I remember this; when Valk scored, I literally jumped & almost hit the ceiling in excitement! The Leafs were in the conference finals!:-D Good times...yeah, they lost vs Buffalo in the East Final, but I wasn't suprised that Buffalo won either. Still, that was a fun spring to be a Leaf fan. The Habs missed the playoffs that year too, the Red Wings were dethroned by the Avs in the 2nd round, while Dallas & Colorado met in a thrilling 7-game Western Conference Final. Life was good:-D ;-)

Didn't see it here ... i only remember seeing it in the post game segment with Don Cherry following the game, and it was hilarious. Too bad they traded Markov away after the 2001 season - I think that was the main reason for the Leafs defensive struggled in the second half of Quinn's tenure ('03, '04 and even 02 to a lesser extent). Instead, we had Aki Berg logging 20 mins every game.

yes, it was very hilarious! after that day, Jagr changed his goal scoring celebration from a salute to a kiss to his fingers and pointing to the sky... too funny!

and yeah, he was a great defenseman for us. Defense was always a problem in TO, so yeah, in a way even though we had great firepower in 2002, 2003, and 2004, I really believe some better D might have been a slight difference in us reaching a Cup Final.
