@MrGolmal Good question... Might I add, you missed out Dreamboard also ;) Essentially, the main differences are modification. Over the years iOS has upgraded &so has the customization platforms. Springboard is what iOS is displayed on. Summerboard was a basis customizing platform, more for the none retina display modals, then winderboard came along with iOS4 and HD customization. Now we have dreamboard which supports widgets&other super fancy customization. Who knows what's next, 3Dboard?

@MegaSwagasaur Hi, remember winterboard is layered. If you select the option for "User wallpaper" and drag this to the top in winterboard. You'll find that your personal wallpaper will be implimented. :) I hope this helps
