  • all those dudes who got to scream on the mic for half a second, lucky as fuck

  • I am not traditionally a fan of metal. I've spent a fair bit of time contemplating my contempt for the genre in general, but I have to confess having enjoyed this song. It doesn't hammer you the entire time - it has transitions that keep it from being monotonous: 2:30. There is obvious musicality at work here.

  • @o0xemas0o Btbam is amazing progressive metal. awesome transitions. If you haven't already checked out more of them i would suggest running through the album colors. There is a full set on youtube of the live dvd. It's beyond words.

  • we used a direct feed from the board to a DAT machine. Doesn't always work out good like this. The Sound Guy was good that night. Worst is when the sound guy isnt good then its bad news. I could send you some that are terrible hahah

  • What did you guys use for Audio?

  • 1 person isn't alive anymore.

  • for any non believers of tommy's PERFECTION LIVE, I just kept clicking on exactly 3:20 about 10 times in a row, do the same, you will enjoy, just try not to develop a man crush, it's hard

  • Haha guy at 2:32 cracked me up! "alright im on top, now what? hmmm just go limp" :D

  • the only band that sounds better live than on the album

  • best fucking ilve performance ive ever seen on the interwebs

  • I miss Paul's short hair.

  • i love the lyrics, i just wish he wouldnt put a random "w" at the beginning of every other word x(. silly fry screams.

  • Tommy's scream and singing are so perfect at this show. Except the "memories" part, too low kinda

  • Absolutely love this song, whole thing is great but 2:48-3:19 just gets me every time. best on the album along with shevanel cut a flip and aspirations. Brilliant band, all cd's, cover to cover. As well as one of the best live acts i've ever seen. I'll love these guys forever.

  • i love shevanel cut a flip. the beginning's so awesome.

i'm just so sad that they not touring canada, and like one or two years ago they played a show at a bar like 10 blocks from where i live. fuck.

  • those guys up front aint half bad at singing

  • Dustie and Paul had their guitars up so much higher back then than they do now. And man Dustie looks so short.

  • incredible performance loved it fucking amazing guys

  • holy shit, the quality is amazing.

  • lol BTBAMoffficial favorited this

  • damn I love this video the kids who sceam the words make me happy to know other people digged them way back when!

  • Way back... 4 years ago?

  • Well actually I guess it gets a bit better later. But still, fairly tame crowd

  • Man, what's with the crowd? They're playing freaking metal / death metal / prog / whatever you classify it and you stand there??

    Sweet vid otherwise :-P

  • what up with that guy in the read shirt at 2:32?

did he pass out of something lol

  • @flupusbarbosa561 haha prob

  • it makes me sad to see how much dustie moves around in these older videos, but how little he moves around in the Colors DVD

i really hope his back gets better :(

  • audio needs to bit louder but awesome video

  • They should come to Belfast...no one ever comes to Belfast, fuck sake. I hate Dublin for this.

  • i like eggs

  • Blake wasn't in the band for the recording of Silent Circus. Jason Roe played Drums for Silent Circus and the S/T . Blake's debut with them was on Alaska.

  • jason roe?? wtf what about will goodyear and mark castillo lolol

  • jason roe didnt record the silent circus

  • I thought it was Mark Castillo who came in for the recording of The Silent Circus.

  • lol fail. Blake didn't record silent circus. and you think dan was the centerpiece for colors... lol

  • what about the ol tomcat dickhead

  • Comment removed

  • This comment SUCKS. Badly.

  • lol i thought this was the studio version played over a live performance until like a minute and a half in when he takes the mic away from his hands and you dont hear his voice thats how good they are live

  • These guys are my heroes. I want to see them live so bad

  • 5:39 the last words of the track LMFAO so hilarious how the fan tries to get the mic and when he does I'm not sure..I think both him and the vocalist are screaming the same words..he knows his old school BTBAM :D AWESOME !!

  • will isnt that good blake is better

  • Blake just does more fills.

  • Stage image = 0

  • Wow... I so wish I would've been at that show.

This is my favorite song off of S/T

  • nothing beats seeing these guys live. I'm so glad this was posted!

  • They should re-record Silent Circus and self titled with Tommy's new vocal style, it would sound so much better

  • uh no i think tommy sounded better in their first two albums.

  • LMAO @ 2:32.

guy in red crowd surfing completely passes out

  • WTF!? I don't think the people carrying him realize that he's out of it. Rofl.

  • that would suck to die at a BTBAM SHOW!

  • No. It'd be absolute bliss.

  • hahaha thank the lords!

  • lol @ 5:44

  • the coolest fucking thing about that moment is the line that guy screams (i am alive), and then right into the breakdown. couldn't have come at a better time.

  • Haha the first time I wasnt wathching and actualt tought it was the actual singer :P

  • THIS IS AWESOME..though i wish he would still do the vocals the way he does the on the album, that kinda shriekish sorta thing idk i can't describe them, but they are awesome.

  • I really prefer the way he growls now, I think the vocals on the first album are kind of annoying...

  • That's the same exact way I felt when I first listened to it, but they grew on me after listening to it more.

  • silent was definently there heaviest shit by far, alaska i thought was awesome, but from a musical point of view colors is untouchable. this song is from there self titled, and i think its awesome, lol if u ever listen to the recording its so old skewl. i love there self titled, it has like some punkish sounding elelments, like alexisonfire sounding stuff, imo. thats probably a bold statement but hey

  • dude this band is just the best out there, hands down, from the oldest to the newest stuff, they just continue putting out phenomenal music.

  • this video quality is mind-boggling.

  • this to me sounds like their best

  • best song off their self-titled

  • best song off their self-titles

  • i agree tommy's voice now is so much better then when it was when they did the self titled album a re-recording would be amazing

  • They NEED to do a re-recording of this cd. It's absolutely incredible, but the recordings just don't do it the justice it deserves...

  • ive noticed that alot of people are saying that there very first CD was the best and all the others are to technical....and i cant stand that because that is what makes these guys great the have a wide range. just thought i would put that out there

  • i always thought the silent circus was the best album, although they are all pretty amazing. colors seems like the vocal diversity (the different ranges and types of screams employed)

was kind of lacking a bit. this was the song that got me on this band for sure, way back in the day now...

  • well tommy actually sings quite a bit on colors and i guess i kind of understand how your criticizing his scream range on colors, i guess. but that may very well be the one and only thing you can criticize on colors. it's a damn good album with not a lot to even be thought of criticizing.

  • I honestly don't see a single feasible reason to criticize any of their albums in the least. To tell you the truth, all their albums are 100% perfect the way they are.

  • perfectly said, my friend. they're the best.

  • @supremebeing87 I really hope you are kidding. Was their self-titled an incredible album? Yes. However. If you honestly Tommy even knew what he was doing from a vocal standpoint, you sir, are a silly fool! They do need to record their self-titled (or at least Tommy's parts). Hearing this live version is incredible. The album version, does not compare.

    Kiss kiss.

  • @supremebeing87 are u the 87 th supremebeing or do u just kick serious butt .... wen listning to this kick ass band

  • sweet band

  • These dudes inspire me.

  • Wow.

    Awesome.

Thanks a lot for posting this. I was searching to see if anyone else had covered the drum part and was really disappointed at the quality of the live vids I found. Until this one of course.

  • Wow this is an amazing recording!!! They play it so perfectly and this is amazing sound!!! At first I thought some one dubbed over.. dang

  • Wow,Tommy's growls sound even better live than in the song.

  • I like the green shorts.

  • Truly gorgeous music.

  • Agreed. Favorite band by far. Also my favorite song off of the self-titled album. I wish they'd re-release it with the current line-up playing.

  • that guy at 2.31 crowd sufing looks like a dead body just being carried by the crowd hahah

  • Dude check out the guy at 5:44 that grabs the mic from tommy! That dude is badass! I bet he shit himself after that scream!

  • he was alright man... chill out

  • what do u mean chill out?? that was sick what crawled up ur ass

  • i agree they should do their selftitled with the new line up

  • Perhaps their current label will need more money, and make them re-release it. That's usually why bands often re-release their predecessors.

  • i think they should re-do their self titled with the new lineup they have. it'd sound so much cleaner

  • ....pretty sure what you're hearing is a crappy mixing job. They're playing swell. And I'm pretty sure that is their current lineup. (Dan, Dustie, Paul, Tommy, Blake)

  • Looks like the current lineup to me.

  • sweet video to a great song.

  • I love this band, and have done since the first album was released. I've seen them more than once, despite them touring the UK once. But his voice ISN'T that great. It's the only thing that comes close to letting the band down. It has no balls, and it has no power. I'm sure plenty of you will disagree, but I'll put that down to you either being "diehard" fanboys who can't look at the matter impartially, or just too stupid to understand the intricate ins and outs of "aggressive" vocals.

  • hey, I much like you, love BTBAM to death, but think tommy could be a better screamer too. I really do like his singing however, but his screaming, could most certainly, use more aggression. Except around 1:10 where he's doing a sick deep almost pig squeal kind of thing.

  • I personally love the vocals exactly how they are. I would probably be considered one of those "diehard" fanboys, but I don't have a problem standing back and looking at it from different perspectives. Tommy's vocals suit the music perfectly, and even if they don't have that 'in your face' feel of some other band's vocals (which I don't enjoy much anyways), they're still powerful.

  • But they're not. You can say you like how they sound, that's fine. It's totally subjective, but saying they're powerful is just wrong. That vocal style is very very quiet coming out of his mouth. It can't in all honestly even be considered screaming, or shouting. Shouting is what you do when you're in a club and the music is so loud you have to yell at the top of your voice to be heard.

  • ...this is how aggressive vocals originated, because singers in punk and hardcore bands were pissed off and were shouting.

With BTBAM it's much more about aesthetic, and I'm sure Tommy is more concerned about doing his voice in if he were to genuinely shout.

  • ...I don't imagine the Db level is much different to his talking voice, but of course that doesn't matter because they can boost it through the mixing desk.

If you don't have a problem with that, I totally understand, but personally, I find it a bit grating. Anselmo's voice is "powerful". Chris Cornell's voice is powerful. Tom Araya has a powerful voice. Tommy Rogers does not.

  • There's more to a powerful voice than projection and volume. I'm not talking volume powerful, I'm talking more about the effect his voice has on me and that's what makes it powerful. I see where you're coming from but we're talking about two different things.

  • ...I imagine the Db level isn't much different to his talking voice, but of course that doesn't matter because they can boost it through the mixing desk.

If you don't have a problem with that, I totally understand, but personally, I find it a bit grating. Anselmo has a poweful voice. Chris Cornell has a powerful voice. Tom Araya has a powerful voice. Tommy Rogers does not.

  • or maybe its just a shitty audio engineer setting them up? ive seen them live twice, and he is very loud and powerful. this is coming from a live video, where shit is already edited cuz the possibility that the mics werent balanced great in this show. when i saw them, both times they had opening bands and the bands had mic problems. plus, listen to their cover of "Bicycle Race".

  • You have no idea how naturally loud his voice is unless you've been in a room with him, measuring his unmic'd voice with a db meter, which you obviously haven't.

I have listened to their cover of Bicycle Race. Though I wish I hadn't. That covers album is the one blight on an otherwise amazing back catalogue.

  • dude i have seen them live twice and i have hung out with them. i have heard him sing. and you havent. obviously. besides, i cant stand it when people judge a band all based on vocals.

  • i use the same vocal technique for screaming as he does and it isn't that loud. besides that, a mic amplifies your voice no matter how quiet you are. the power of his voice has nothing to do with how loud it is live.

  • listen to backwards marathon and tell me he doesnt have good vocals

  • Well, he isn't a singer like Chris Cornell, or Jeff Buckley, or Daniel Johns... but, really, his voice is pretty spot on. His voice isn't strong per say, but it's good, he can hit the notes. Just because he doesn't have a strong voice doesn't mean he's not a good singer. Originality is what I like about bands, I like a singer that sounds different... he's different.

  • This song is just amazing, it's my personal favorite off of the first record, even more so than aspirations.

  • so fucking good but i didnt see this song live :'(

  • absolutely amazing

  • Great song!

  • representin North Carolina and what we have to offer

    :-)

  • Same here, is there a way to get to see more of the show?

  • hey metalpwner this is basically metal dipshit so live with it or get a different name

  • im srry, the musics good but i hate the vocals

  • And you call yourself 'metalpwner' :p

  • it doesn't mean he doesn't like other metal vocals :P8==D

  • Dude check out the guy at 5:44 that grabs the mic from tommy! That dude is badass! I bet he shit himself after that scream!
