonas brothers

  • @space78511 One person doesn't know how to speak proper English. You

  • only in there dreams the jonas brothers can play this

  • @space78511 nope, not even then

  • anyone else think Mike Portnoy looks like Mick Foley?

  • 2 people have not transcended the depths of winter's snow.

  • the 2 poeple that disliked this song need to slowly remove their tampons, this song is amazing

  • the best song!

  • I looked up "epic" from the dictionary and found a link to this video.

  • I came lol

  • @MASZ8 I simultaneously came, cried and nosebled.

  • 4:03 - 4:19 :O

  • Comment removed

  • 8:01 That part James' vocals is always stuck in my head.

  • that's the best intro to a song I have ever heard.

Everytime I hear the intro I just realize.... there is no band like DT.

  • 6:34 flying stick!

    lol!

  • I love this song but personally I think Octavarium is more epic.

  • @destructionman1 Couldn't agree more.

  • @destructionman1 Ya. Your Right Because They Don't Play This Song As Good As It Is In The Album Version.

They Play Octavarium As Good As They Do In Their Album Version. xD

  • This is the concert that Mike Portnoy passed out due to dehydration. Right?

  • @whoareyou134 yess

  • it's so weird seeing Jordan with hair

  • Greatest. Song. Ever. Written.

  • What a masterpiece !

  • That riff at 3:43 is one of the best i've ever heard ! :D

  • awkward parting of videos. ruins the climax :(

  • Will all you bastards just shut up and listen to the damn song? Why does everyone have to argue their opinions out?

  • This is my favorite song of all time, everytime I listen to it I almost feel like crying. It's so beautiful, there's so much emotion to it.

I wish I could play it, but there are no tabs for the whole thing, not even a book, I can't read music and there are no lessons of it. Also my ear isn't very good. I can play clean through the first 3 minutes or so of it though. ^^

I love these guys, saw them in Ottawa and would see them every show if I could, they kick EVERYONE'S ass.

  • finally I found it. I love this video trilogy. Thanks

  • U gotta love Petrucci!!!!

  • makes me sick songs like these will never be as popular as "fitty cent" fuck this world.....

  • @halo3forlyfe but they will be known forever. don't worry.

  • I think LaBrie was replaced with a pitbull around 5:42...

  • 8:08 James is God!

  • you don't know nothing about music if you believe that this song sucks!!!!

  • yeah just to create but once the whole thing done they dont improvise their music out of spite lol

  • fuckin' amazing

actually, i guess that here is the best song of

    DT...

  • thats what im saying lol

  • well they mostly put the magic there because they have a specific technic, one thing I learn from that kind of band is that its play note by note, this is not the same thing as G3 with different artist

  • @fefi20 Because a change of seasons is a very complex song (and so it is progressive rock/metal), full of meter changes, modulations and hard rythms, everything previously thought, constructed. Like a biulding, if you move something from it's place it'll probably collapse, so the oportunities to improvise are a few.

  • @fefi20 to create this song, they had to improvise

  • well these guys play note by note, no improvisation there

  • @fefi20 you knw what, there's a lot of magic you can do during a recording, you knw what i mean?they just showed you that they can do it as it is,NO TRICKS! and besides, this ain't no blues jammin' dude, where you can put all the improvisation you want..try G3 perhaps,if thats what you're lookin for..peace..

  • thanks for upload the full song ^^ this song is awesome..

  • wow mike portnoy singin wooow

  • Simple...

    A Change of Seasons>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ALL

  • the monster of progressive rock!

  • lol no, not even close

  • LoL yeah, because, those slow parts are random riffs, amirite? I'm pretty sure you haven't even tried to listen to this song

  • not random buddy ...this song is one of the greate3st songs they have ever written and it has the biggest meaning of all...its about the drummers mom dieing in a plane crash after he told her not to go.....they try their hardest for this song ...if you listen to the fucking album sounds the exact same as this version stupid fuck...learn music you fucking retard

  • @menandjarproduction The song is specifically about a day in mike portnoys life where his teacher taught about seizing the day, and told all the kids to go home and tell their parents that they loved them. So mike did that, then the next day, his mom was on a flight, and it crashed.

  • @menandjarproduction I agree, this version is a little different because James does a few things different with his voice that are superior, and the band does not sing backup on the live version. This is their best song IMHO.

  • @menandjarproduction I particularly like the friendly beginning and vile end of this comment... "not random buddy... learn music you fucking retard" lol

  • @menandjarproduction it's only carpe diem that's about portnoy's mother.

  • fuck you and your lame opinions

  • chingvang559, have you even listened to the song? How could you compare those two? :| Dream Theater is the best. No such thing as "random" when it is Dream Theater that creates it.

  • @chingvang559

If those riffs are "random" I would like to know what isn't.

  • @chingvang559

    you're an ingnorant

  • @chingvang559 ??????? you mean art of life better than this..... securely you don t play music... only listen and dont have sense of music... art of life is an 15 min. of repeated keyboard melodies and other 18 min. of easy listening music.. and other thing... jhon petrucci is actually world's best guitarrist and i don t think that the world' s best guitarrist play random riffs on a song unless it be an improvisation so better dont comment if dont know about music......

  • @PESNATALIA progressive metal*

  • Una de las mejores canciones de Dream Theater!

  • increible rola! muchisimas gracias, a lot of thanks incredible song!
