Give credit to Youtube...I've downloaded this song and have converted it to a wave file for every other day listening while on the road between service calls...Never would have known this song existed, otherwise, if not for Youtube...
Luv the beach antics and the vocal harmonies. I just went back four decades in time to a era that I knew as a ute'. This sound reminds me a lot of the later sixties, Psych/pop/rock era sound
This was supposed to air on New Haven's channel 8, but never did as i understand. I am lucky enough to have a copy...Check out the Bram Rigg Set playing at the New Haven train station.
Unbelievable, I was a member of a band that played with 2 other bands and the Shags at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Southington back in the mid 60's. The Shags were the feature band that night. This is a real treat. Thanks for making this available.
i am a great fan of the shags as well as all great music from this era i was blown away to actually see this video, as i am close to original members as well as there mascott of 4 y.o. at the time thank you for the memories
I remember Nebs Furnace, The basement of a church on the west haven green, had black lights and lots of bands played there. Can anyone remember any more bands that played locally? I knew a guy from a band, they lived on the corner of Washington and park, and I cant remember the name of the band, they they had a 45 I think. Jasper Wrath played at nebs furnace alot. Mike Kelly
I don't remember it so well, but when I was in high school we watched a traffic safety movie that had a cameo from The Shags. I remember the hearse and the drum head with "The Shags" on it.
The Shags were from New Haven(environs). In the mid 60's hey were far and away the hottest band in Connecticut. They'd show up in that Hearse, with hair down to their shoulders, black suits & a full compliment of Vox amps and absolutely blow you away.
Really stunning to see this stuff after all these years.
this is great...ok it's a homevideo kind of stuff but brilliant considering how obscure this band is and most importantly how cool the song is! jangling coolness!
will we ever see THE DOVERS ? (as somebody said before:i guess i'm only dreaming...)
this sucks! >.<

@amosthree Certainly. Then again, can anything compare to the Wiggin sisters? We are talking about The Shaggs Who Changed The World.
