anyways i used it a fucking lot the first day i had it went on the internet stuff like that and it was hot and the battery was worst but since weekend is over and i cant use my phone every two minutes in work the battery is good and it doesnt even get warm...

um no, the battery life is WAY WAY WAY better then that... i have had mine on all day since 7am its 3am and its at 30% and thats with phone calls and txtn. the battery life is really great if u turn off the 3g network(if ur not using the internet) and turn the brightness down.

this is not a usage, its a phone for internet, on 3G on skype in 20 minutes it takes 20% of the battery its not funny... if youre saying that it has battery better than iphones before then i cant imagine how shitty old iphones are... 3GS is good but still the battery... on the other side you can understand but still if it lasted a day with constant msn it would be great =[

yes the previous versions of the iphone SUCK for battery this one is way way better then those but not even close to blackberry yet. I went from a blackberry where the battery lasts about 2, 3 days to a iphone where it lasts barely 12 hours.

hmm thats cool, i never used blackberry.. i was on windows mobile, had blackjack, it came with 2 batteries regular which with some internet lasted for 5 hours, without barely a day, and a big battery which made phone 2 times thicker could last for 2-3 days with some internet so for me iphone is something in between... im never comming back to WM though so lagy.. applications use the RAM as storage!! and phone lags and you cant clean it because its too complicated..

Yeah WM not that great of a choice, they are cool looking though. Idk i just am carrying 2 phones around incase my iphone dies i just pull out the good old blackberry and change sim cards and im all set.

The battery on the 3G S is smaller than the batter on the 3G. Hence, battery life is actually shorter than the older Iphone. On Apple's website, they actually recommend you to turn off the 3G to extend battery life!

it is in the 3.0 os in the 3G just disabled the switch on the 3G...

to get access to this feature and make it look exactly like the one in this video, jailbreak, install cydia, install syssettings, in sys settings go to more, then click numerical battery and voila

actually thats where your wrong... jailbreaking uses the DFU mode process to jailbreak which in turn can be used to restore or revive (if u will) any ipod touch / iphone... that is... if your software craps out on you hook it up with the jailbreaking software and it shall to restored back to its working state...

its cool. i see where your coming from. ive been interrupted during baseband flashing and thought i bricked it. i ended up reflashing and some other tools. but just a regular jailbreak it pretty safe because you can always do a restore in iTunes. if they release it for my 3gs im not going to do it tho. its too fast and stable right now. it slowed down my first gen like crazy.

Noo.. AllThingsMac1.. the iPhone 1st gen and iPhone 3G do not have compass hardware built in so they are not capable of doing that. The iPhone 3GS, however, does.

there are compass apps, but you can not get a real compass as seen on the 3g S. The 3g S has a real magnetic compass built into the phone. there is nothing you can do on the 3g to add a true magnetic compass unless you plan on opening the phone and working with the hardware.
